ready for the adventure

Hi my friends.
Just wanted to pop in and say happy, happy summer!
I'm ready for vacation. Ready for our big journey and adventure to Los Angeles, California.

I have created this travel journal. Inspired by the "on the road" minialbum by Ali edwards.
I will try to keep my little notes and memories in this book, and add my thoughts and capture the moments along the way.
this is just a few of the pages in the book I wanted to share with you.

Now big hugs you all!!

my day

Hi my friends.
Thank you SO much for all your kindest birthday wishes on my facebook page, on my e-mail, on Cocoa Daisy forum, on my profile at "The Color Room" and other places.
I SO appreciate it all, and you totally made my day!
big hugs!!

This has been a beautiful day here in oslo.
the weather was good and I celebrated my day at my mothers house.
My kids and my mom made delicious food and the girls made me their special crunchy chocolate cake.
We had a great time outdoor in the sun.
it was all good.
:)
Thank you mom, Edvin, Iver, eirun, sol.
I love you!!

When we arrived home Edvin and Eirik had arranged a wonderful surprise for me:
I found this romantic, beautiful, new bench in my garden, along with a basket full of yummy strawberries.
It just couldn't be any better!
:)
And, at last I got some cozy, wonderful scrappy time - just for me
:) :)
I created this mini album with pictures from my day.
All patterned paper by Cosmo Cricket ( the new line: Odds and Ends )

Now, Thanks for popping by!!

inspiration monday

Hi my friends.
Hope you are all fine.
I have been so busy with the 3ndypapir spring release this week - so sorry I just left you with the sneak-peeks last monday...
Anyhow I'll make up today and share a super cute minialbum tutorial with you.
This minialbum is a paperbag album, and I used the new "secret garden" collection by 3ndypapir.
If some of you, my friends in US or other places in the world want to purcase this collection, please contact me by e-mail:
and while waiting, please join my inspiration monday.
enjoy!

For this project I have used small paperbags size 7 cm X 20 cm.
I bought these at Minnehjørnet, but I guess you can get them in your favourite LSS or online.
All patterned papers are 3ndypapir
a ribbon to tie around the book
overlay by Hambly
dymo text
crocheted embellishments bought on Etsy

I put all my 3 paperbags in one stack and sew them together using my sewing machine.
I stiched forth and back, to secure the bags. This stiched line will be the "binding" of the book, and after I stiched it looked like this:

Now I attached the ribbon around my book.
I glued my ribbon to the front and back to make it stay in place.

I Cut 12 pieces of patterned paper size 9,5 cm X 6,5 cm
to cover all the book-pages and the cover.

I attached all the pieces of patterned paper to my bookpages, and used my "markedsdag" tag-paper (3ndypapir), my hambly-tag-overlay, crochet-flowers and ladybugs to embellish the pages and added titles using my Dymo.
I was SO inspired by my friend Lene to use black against all the bright colors.
Thank you Lene - you are amazing! :)

VOILA!
The book is ready, and I added my pictures.
I decided I wanted this to be a book about Eiruns passion for crocheting.
I added some pictures and some tags to the pockets.
And here is how my book turned out:

Thank you for visiting my blog!
Hope you enjoyed this inspiration monday.
And please give me a link if you make a mini inspired by this. I would LOVE to see you work of art!!
Have a wonderful week!!

Inspiration monday :)

Hi all.
Hope you had a wonderful sunday, valentines day, mothers day, Chinese new year, Fastelaven and so on yesterday.
I had a wonderful (!) sunday with my loved family.
Lots of yummy food, gifts, flowers, chocolate, coffe, creating and a lovely winter weather here in Oslo.
:)
Eirun and I created this little amigurumi frog couple.
I made the green one...and planned on making one for each of my 4 kids as a valentine gift....BUT eirun decided this little green guy needed a wife. SO SHE crocheted the pink beauty :)
Aren't they the sweetest? :)

Well anough rambling...
I'm ready for a new inspiration monday - hope you are too :)
Today I'll share my love for a simple, fast and fun minialbum.
This album makes a great foundation for any minialbum project. All the pages are plane, neutral cardstock, so this minialbum is perfect as a gift, or just to keep for any occation you just need a minialbum :)

You'll need 3 sheets of cardstock 12x12 inch
one sheet of patterned paper (I've used one of my favorite cosmo Cricket papers from the "material girl"-line )
waxed linen thread or embrodery tread (i used both)
2 buttons
needle
(sewing machine)

Cut the 3 sheets of neutral cardstock in 12 x 6 inch size and fold all the pages in half.

Cut patterned paper in 6x6 inch (or a little bit less to leave a tiny frame of craft along the edges)and add to the outside of the cover-page

sew along the edges of the patterned paper with your sewing machine.

add two 6x6 inch pieces of paper to the inside of the cover.

Gather all the neutral pages inside the cover.

make 2 holes trough all the pages in the folded edge.

I used my needle to make holes.

Using DOUBLE tread, sew trough the holes, starting from the outside of the cover, leave a long tail of the thread on the outside, sew trough the holes, and leave the rest of the thread on the outside.
(I have used double embrodery floss pluss one waxed linen tread)

You'll now add the buttons to the thread on the outside of the cover.

put one thread trough each of the holes in the button and tie a knot and a sweet little bow on top.

I added some beads to the waxed linen tread.

Voila!

The book is ready to use!

Happy creating!
