Cardabilities Sketch Challenge

This year, Paper Makeup Stamps is taking a different approach to our challenges. While we will still bring you challenges now and then directly from us, we have decided instead of hosting our own challenge every friday, this year we are sponsoring many of the challenge blogs that you may or may not already participate in!

Today starts the challenge from the Cardabilities Sketch Challenge blog that we are hosting.
Karan has provided this awesome sketch for your motivation...

Now the Cardabilities Design Team has made some awesome samples for you to see and many of them even use Paper Makeup Stamps! So be sure to check them all out!
But before you go over there, many of our designers have already played along and made these fun samples for you as well!

It's time for another Rethink day!

Sorry this post is going up a little late today everyone!

Today is another day to rethink! If you dont have a clue what i'm talking about, this month all the Paper Makeup Artists are "rethinking" their very first PMS card! You can read the details HERE!

Today it's Senior Paper Makeup Artist Lisa Kind (one of our very first design team members!) and one of our most recent and fabulous addition to the design team, Danni Bindel's turn to share their remakes!

First up, is Lisa Kind...

Here is her very first PMS card using one of our very first fairies, Chelly.

Below is her remake... she added on a sentiment from the Fairy Sentiment Set, which wasnt added into the Paper Makeup Stamps collection until a few months after she made her original card.

Both of them are pretty great if you ask me!

And next up, are 2 more fabulous cards by Danni Bindel.

Above is her original using Elle the Easter Fairy.
And below is her equally adorable Elle card!

So have you made YOUR remake yet?

Fun things to make with DIGIS

Ok, so i know i've been promising you a fun post! I hope this is good enough!

Since PMS has recently released a line of Digi stamps... i wanted to go into a little bit of detail of why digis can be a lot of fun (more than just instant gratification, no shipping costs, less cost per image and no storage space needed other than on your computer)

Digital Stamps offer more modification choices than standard rubber stamps do. This biggest one being that you can RESIZE! Image, the skies the limit! You can make a wordart small to accompany a photo...

Or larger to make it the main focus of a card...

Or you can make it much larger for altered projects like below!

Here this quote was printed to about 5x7 to put on this 8.5x11 wooden wall plaque

And here it's bee printed slightly larger than you might for a card to put on the front of this family scrapbook!

And wordart isnt the only thing you might want to enlarge... Check out this coloring book that I made for a friends little girl using the fairies! The book cover is 8.5x12 so the fairy image on the front was still needing to be larger to accomodate the cover size, and then the inside pages are 8.5 x 11... nice and large for a 5 year old to color!

But you also dont always have to resize large! Sometime you might want to take an image and make it smaller to create a background! Like Kim did here!

So now that you've seen some resizing things you can do... how about seeing some of the OTHER fun things you can do! This is perfect for scrapbookers! You can either use these super quick and easy on a digital scrapbook page (sorry i didnt get my sample done on that! WOOPS! I'll show you that later this week!) But you can also do some other neat things.... like......

Use the images directly over your photos! For this particular sample, Shaela printed it on a transparency to lay over her photo, but using the PNG file (recently added to the site, if you only received the jpeg and would also like the PNG file, just shoot me and email and i'll get it to ya lickety split), you can just put the wordart right across your photo before you print!!!! Notice also that shaela enlarged the images from the raindrops and rainbows set to be large enough for her scrapbook layout! I totally {heart} this layout!

But wait... there is more! You can also easily separate the wordart. Now yes, you can do this with rubber stamps by masking, but there is always the fear of goofy ink mistakes... you can be sure that will never happen with digi printed stamps! here again shaela has printed on a transparency... but it just makes for a cute cute effect. You could have the same separation on any cardstock or paper you choose.

Now this that doesnt make you want to give digi's a shot... i dont know what will?! :)

Monday Challenge!

I apologize for getting this up late ladies! I'm still in catch up mode and top that off with my spastic internet, posting has been a little tough!

I finally got to use my chelly image i colored for the coloring class i taught last saturday! Woot! And it worked perfectly for today's challenge.

Today's challenge is an EMBELLISHMENT CHALLENGE. Since this is the first embellishment challenge, i kept it super simple. All ya gotta do is use some BLING! The only catch is you have to use 2 different kinds of bling. But it's still easy enough, bling can be anything that shimmers, sparkles, gleams or glistens! haha.

For my bling i used a pica pen on her dress (hard to see in the photo), stickles on her wings, i used glitter paper by Best Creations, some satin ribbon and then a green rhinestone. Lotsa bling! More details on my blog.

Dont forget to link up your card here in Mr. Linky. Next sunday we'll do a show off of all the cards!

And if uploading to splitcoast or paper craft planet, use these Tags, papermakeupstamps, PMSeb1

OMG - Did you SEE?

Hiya ladies! I'm trying to go (a little) by a format for the PMS blog. Wednesdays are now going to be OMG - Did you SEE days. Just a day where i post some seriously fantastic projects using Paper Makeup Stamps.

First i want to remind you of the Super Tuesday sale. Normally this sale (the first tuesday of the month) will only be for 24 hours, but since this was the first one with very little warning for ya, it will be 48 hours long which means if you are interested in Starstruck or Nuts About You, you have until midnight tonight to place your order. :)

Ok... onto the show...

OMG! Did you SEEEEE? 2 blogs had cards this week that really made me go WOW!

First is our Senior Premo Design Team member, Christi! I know i show her cards on the blog alot and it's probably not very likely to stop because i just LOVE Christi's work. And i dont just say that because she's a great friend! haha. She has a great layering style! But this card really blew me away. She used the swirlie tree for her background. Isnt that neato?! And then the quote as her main image and i just love the quotes! They are very near and dear to my heart!

Next i have my friend Lynn's card. Lynn featured Chelly on her blog a bit back (and then sent me the card as a Good Luck with the new business! Isnt that sweet of her!) And then i saw Chelly featured on her blog again the other day. Lynn has a beautiful clean style but she still incorporates a lot into her cards. That takes some talent! She's also a fabulous color-er (is that a word). I've watched Lynn's work for quite some time. She's a great go to for inspiration. Here's her card...

Ok ladies - i have a card class i'm helping with this morning (with the kiddos in tow - this should be interesting!) and then maybe just MAYBE i'll get some stamping time in today! Oh i hope i hope! :)

a card from my mama!

Today i'm going to feature a BRAND NEW stamper. MY MAMA! :D My mom has never stamped in her life. But she decided with my new venture, she was going to start! So she ordered some stamps. Yes she ORDERED. I could have beat her. I called her immediately and said MOM! You know i would give you anything you asked for! Why did you order?! Her reply was "because she wanted to... next time maybe". So yesterday the fam (meaning my hubby and my 2 boys) went out to lunch. We got home and checked the website. MY MOM ORDERED AGAIN! Or rather she preordered. So we called her and said "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Her reply was "having fun... and supporting my favorite new company". I again tell her how i would give her anything she asked for (FYI my parents are the most supportive people in the world and always have been). Her reply was "maybe nexttime". I have a feeling i'm seeing a pattern here.

Anyhoo - she emailed me this card this morning and i actually havent asked permission yet (woops) but i'm featuring her anyway!

This is my mom's very first card of all time!

Ok, i'm done gushing about my mom. :)

Preorders special deals will go thru Wednesday. After that they can still be ordered of course, but they will be regular priced.
Thanks everyone!!!
