It's time for a PMS blog hop!
>> Monday, June 7, 2010
Holy CRAP! When did it get to be the 7th?! I guess since i didnt participate in each day of the sneak peeks (just not enough hours in a day!) it crept up on me fast!!! We made an 11 hour drive yesterday back from nebraska to my parents house in Indiana. Jack made an adorable ring bearer and i'll have pics and such of that for you very soon! But first, I have some business to attend to! It's the PMS blog hop for the June Release! If you've hopped here from Lisa McKinney's blog, then you are in the right spot! if not... well geez, i'm the last stop and you've missed some AWESOME stuff! GO back to the PMS blog to catch up!
Okily dokily...Here is my card...
I used the new Freckled Lemonade set for this card! This set is FULL of some fun lemonade images including a very large pitcher that is large enough to use on a scrapbook layout! I went with the solid lemon image and the sweet wordart.
Now first i would like to say, i did some "ghetto" crafting for this card and i would like to say i think it turned out pretty darn cute! I had a pad of Cosmo Cricket's Garden Variety paper with me (thanks to my pal Amy from Caffinated Cropper who sent it to me just before i left town so i just tucked it into my bag with me). I had a mat stack from DCWV with me and luckily a few sheets matched great. And then when i went to stamp i went, oh shoot. I have nothing to stick this stamp to! So i took soem plain scotch tape and wound it around itself to stick it onto a block! Then i thought, oh shoot, i dont have any colored ink with me. No worries... would you know that my 4 year olds crayola pip squeak markers worked FANTASTIC! WOOHOO!
I used last weeks Mojo Monday sketch. Of course now i cant add it because the linky is closed, but it was still a cute sketch! :D
So thats my card for you! I still have a letter for you too! Don't forget, collect each letter from the blogs in the hop today and you get a 15% discount code for the new release! My letter is E!
There, now wasnt that fun? :D I hope to see you tonight at the release party in our forum!! 8pm CST, be there or be square!
Thanks for you support... with PMS and some MOJO134

Happy Halloween - I've got a spell for you!
>> Saturday, October 31, 2009
Ok, so my card for you today is totally not halloween themed.... though i had originally planned for it to be! Oh well! I'm very happy with how it turned out. But then what in the world does my blog post title mean? Well, over at Paper Makeup Stamps, it's week 5 of the Countdown to Christmas sale. In honor of this spooky day, ALL spellbinders are 31% off. They'll probably go fast, so if you are looking to pick any up, get over there now!
Here is what i did with the sketch...

A Cupcake for Dawn!
>> Friday, July 17, 2009
My dear friend, Dawn, just celebrated a birthday. I made this card for her. With all intentions of getting it up on my blog FOR her birthday. But it was during my slight leave of absense. hahahaha. I also used the monday mojo sketch from this week!
I used the Sprinkles and Cherries set from Paper Makeup Stamps. This set is fun because it's like a buildable cupcake. I added the cherry AND the sprinkles (or they could be chocolate chips which is what i decided when i stamped them in brown). But there is also a candle you can put in there. There are a few sentiments with interchangeable words. All in all, just a fun set to mix up.
I paperpieced my cupcake top with with of the retired DP from Stampin Up called Candy Lane. (The bottom of my cupcake is colored with Copics). I still like to add a little bit of shading when i do paperpiecing, especially on larger pieces. So i took my T1 grey copic marker and just did a little bit on the cupcake. It helps make it stand out, i think! The cherry was stamped on top but also stamped onto neenah white cardstock and cut out and glued on top.
Ok... onto...
Stamps:
Sprinkles and Cherries set from Paper Makeup Stamps
Coloring with Copics:
Cupcake Base: R000, R00, R30
Cherry: R24, R27
Shading T1

Cardstock: Close to Cocoa (SU), Sweet Blush (PTI), Maraschino (Bazzill), Solar White (Neenah)
Tools and Accessories
Ribbon from AC Moore
And just a quick shout out to my friend Robby before i go! He's been working hard to run in the NYC marathon! I'm very proud of him! He has been working hard to raise the money needed to secure his spot in the race. He is currently being trained by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and all the money goes directly to them. I'm not asking you to donate (i know times are tough!) but if this is cause you support, and you dont have someone you already sponsor, would you consider helping my friend reach his goal? Secure donations can be made HERE. I'm not asking you to donate (i know times are tough!) but if this is cause you support, and you dont have someone you already sponsor, would you consider helping my friend reach his goal? Mojo89 and the staying power of kaisercraft bling
>> Tuesday, June 2, 2009
First of all... yesterday was a baaaad day! I hate the post office. I am not pleased with 3 year old "attitude". And i really dislike when stores dont honor the signs they've left up (unless there is a date on the sign of when the sale ends... in this case, there wasnt). So yeah, not a fun day. So last night I told my hubby i needed some mind calming time with my stamps! And there was an adorable Mojo Sketch yesterday with the bonus of it being the first mojo sketch of the month which means not only a cute sketch but a prize attached to it. ahhhh. nothing like mind calming crafting when you know you just might win something to boot. :)
So here's my card...
I'm actually pretty pleased with the turn out but then i usually am when i use one of Julee's sketches. She kind of does all the hard part for you! :) here's a quick view of her sketch...
For the card i used some patterned paper that a friend, Carri D sent to me. Actually, she sent it all folded up in a super cute envelope style, but i couldnt bear to just let it never be used so i just pieces out of it to use on the card! Unfortunately i had no idea what company it's from. I've emailed her and will edit the post to add that information later! :) ETA: It's Martha Stewart paper! Nice and thick, double sided and available at walmart. I'm on my way!
Here's a close view of the butterfly, i dont think you can tell that it's popped up from the front view!
I used a martha stewart butterfly punch to punch a negative space in the white circle but also punched out of the brown cardstock to pop it up above the negative space. And i'm not sure if this is a good thing or not, but my 3 year old saw the card this morning and asked "mama, is that stickles on that butterfly" to which i said, why yes it is! Should my 3 year old know what stickles look like?
Oh, and here's my funny story about the staying power of kaisercraft bling and pearls (just skip down if you only want the details of the card!). So last night when making this card, i was using chocolate pearls by kaisercraft. I LOVE these! They are so pretty and i can barely keep them in stock on the PMS website! :) Well, i was opening a new package and pulled a little too hard to get them out and a few went flying off. I found all of them but 1. I looked all over the ground, nothing. Oh well, they are very affordable bling and i figured no biggie that i couldnt find one. This morning, i noticed something on my toenail. I looked closer and it was a chocolate pearl! That means it lasted all night in bed and thru my shower this morning without falling off. AND i didnt stick it on there, it just must have landed there when it fell. Now thats some strong adhesive!
Dont forget sneak peeks for the PMS summer release start tomorrow! :)
Read on for more specific details of this card...

A little OCC Verve challenge
>> Thursday, October 30, 2008
I finally completed this card! I made my sentiment piece days ago but i figured i better get into action to get the rest of the card done so i could finish this challenge on time!!! The rest of the card came together easily... it's just been 1 crazy week!
Ok - so hop on over to OCC (our creative corner). You can see all of the entries for this challenge there. but Julee from Verve Visuals is hosting this week at OCC and her challenge was to use something called "Vintage Values". Thats when you use ink to shade in the edges. She does a superb job of explaining the process on her blog... so i'm just gonna suggest you hop there next. Here's a link to that entry. But let me just say that her card is AUH-Mazing! Really. I was blown away.
Ok, here's my card...
First, i do love how my sentiment piece turned out! I stamped out my sentiment from Verve's Beautiful You set using Juniper ink from CTMH. Then using versamark, i stamped the flower from the same Verve set. Using shimmering chalks (by pebbles ink), I added color to the flower focusing on the petals away from the sentiment. I did still chalk the petals under the sentiment, just not with as much color. Then i used the vintage value technique all the way around using Juniper Ink and Twilight Ink (both close to my heart). The rest of the card i think is pretty self explanatory!!!! My other cardstock choices were sweet leaf and colonial white both by CTMH. :)
