PMS Digi Makeover Challenge #62

>> Monday, November 5, 2012

Holy cow there was a lot of participation last week in the digi challenge!  So much that I couldnt just not play this week!  I hope the winner enjoys her new digis!  It's that easy to play along, just use a digi and also our challenge for the week.  It does not need to be a paper makeup stamps digi.  I'm a little partial to them myself.  hehe.

This week's challenge is to create a thank you card.  These are the cards I reach for most in my stash so I can always use extras.

Here I have one of the PMS fairies named Melody and a sentiment from the Everyday Thanks set (which was added to the site as a digi set just for this challenge!)

Be sure to check out the company blog for more samples from the PMS design team!

PMS Digi Makeover Challenge, Monochromatic

>> Monday, July 9, 2012

Anyone who knows me, or has followed my blog for a bit knows that i absolutely LOVE monochromatic!  So when the challenge leader, Michelle Van Patten, issued the challenge to use monochromatic colors so way on our cards for this weeks challenge, i was THRILLED!
You can see more monochromatic-ness i've done by clicking on the label monochromatic.

And here is my card for today...

I used a new to digi (but one of the first fairy images for rubber) Emma.
And since i was using her in a digi form, I decided to enlarge her a bit, but then cut off her legs so that the image was a little more about her sunny disposition on her face.  Though i really love her little rain boots so it was a bit painful to not include them.  haha!
I also used the sentiment, a cloudy day.

The image was colored with the topic marker cool greys and then the rain and wings were drawn over with a glitter pen.  How could you not smile if you lived in a world where it rain glitter! (please refrain now from breaking into the Ke$ha song in your head like i just did... and if you did, i apologize!)

Now be sure to go on over and check out the company blog to see samples from the challenge team!

Digi Makeover Catch Up!

>> Monday, July 2, 2012

Its Monday, so it's time for another Digi Makeover Challenge, but wait... i never got my card from LAST week posted!  HAHA!  I was having some internet issues, so I did get my card sent via phone to Michelle who posted it on the company blog, but I just realized it never was posted over here!
Last week was so crazy, I was on 2 production jobs, so between those, home life and other work related this and thats, well, i guess i just never realized it wasnt posted.  Better late than never, right?

So here is my card from last week!  I used Wally monster.  I just love that guy!
The papers are from one of our old card kits, Will to DayDream.  (manufacturer, American Crafts)

And now into this week's challenge... to make an Easel card!

Here is my card duo...
The great this about easel cards is that there are a lot of things you can do with them!
In this case, I created cards but put my boys teachers names on the base.
The names were printed with my favorite font (you might notice it's the same one I use for Paper Makeup Stamps!) and the digi is While We Teach.

The inside has a sweet thank you note from the everyday thanks set (actually hand stamped in this case as it was a last minute though and I had already glued down my paper!)

Be sure to check out the company blog for more great samples!

PMS Digi Makeover Challenge

>> Monday, June 18, 2012

It's another Monday and another day for a PMS digi makeover challenge!
I was so thrilled to see so many participants in last week's challenge!  Remember you do not have to use a PMS digi to play, any digi will do.  But of course i love seeing those PMS digis!  hehehehe.  Shameless plug.  :D

This week, our digi team coordinator, Michelle, challenged us to a Things with Wings challenge.  Wll good gravy there are a lot of PMS stamps with wings so it was hard to even choose an image to play with!

In the end I decided on Nell Fairy.  And again, this was previously not a digi on the site and just a rubber stamp so I decided to add it to the shop along with Carma and Wayne from the same release.  :D  You can see the latest digi adds HERE.

Here is my card...

My sentiment is from the Raindrops and Rainbows set but this sentiment is also available solo here.

Papers are all from Daisy Bucket (an older collection, i'm in a desperate attempt to use UP paper that i've hoarded rather than buy new!) And the image was colored with copic makers (R00, R30, R32, R35, R37, R39, E00, E21, E23, E25, E27, B000, B00, B02, B04, YG11, YG13, YG17)

Be sure to check out the Company Blog to see if you won last week's challenge (if you played!) and to see she awesome samples from the team members this week AND to enter to win this week's challenge!

Thanks for dropping by!

Digi Makeover Challenge from Paper Makeup Stamps!

>> Monday, June 11, 2012

I'm back from my hiatus!  Sorry i've missed the past couple of weeks in the digi makeover challenge.  Just so much going on around here!  And then last week my good friend Ginger came down with the flu.  She and her husband both!  So I took her boys (ages 18 months and 4 months) and kept them for sunday and monday and kinda forgot that i made my craft room into their bedroom while they were here!  Whoops!

Anyhoo - this week's challenge we are seeing spots!  Spots of any type will do!
And your only other requirement for the challenge is to use a digi stamp.  It doesn't have to be a PMS stamp, but you know we love to see 'em if you've got 'em!

Here is my card...

I used the Freckled Lemonade digi set (newly added to the site as a digi, though there are still some rubber sets available!)

The paper used it all from Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday and I used copic markers to color the image and the corduroy button is a past in color button from Stampin Up in pacific point.  It's not NEARLY as blue in person as it is on the card.  Ah, don't you know what photography can do!  hahahaha.  Ah well, it matches in person.

Be sure to check out the Paper Makeup Stamps company blog for more inspiration from the digi team!

PMS Digi Makeover Challenge

>> Monday, May 14, 2012

It's time for another PMS digi makeover challenge!

This week, Michelle wanted us to be inspired by the photo below...

The first thing i saw in this photo was the blue bird in the top left corner of the quilt.  I new instantly that I wanted to use the Tweet Things set.  Which, up to this point hadn't been released in digital form yet.
Well, i'm not the owner for nothin'!  So I added it!  HAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!
You can find this new to digi set, here!

Here is my card!

I colored my hummingbird with copies B21, B24, B26 and B26.  I cut the bird and sentiment (also front the set) out with spellbinders dies.

There are a few left of this set in rubber if you want to get it with the closeout price!

Be sure to check out the Company Blog for more awesome samples from the digi artists!

Another Monday with PMS

>> Monday, April 30, 2012

It's another fantabulous Monday with Paper Makeup Stamps and we have another digi makeover challenge for you!  This week we've been challenged to use a sketch for our card!  I really wanted to use Moody for Showers which isn't available on the PMS site yet as a digi.  Lucky for me, i'm the owner so I just added it to the site so I could use it on my card today!  haha!  Yu can find this new digi HERE!

And now here is my card for today!

It uses the sketch below for the challenge

PMS Digi Makeover challenge

>> Monday, April 23, 2012

Phew... I don't know about you, but April is kicking my tail!
I'm very sorry i've been gone the last 2 challenges from PMS and in turn, not made a single post on my blog.  I'm still trying to find a balance between work, my boys and crafting and aside from packing stamp orders, the actually crafting side gets to come last in the grand scheme of things.

But today Michelle challenged us to make a birthday card and i can ALWAYS use a birthday card so I made sure to participate this week, even if it is a simple card.

Ahh... the glorious thing about digis!  I took the Another day word art and enlarged it so that it could be a true focal point of the card.  But i still felt like it missed something, so I layered Lar's Gifts behind it and changed the opacity so it would just be a shadow image.  After that, well the card is pretty much a snap to put together.  :D

Be sure to check out the PMS company blog for more great inspiration from the team!!!!

Digi Makeover Challenge: Wordart

>> Monday, February 20, 2012

Wow, long time no post!
February is usually much slower for me in terms of workload.... NOT THIS YEAR!
I have had many production jobs, a trip to Nebraska with my boys (which is where i was last week) and then with the rubber closeout sale.... phew! It has kept me busy!
The rubber clearance is still going strong at 75% off! Just use the code closeout75 to get the discount!

And now onto this week's digi makeover challenge!
This week, Michelle has challenged us to use a digi word art!

Here is my card...
I've said it before, and Ill say it again... one of the things i love most about digi stamps is the ability to resize the stamp to suit your needs. Here I enlarged the word art from the Home Matters digi set so that it would take focus of my card. BUT then when i went to use my chosen nestie die, i had made the sentiment just SLIGHTLY too big. Drat the cat! But, it was an easy enough fix, i simply made it ever so slightly smaller, reprinted and ada bing bada boom, it was perfecto!

My papers used are from Crate Paper (way old papers... i'm in operation use it up mode and am trying to not purchase any new ones for a bit!)

Be sure to check out the company blog to see the other design team members awesome creations for the challenge!!!

Did you see?! The PMS Digi Makeover Challenge!

>> Monday, September 5, 2011

Woohoo! We recently added a digi team to the Paper Makeup Stamps family! A huge kudos and thanks goes out to Jami who is in charge of this team! And i just get to play along!

Yes PMS has offered digis in the past, but in limitation. We have decided to up the anty a bit and have weekly digi challenges and with that. And some of your favorite digi stamps that we "retired" as digi format on the site will be returned! So stay tuned on that!

Jami has issued our very first challenge to use PMS colors! That should be easy right?!
Now just like many paper crafters, i really enjoy having a stamp in my hand!
BUT there are certain things that digis can do that a rubber stamp can NOT!
For one they are much easier to "mask" when layering. But thats not what i've done today.
You want to know the number 1 best reason to have a digi in my opinion? To CHANGE IT'S SIZE! Thats right, which a digi you can make it match whatever project you are working on. So that means if you want it mega large for a scrapbook layout, you can! or pretty small to fit on a tag, you can do that too!

Here is my project...
Obviously, I went the enlarging route! This is one of the new Color Kids that actually won't be released until September 7th. Yeah, the owner won't fire me. ;)
But isnt she CUTE? I enlarged her quite a bit (the gray cardstock is a full 8.5 x 11 sheet, i put it up against my cricut for size reference!) I also mega enlarged the sentiment to match. Wouldnt this be a fun little encouragement gift for a little girl? She culd even put it in her locker at school! Or maybe just hang it on her wall. :D

here's a close up...

Enlarging digis also makes them mega fun to color!!! This was just the perfect excuse!

Be sure to check out the PMS Digi Makeup Artists and their take on this challenge today!
While you're there be sure to check out our other sneak peeks so far for the September 7th release!!!

PMS Makeup for the Weekend challenge, M4TW25, WT267

>> Friday, April 23, 2010

Everybody's workin for the weekend! Ok, that'll be me this weekend! 2 weddings! A new release to prep for. Stuff to make for MTME. It will be one busy weekend! But, if there is one thing that can get me thru anything, it's beautiful weather! And i particularly like beautiful weather that comes out of bad weather! Ever since i was a little girl i've been fascinated with rainbows, that something so fun and amazing can come some something so blah!

Well, this week's Paper Makeup Challenge (that's right, i'm actually participating, so sad that i dont often, i know!) is to use the colors of the rainbow! Amber challenged us to this! It's so fitting since her blog title is So Many Colors, So Little Time! That girl loves her colors!

Here is my card - probably taking the challenge a smidgen too literally!

This was a way fun card to make. Definitely a little different from my norm. First i just colored the image (with copics) with reckless abandon! I just wanted her bright and colorful and rainbow-ie! Then i suddenly thought, hmm... i wonder if i'll even have any paper to go with this! WOOPS! Then i remember that i had read the Splitcoast Ways to Use it Challenge (WT267) was to use lots of different patterns on a card. So i started thinking about how to use up all those random scrap pieces of paper i can never seem to get rid of! And i knew this would be perfect!

Now here's another fun thing... after i made my new diagonal stripped paper (tip, just glue your pieces together on a thin sheet of paper, THEN cut your rectangle or whatever shape you are making!) I decided, that instead of adhering my image to the top, lets do something a little different! So i took a circle nestabilties die (by spellbinders) and cut out a circle to create a window. Now window cards are not new to the cardmaking world, but i'm not sure i've ever made one, so this was a fun new thing for me!

Here's the inside of my card...

Well since i had already colored my image (remember, with reckless abandon!) I couldnt just have it in the inside of the card because I had already stamped it on a square piece. Drat the cat! SO, i cut the image out with a larger circle nestabilities so that it would still be larger than the window. Yes i repeated the sentiment, only this time i split it up (just by only inking up part of it at a time). I couldnt decide where i liked it better, so i used it both places!
Plus, i LOVE that quote! That Dolly sure does have some good ones! Right up there with Dr Suess in my book!

Ok... i'm beat, it's after midnight (as i type) and i have a full day ahead of me tomorrow! So i'm out like a light! Be sure to check out the Makeup for the Weekend challenge! And check out these Paper Makeup Artists for their awesome and very colorful takes on the challenge!

Have a wonderful weekend! I probably wont have another post up til sunday or monday! :D

I've got a CASE of PMS!

>> Wednesday, September 9, 2009

Man oh Man!  The release party form PMS on Monday was an absolute blast.  But i stayed up til 2 am!  I still havent caught up!  But all the stamps are live on the site and all orders placed have been packed and either shipped or are ready to ship!

So now i get to share with you a card i made for the first of 2 release party challenges!

First, we have 2 release party challenges at every release party.  One is always "I have a CASE of PMS" in which there is some specification of who or what card to case.  This time was pretty general.... just to case ANY card in the PMS gallery on splitcoast!

I chose Shana's card you can see HERE.

I also chose to use a sneak peek of some of the Halloween Monsters that will be released in rubber a little later this month.  Yes a secondary release in September!  Due to some unavoidable circumstances, they werent ready to be released on the 7th.  :)

Here is my card...

I couldnt actually decide which version i liked better... with or without the addition of the googlie eyes.  I like the monsters shifty eyes to begin with.  but the googlie eyes remind me of coke bottle eyes and just crack me up!

If you want to participate in this fun challenge, read all about it HERE

Sentiment from Monster Sentiments from Paper Makeup Stamps

Coloring/Copics

PMS Monday Challenge: Gettin' Sketchy!

>> Monday, July 27, 2009

Todays PMS Monday Challenge is a Sketch from Kim Stewart. I thought this sketch was super fun and i couldnt want to give it a whirl!

here's the sketch...

And here's my card from the sketch!

First I want to say that i LOVE this quote! The 2nd i came across it, i knew i wanted it to be a part of PMS. This is the type of quote that really speaks to me. A very uplifting we can be anything we want to be type. When I told Shaela the quote, she fell in love as well! She was the mastermind behind the wordart on this one and I really think she did an amazing job! Right now this is available as a digi download on the PMS site, but just a little sneakie hint, some of the digi wordarts are being rubberized for the August release. I'm just sayin'. hahaha.

For some reason, i was ALL about the glitz when i made this card! haha. I used some super fun glitter paper by Best Creations! I LOVE this stuff! I wish it didnt retail 2 bucks, but it seriously is the best glitter paper i've ever used! The glitter does not come off what so ever! So you dont get the random glitter stuck to your face! It's easy to diecut. And it just adds so much! Oh, and it comes in a LOT of colors. :)

For my wordart, i cut it out using a Spellbinder die and then left it in the die when i airbrushed it (i'm sure you've seen this all over the place, it's a pretty hot trend right now). But i do love that extra border it leaves. And it's made me want every single spellbinders die there is! haha. I also wanted a bit extra shimmer, so i spritzed on some Shimmerz Spritz in Terracotta. It gave just a subtle hint of shimmering color. Oh so fun! It was the first time i've used any colored spritz. I used the baby's breath all the time though!

For my glitter diecut, i wanted it a longer rectangle, but the die isnt that long. So i cheated! I cut the die, and then layered it underneath the paper and ribbon. It makes it look longer, when it's really not. :) I actually just layered paper on top, but it wasnt glittery. I wanted glitter! So i spread stickles all over it! I loved the look, but it still looked like something was missing. So i layered the ribbon on top of that. I would have preferred a satin ribbon, but I didnt have any in the color i wanted. So i went with grosgrain.

Now onto the flowers! Now this i was very proud of! I love the way these flowers turned out!!! They were just plain ol' ivory flowers that i pick up in the floral section of Hobby Lobby (pull them off the stems and remove the plastic center and you have perfect flowers for cards at über cheap prices! I then used my airbrush and copics again to make them match my paper! You would never be able to tell they werent that color to begin with unless you turned them over! But you can do this yourself without the airbrush, just color right over the flower with the marker. But then again, they werent sparkly! I wanted sparkle darn it! hahahaha. So i spritzed Shimmerz Spritz (in baby's breath this time) over them and let them dry. And oh the soft sparkle they have is DIVINE! Now the spritz from Shimmerz does come in a lot of colors. I didnt want to alter the perfect color i already used with the copics. But i cant wait to use a colored spritz on some ivory flowers. Wouldnt that be pretty! Oh, and now onto the brad. Again, i wanted sparkle and i love making glittery brands using embossing tinsel but darn it, i didnt have brown embossing tinsel! So instead i covered a brad in ranger glossy accents and just dunked it into some brown glitter. It worked like a charm!

Ok, here's

Stamps:
Digi Wordart from Paper Makeup Stamps

Copics (in the airbrush):
On the wordart: E30, E33
On the flowers: BG49

Papers:
Pattered Paper from Martha Stewart Pack
Glitter Paper from Best Creations
Cardstock: Bermuda Bay (SU), Colonial White (CTMH)

Tools and Accessories:
Spellbinders Labels Large
Copic Airbrush
Ivory Grosgrain ribbon from Stampin Up
Fabric Flowers from Hobby Lobby
Shimmerz Spritz: Terracotta, Baby's Breath
Stickles: Aqua (perfectly matches Bermuda Bay by the way!)

Thanks for stopping by everyone! Dont forget to check out the PMS blog to see other variations of this sketch and to upload your own creation and have a chance to win something!

PMS Kitty Challenge with a sneak!

>> Monday, July 6, 2009

So it's Monday which means a new paper makeup stamps challenge!  THis week Meli inspired us to use anything from this picture....

We could use any part of this image as our inspiration. Since PMS doesnt any kitty images, i went with the flowers and colors. Then i realized, Well PMS doesnt have much by the way of flowers either! That needs to be fixed. haha. I guess it's still a new company so the other stamps will come in time. :)

But i still used floral paper! :) And a new sentiment that will be released soon! :) It will even be available as a digi on July 7th! WOOHOO!

I made this little basket using Lauren Meaders Pack a Picnic template from PTI's Timeless Templates. This is my favorite template to date! IT was so easy! And it comes in 2 sizes so you can either make baskets that coordinate, or just choose which size basket it the most appropriate for your project! I chose the small basket because i was making it to hold lots of paper flowers to give to a friend who makes cards and sells them on Etsy so she would need lotsa flowers!

Here's my basket...

I was really happy with how it came out and how easy it was to put it all together. But since i was giving it as a birthday present, now i needed a card! I've also been dying to play with my new copic airbrush more, so i created this card and airbrushed the flower to match my paper!

Here are

Stamps:
If Friends were flowers digi sentiment from Paper Makeup Stamps to be released July 7th
Birthday Wishes sentiment from Paper Makeup Stamps

Copic Airbrush Colors
R81, YR00, YR12

Paper:
Patterned Paper is Magnolia from the Just Dreamy collection

Stamp Something Challenge with PMS

>> Friday, June 19, 2009

And my week escaped me again. One of these days i really will have a handle on posting everyday once again! hahaha. Ok, did i ever really have a handle on that?! I actually have been working on stuff! Some fun tutorials i just have to put together and some other stuff i just cant show you yet! :) OH and dont forget about the PMS Clearance Extravaganza sale going on right now! I know i mentioned it before, and in all the hubbub, i forgot to remention it on here. WOOPS! haha. But there is a LOT on sale! But in limited quantities! Once a certain quantity of the sale stamp is sold, it will go back up to it's regular price (but dont worry, non of the stamps will be gone for good! it's just a chance for you to score some rockin' good deals!) Check out the sale list, here

Ok, onto the post...

This weeks challenge over at the Stamp Something blog is being sponsored by ME! :) It's been awhile since i've done one of their challenges (i've even won before!) so when Erin contacted me to see if i wanted to be a sponsor my answer was a definite yes!

So here's my challenge - Use Black and White (and anywhere inbetween - i'm lovin grey lately!) and any other 1 color of your choice! I've been doing this a lot lately (hint, think of the tutorials i mentioned!), and I just love how it always turns out! Hence why i made it the challenge!

Here's my card...

I'm not gonna lie.... I actually cased THIS CARD by the fabby Kim Stewart. :) But i did make the colors match the challenge for Stamp Something. And i changed the embellies and such. :)

I spritzed the whole thing with some Baby's Breath Shimmerz Spritz. I'm finally getting a handle on that stuff! Shake it up well first and do a test spritz in the air. That gets any of the globbies of spritz mania out and not on your card. After that is goes on PERFECT and EVEN!!!!

See how pretty!

Dont forget to check out the stamp something blog to see the awesome design team samples and also to link up your own card! You have until 7pm EST on June 25th (the day before my birthday might i add!) to link up your card to Mr. Linky. 1 lucky winner will get some of the new releases from PMS which includes Sprinkles and Cherries, Kip the baseball fairy, Picnic Duo fairies and Gus the Birthday Monster! :)

PMS Monday Challenge: Spring A Ding Ding

>> Monday, June 1, 2009

Mornin' everyone!!!  It's monday.... not my favorite day of the week but for some reason i'm pumped to get this next week started.  Maybe it's because the PMS summer release sneak peeks start this week?  Maybe it's because my mama and grandmama are coming into town for the weekend?  I really dont know because my house is a wreck, i feel crazy behind... maybe i'm just looking forward to getting caught up!  But i think i need a spring board to get me there!

And speaking of spring board... thats the inspiration challenge this week at the PMS blog.  This week it was Mindy Baxter's turn to give us a challenge.  Scheduled to be an inspiration challenge, Mindy was really wanting to try the spiral/pop up style of card so we were supposed to get inspired by anything spiral or pop up.  I have never in my life made a pop up card.  It's definitely fun and i think it'd be great when making cards for kids.  What kid doesnt like interactive stuff!  Granted mine would just tear the spiral out of the card, i'm sure!  haha.

First... the front of my card...

I used the bee and sentiment from my Buggy Sayings. This quote is one of my all time favorite quotes and it has been since i was a kid. So obviously it was a natural choice for one of the first PMS sets. Is it bad that this is the first time i've used it!? The bees are actually COVERED in spica pen but since i took this photo last night, there was no good light to catch the glimmer.

And onto the inside of my card...

Since this is my very first spiral or even pop up card, i was very pleased with the turn out. :) These little bees make me smile. :)

Ok, no go over to the PMS blog to see more fabby creations and to do the challenge yourself!
