We arrive on March 1. I'm already preparing myself for seeing Our Lady for the first time without her spire.

 We're visiting Paris a bit later this year in early December. I'll miss the glorious fall leaves but have so many images to remember.

Paris in Bloom

In autumn, the urns at Jardin du Luxembourg are spilling over with chrysanthemums. The colors change from year to year, but always stunning.

 This time next month, I hope Mary and I will be stepping into this lovely courtyard at Place des Vosges again to check on the red vines!

Souvenirs de Notre Dame

I run across photographs of Notre Dame almost daily. I took this from the Left Bank, November 2014.

Musée Rodin, Meudon FR

Rodin's home, studio, and burial site,  as well as a small museum are just a Métro ride to the town of Meudon. From the Métro, we took a taxi up the hill to the home and after, walked down for lunch. This day, there was a special celebration of the 100th anniversary of his death. It was drizzling rain but well worth the trip.

For the next several days, I will do a mini series of our visit.

On this November day, I was disappointed to see that there were no pétanque players. The spectators stayed home as well. Triste.

CDP Theme Day - Best of 2018

I'm skating in at the last minute with my City Daily Photo Theme Day entry. January 1 is always our favorite photo of the year. This doesn't scream Paris, but taken behind Notre Dame on a blue sky day, looking up through the autumn leaves with the sculptural dark branches is my favorite.

My obsession with Parisian vines continues from one trip to the next. The Marais is an especially fertile area for magnificent vines!

Automne à Paris

Since 2013, I"ve traveled to Paris in November. It's a wonderful time to go. You get the glorious fall color AND Christmas decorations all over the city. A photographer's delight.

Golden Hour, Golden Leaves

I have been fortunate to visit Paris in January, May, June, July, and November. For the last 4 years , I've traveled in November as it's easier for my standby flight status. I think it's a glorious time to travel. The first weeks in November is low tourists season so it's less crowded and rates are lower, which I love. In addition, you get glorious fall color and around November 12, the city is decked out for Christmas! It's the best of two seasons for photographers. 

I Love Paris in the Fall

Now that autumn is around the corner, I"m looking forward to seeing Paris at my favorite time of the year,  November. The golden yellow and orange leaves are glorious.
