trick or treat ted

>> Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Good GRIEEEEEF i've been busy! And after my raging head cold finally subsided, but computer decided to die. Just one night i was typing up a blog post and POOF. It shut off... never to be restarted again. WTH! I finally gave up and made my hubby reluctantly agree to hand over his mac mini desktop. I need a desktop rather than a laptop anyway. But i still want to get my macbook working again! So frustrating! After finally getting my new computer set up... i had a string of makeup jobs (not complaining there to say the least... for those that are interested, i will be updating my makeup blog over the course of the next few days with pictures and such) but between work with makeup and work with the stamp company (orders take precedence over creating time!) I hadnt had time to work on too much. Fortunately for me, i had a few things I havent had the chance to show on my blog yet!

Like this fun monster card using Trick or Treat Ted from Paper Makeup Stamps.

Now as cute as he is with his little jack-o-lantern treat pail, check out what Randee did with him a bit back. See, he works all the time, not just in October! She's totally genius!

A little FYI for those who don't know... the past halloween (and many other fall stamps) are on SALE! Not just a little sale... a big sale! Qty's are limited of course, so check out the sale stuff while you can!

The card above was colored with copic markers (G21, G24, G28; C0, C1, C2, V12, V15; YR12, YR14, YR18). THe papers are all from the Halloween Card kit released this month from PMS (the paper collection is Happy Halloween from Echo Park).

I added some liquid glass by CTMH to his helmet. It looks really fun and cool in person, kinda hard to see in the picture.

Whew, well i'm wiped and going to bed! Hopefully you've enjoyed your easier read. haha.

Have a great day!!!

>> Thursday, October 7, 2010

It's that time of the month again! PMS time! No not THAT kind of PMS, the only kind of PMS you can look forward to! Paper Makeup Stamps!

Now you should have hopped here directly from the PMS company blog! It's full of all the info you need for the day and if you've just come here, then go back a square to get all the deets. Then come back to me and start your hop!

For my hop card today, i used the new October Halloween card kit!
I love the papers and ribbons and embellies in the kit so much! AND, for the first time, we're offering this kit for sale with a digi stamp as well as the rubber stamp. Yes, this decision was made because there was an error by our manufacturer, but that is no reason you cant reap the benefits! A cheaper kit! Plus right now, if you get our newsletter you would have gotten a code to get 1 kit and get another kit and 10 bucks off! WHAT!?! That's crazy right?! Ok, if you arent signed up for the newsletter... you can still sign up to get these goodie deals each month. Then email katie@papermakeup.com to let me know that you signed up for the newsletter and then i will send you the voucher code! :D

Ok, and now my card...

Every bit of my card came from the card kit right down to the emerald green liquid pearls!
I love these colors for halloween so much! And these papers for Echo Park are just fabulous!
Even the die cut is from the kit! Yep, i LOOOOOVE this kit! :D

Ok... my head cold is still getting the better of me, so i'm going to give you my letter before i forget and then send you on your merry way!

Now continue on to Dawn's blog! She'll have a card for you that is probably reminiscent of how i'm feeling about now! hahahaha! I better take a nap this afternoon so i can party tonight at the RELEASE PARTY!!!!! :D

Have a wonderful day everyone!!!

Makeup 4 the Weekend #42

>> Friday, September 17, 2010

Friday means another Makeup 4 the Weekend challenge from Paper Makeup Stamps and I played along AGAIN! Woot Woot! Go me for playing my own company's challenge. BWAHAHA. I say that in jest because i often miss the deadline to play. So sad really. I'm REALLY going to be more on top of it this fall. :D

Ok... here's the challenge... it's a sketch challenge, but Ginger adapted the sketch so that both cardmakers AND scrapbookers can play! I LOVE that!

I went the route of the cardmaker because quite frankly... that was what i had time for this week!

The 2 sketches are very similar... but obviously are just tweaked slightly for if you want a layout or a card. I really wanted to have 1 of each for this challenge! but hey, at least i have something, right?

I used paper and embellies from the Arelia's World of Makeup Believe kit again. I'm telling you, i love that kit! The papers are all from Echo Park's Life is Good collection. I also used some fun glitter ribbon from Making Memories and cut strips of the adheisve fabric (from American Crafts) all of which comes in the kit. Also in the kit are the In Stitches blossoms with the buttons already sewn on. Man i love those things. The only elements on my card that are NOT from the kit is the cream cardstock that i used around the circles, the liquid pearls next to the sentiment and then sentiment itself. However, the sentiment is one of PMS's many simple sentiment stamps that is sold by itself and is currently on sale for only a buck (as bare rubber)! You can find it HERE.

Be sure to check out the Paper Makeup Stamps blog to see what else this challenge has to offer you! There are more samples, and another sketch for you to check out if you are a scrapper! AND there is a free stamp up for grabs! But you have to play to win! So check it out!!!

Arelia's World of Make Believe Kit Review

>> Wednesday, September 15, 2010

2nd post of the day! Scroll down to see my card for the Copic Creations Challenge!

I'll keep this post short... since it's my 2nd one of the day!

Today Lisa Kind and I are reviewing the Arelia's World of Make Believe card kit from Paper Makeup Stamps. Since you already saw a card with the Arelia Fairy on it (if you didnt, click HERE), i decided to use the word art for my card today!

Sometimes all you need for a fun card is a good wordart and some fun papers to make layers with. This card came together in NO time! And i was primarily using up some scrap pieces from previous cards i've made with this kit! I distressed my edges (especially on the fabric paper which is the aqua and white polka dot paper) to give it a more antiqued look. I airbrushed inside the nestie to help the wordart pop out a bit. The ribbon (also from the kit) was just used as a little accent. I love the sheer-ness of the ribbon so you can see the details behind it. I also topped the card off with some ready make embellishments by Sassafrass Lass (also in the kit) called Institches blossoms. I LOOOOVE these! They have foam adhesive on the back, are already stitched together with the sewn button on top. Such an easy way to make an extra impact to a card with very little work from yourself!

Be sure to check out what Lisa has done with the kit for today and continue to scroll down to read my Copic Creations challenge post and check out my card using Kraftin' Kimmie's Stamps!

Paper Makeup Stamps Peeks BEGIN!

>> Friday, September 3, 2010

The september release for Paper Makeup Stamps is almost here!!!
Can you wait? I sure cant! Everyday this week there will be new sneaks up on the company blog!
This starts today and you're first way to win is there too... so CHECK IT OUT!

Today's peeks are of the new Makeup Card Kit! I am in LOVE with this card kit! This kit has been in the works for a loooong time (at least it feels like a looooong time) and I have a lot of sentimental attachment to it as well. Aside from the fact that i do sometimes long to have a little girl, and like to live vicariously thru my friends who DO... do you remember one of my cards from the last release where i told you my friend was moving away? Well this kit was named for her daughter. Rachel was one of my first friends i met in South Carolina and she is my all-time enabler! She pushed me to start a craft blog. And she is the one who pushed me the hardest to start me own stamp company. She would send me links to all kinds of places.... here's a place that will press your rubber, here's a place that will engrave your plates. Everyday... why dont you just DO it already? So finally i did!
Then she's the one that says... have a baby, we want to play with a baby! And when i did get pregnant... she was pregnant just a month after! SO we even carried babies in our bellies together! Only SHE is the one with the little girl! HAHAHAHAHAH!

Little Miss Arelia love's her "pretties". Bags... jewelry.... clothes... she is a girlie girl! So girlie that Rachel has started her own jewelry line. You really should check it out!

Ok, sorry, i have gotten off track! Here is my card!

Every bit of this card (minus the tools, inks and liquid pearls) is from this kit!
The fabric paper may just be my favorite! No wait... the rose ribbon.... no the stamps.... no the paper... no.... yeah i cant make up my mind. Good thing i dont have a little girl... can you imagine me trying to get her ready in the morning?!

Here's a close up detail view of some things you may have questions about. You get 12 inches of "rose ribbon" made by American Crafts. You may have seen ribbon like this, they are all the rage! And 12 inches is a perfect amount for you to play around with! Here i've just used a single rosette from the ribbon, but it's super fun using a strip as well! You can also see the fabric paper a little better in the photo. Fabric paper is super easy to run thru your die cutting machine or use punches on. I ran my fingernail along the edges to give it a more worn feel and also inked the edges in distress ink. That brad is also in the kit along with 3 other colors that perfectly coordinate with the paper for a little extra bling!

Well i wont go on and on about what all is IN the kit and not on my card! You can see all of that on the company blog today! And dont forget to check back in for more peekie peeks!!!
Have a wonderful day!!!

The Will to Day Dream...

>> Thursday, July 22, 2010

Ahhh... i am a dreamer... that is for sure! I love to day dream and have been a day dreamer ever since i was a little girl (and have gotten in trouble for it lots as well!)

And now its summer... one of my favorite things to do in the summer is just lay in the grass and look at the puffy white clouds. I have long had an obsession with clouds... this new craze of paper with cloud images... OMG, i'm in HEAVEN!

Well, today Paper Makeup Stamps is releasing a new Card Kit called The Will To Day Dream and day dreamy it does make me!

Look at this cutie fairy boy, just day dreaming away!

All of the elements on my card come from the Will to Day Dream card kit!

Just look at all this summer fun-ness!
* 3 Stamps... Will, the daydreaming fairy, Anyone of us wordart, thinking of you simple sentiment
* Eight 6x6 sheets of double sided patterned cardstock from American Crafts
* Four .5 x 6 inch decorative strips (ok, so they really kinda come with the paper, but they are über cute and worth mentioning on their own!!!)
* Two 6x6 sheets of specialty embossed cardstock from KI Memories (with a cute dogwood image embossed right into the cardstock!)
* Eight 8.5 x 11 Sheets of Bazzill Smoothies Cardstock - Ocean Breeze, Tangelo Blast, Carob Cream and Cherry Splash - YUM!
* Twelve glorious glittered paper flowers from American Crafts, all different!
*An assortment of coordinating buttons in all shapes and sizes (including some polka dot and glitter ones!)
* Ribbons! You'll get 1 yard each of a sheer turquoise with brown polka dots and a yellow grosgrain as well 3/4 yd of a fabulous 1 1/2 inch wide chocolate linen ribbon thats to die for!
* A Pack of Kaisercraft Pearls in a lushious lemon shade!
* a $5 voucher off your next purchase of $20 or more! (cannot be combined with other vouchers or reward points)

Superbly fun, right? Here's more on my card...

The glitter flowers are way fun and come in a variety of colors, shapes and sizes, but best of all, since they are from the same manufacturer as the paper (American Crafts) the colors match PERFECT and there are 10 different colors!!!!! I decided to fashion 2 flowers into something a little "sun-like" adding one of the many glitter buttons to the center and tying it off with some waxy linen thread (the only thing on this card that did not come from the kit!)

Here's a little more on Will, our day dreaming fairy!
I've colored Will with copic markers. Hair is Y21, YR23, Custom Blend Y20; Skin is E00, E21;
Shirt is BG10, BG72, Custom Blend BG100; Pants and Shoes E43, E44, E47; Grass YG21, YG23
The sentiment you see above is also from the kit! Such a darling font, it can be used over and over and over again for so many cards!

So you are aching to dream away with this kit too, right? You can buy it RIGHT NOW at Paper Makeup Stamps just by clicking HERE. But hurry, there is a limited number of kits available!
Go get yours now!

New card kit available at Paper Makeup Stamps!

>> Thursday, May 20, 2010

Paper Makeup Stamps has a card kit available and it's on sale now!
The kit is called Celestial Possibilities and oh so many possibilities it has!
Here is my card for you today using the kit!

Oh how i love what's in this kit, and I havent even gotten to use it all yet!
My favorite (aside from the stamps!) is that oh so yummy velvet ric rac ribbon!
Isn't it just to die for! Next up is the paper. It's just thick enough! Not too flimsy, double sided and just beautiful! But it's also not so thick that you just feel like your card is going to fall over if you put more than 1 layer on it! And then third, those epoxy brads. I dont often buy epoxy brads because they tend to be pricy. But i just couldnt help but include them in this kit!
They are from the same collection as the paper so of course they match it perfectly.
And they are just stunning on a card!

Here's a closeup image of Celest...

I colored Celest with Copic Markers (Skin: E000, E00, E21; Hair: E27, E25, "E23"; Dress: G40, G82, BG34; Wings BG0000, Colorless Blender; Moon "BG100", BG10, BG72)
what are all those colors in quotes? Those are ones i've made using reinkers and empty markers. See the video i made on that, HERE, watch the end, the beginning is on refilling)
ETA: i let the image hang out of my nestie a bit when i cut it out and i just saw that Gina K has a fantastic tutorial on how to do this! Check it out HERE!

And of the wordart you get in the kit...

I cut the image out with nesties and then used the copic airbrush and BG10 marker.

Ok, so ya wanna see what all you get in this kit?
1 Image Stamp: Celest the Fairy
1 WordArt Stamp: Dwell in Possibilty
8 Sheets of 6x6 double sided patterned paper (by Kaisercraft)
8 full sheets of 8.5x11 Cardstock (by Bazzill)
1 pack epoxy brads (matches paper, by Kaisercraft)
1 pack Paper Flowers (dont be fooled, flowers are stack on top of themselves, theres a lot)
4 yards of delicious ribbon (may arts)
20 star shaped brads (by Creative Impressions)
4 Star Spiral Clips (by Creative Impressions)

Kit Cost while valued at $25 (or more if you include EZ Mount) is being offered for $20 (add $2 if you want the stamps mounted on EZ mount for you)
BUT also included in the kit is a $5 voucher towards a future purchase of $20 or more.
And because i know people will ask... these stamps are not being sold separately from the kit.
We may consider adding them to the PMS line at a later date, but they will not be sold separately so long as we have this kit in stock.
BUT, there is a limited quantity of this kit made up! Once we are out, we wont be restocking.
So get it while you can!

Are you ready to purchase this kit yet?
