Paper Crafts Magazine Swan Song

Gulp.  I'm not sure what to say.

You should have arrived here from my sweet friend Karolyn's blog

The Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine Go-to Gals said a fond farewell last week.  You can see my post here

I stumbled into crafting because I needed something for myself.  A hobby.  Something that gave me personal joy and a creative outlet.  Something to give me some "me" time.  I also wanted something that could take up little space and wouldn't make too much of a mess. Ha!!!

Within a month of picking up the hobby, I started submitting to Paper Crafts and one month later I had my first acceptance.

The rest is history.

While making pretty things out of stamps, ink, and paper is fun, the people are what make this whole hobby so out-of-this-world fantastic.  I've made some of my best friends today though paper crafting and I know that Paper Crafts magazine (and Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine) is at the center of that.

I am so thankful for the opportunity to have been a part of the Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine family.

To all of my paper crafting friends (close or not) - I am so thrilled to have been a part of this with you.

To the editors,
I know I said it last week but I'll say it again... I adore and respect and appreciate each one of you.  So much.  Thank you for everything you did for this community. I wish you all the best.

Now for a few projects...

This card would have been on the March 2015 cover.

This was a card for our Go-to Gal Sparks column.  I featured Pretty Pink Posh sequins and dies.

And one last new one - to say thank you - to everyone.

Now you're off to Niki's blog.

Big hugs to everyone today.  Thanks for making it to my blog.

A fond farewell!!! Sniffle!

I've been avoiding my blog for days because I didn't want to face this post.

Today it becomes official.  The sweet and amazingly talented Betsy Veldman has decided to step down from her position as a Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine Go-to Gal.

Yep.  You can read the official announcement on the Paper Crafts Connection blog here

I feel so incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to meet and work next to Betsy.  Betsy is kind, sweet, well spoken, genuine, humble and out-of-this-world talented.  Did I mention the girl is funny, too?  Yep.  She is funny!

Betsy taught me a lot about paper crafting.  I might just admit, while she probably has no clue, a long time ago she introduced me to Berry Sorbet.  Sigh.  Perfect color.  We might have even fought over a Berry Sorbet ink pad last Ed Board.

Betsy, I adore you and I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.  I'm not going to lie, I'm going to miss you but I completely support you in your decision and I am so happy for what I know the future holds for you.

Betsy, this card is for you.  I'll pop it in the mail soon, I promise.

I poured my heart into this card and tried to incorporate a few things I've learned from Betsy over the years - from using patterned paper for layers to die cut borders.

Now be sure to head to the other Go-to Gals blogs because we're all saying a fond farewell to our dear Betsy.

Merry Christmas

Yay!  I'm so happy December is here!  I love Christmas so it's hard for me to wait to decorate the house.

Since I've had family in town, I haven't had much time to create.  So, I thought I'd pop in and share another publication.  This card was published in Paper Crafts magazine Holiday Cards & More, Vol 8.  It's full of ideas for cards but also gift wraps, food wraps, gifts, and even home decor.  If you're looking for some inpiration, you can pick your copy HERE.
I love how the woodgrain paper adds so much interest to a rather simple card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
