ISSC04 - Flowers for you

Happy Friday everyone! Now that it's the end of the week you all know what that means don't you? Well if you don't, let me fill you in. It's time for another iSpy Sketches challenge (ISSC04) *insert cheers of joy* :)

This week our sketch is based off of this card by Heather Klump. I just love her cards that this sketch is no different :) I used the image called Flower Garden by Stamping Bella and water coloured it with my tombow dual brush pens. I then added some re-inkers for the background, some chalk for shading and then finished off the image with some sponging.

My image was a little bit on the larger side so I had to adjust my measurements accordingly so it's not completely true to the original card but that's were creative liscence comes into play :) While I was at the PJ Crop in Washington this past weekend I picked up these pretty papers :) The pink is from My Minds Eye Lime Twist line and the Blue (Stella Rose) is a 6x6 My Mind's Eye paper pack that I purchased from The Ribbon Carousel :)

Thanks for joining me this week and don't tell the rest of the girls that I have included this but here is a photo that was taken of a few of us iSpy Sketch girls from the crop ;) They are going to have my heads for posting this! lol

*Warning*
No cosmetics, hairbrushes, or decent wardrobes were used in the making of this photo...it was a PJ crop after all :D

ISSC02 - Slow Down

Hi everyone! I'm back this week for another challenge over at the iSpy Sketches blog :) This week's ISSC02 sketch is based of this beautiful card by the one and only Beate Johns!

So when I drew up the sketch I drew it as Beate had it on her card...and then when I went to make my card, I imagined another panel on it. Purely by mistake, I swear! So, I'm going to go with "this is my interpretation" of Beate's beautiful card :D

The little turtle has been water coloured, cut out and then shaded with chalks and given a nice thick coat of crystal effects :) I popped him up on a sponged background and to finish off the card I added the super sweet stamping bella sentiment :D

Do you want to play along with the Secret Agents? Join us for our ISSC02 Challenge over at the iSpy Sketches blog :D See you over there!

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Stamping Bella (sentiment) and Inky Antics (turtle)
Paper: Watercolour, Miscellaneous DP
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Suede, Baja, Teal, Caramel
Accessories: Cuttlebug and Embossing Folders, Spellbinders Dies, Clear Embossing Powder, Tombow Dual Brush Pens, Crystal Effects, Cloud Template, Buttons, Twine, Corner Chomper, Chalks

ISSC01 - An iSpy Sketches First :D

Hi Everyone! I'm excited to announce that the very first iSpy Sketches challenge ISSC01 is now up over at the iSpy Blog and am equally excited to announce that I actually made a card for it. *grins* This marks the first card that I have made since June of last year!

So try not to critique it too much as I did fudge up the image quite a bit. The image is one of the 4 pixies that come in "The Pixies" set by Stamping Bella. This sweet little pixie's hair was supposed to be blond and her arms aren't really supposed to have red smudges in them, but that's what you get when you put everything away for 8 months and let yourself get rusty ;)

Thanks for joining me today and pop on by the iSpy Sketches Blog to see what the other Secret Agents were inspired to make and who inspired them this week :D

***On a side note, if you are interested in purchasing any of my cards, I will be listing some (including this one) in my Card Shoppe in the next few days :D

Card Recipe:

Stamps: The Pixies from Stamping Bella
Paper: Water Colour, Espresso, Cosmo Cricket, October Afternoon
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Kiwi, Olive, Espresso
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Spellbinders, Scallop Punch, Twine, Clear Embossing Powder, Buttons, Sponges, Water Brush, Tombow Dual Brush Pens, Chalk Pencils, Quickie Glue Pen, Glitter, Cuttlebug and Embossing Folders, Stickles, Corner Chomper

Bellarific Little Miss Thang

Happy Bellarific Friday! I have a sweet little clean and simple card to show you today for our ink what you haven't used challenge. I used the "Is That a Cupcake On Your Head?" stamp and paired it with the "Little Miss Thang" stamp to create a simple little card to add to my rather depleted stash of kids birthday cards. You see, it's generally a given that I will forget that my kids have a birthday party to go to until the very last minute and then I will stay up all night the night before the party to create a card. So with all this said, I'm trying to get a wee bit ahead of the game :D

I kept this one fairly simple because I think that the little diva in the center kind of speaks for herself :) She's a balancing act queen and models her cupcakes instead of eating them :D She was water coloured with tombow markers and blended with a water brush and then I added some shading with a chalk pencil. To create the line around the perimeter or the sentiment, I used a fine line Micro Liner.

So who is ready for next week's challenge? This challenge is inspired by the colour Aquamarine and just perfect for the start of March! As always, don't forget to email Em (emily@stampingbella.com) by Thursday evening if you would like a chance to win some bella bucks :D

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Stamping Bella - Little Miss Thang and Is That a Cupcake on Your Head?
Paper: Black, Teal, Water Colour
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Clear Embossing Powder, Tombow Markers, Water Brush, Micro Liner, Quickie Glue Pen, Glitter, Chalk Pencil

Bellarific Mavis Journal

Happy Bellarific Friday everyone! Today's challenge was a sketch brought to you by Ebru and I took it and created a little altered soft covered journal. I used my Mavis has a daisy stamp and water coloured her with tombows, sponged the background with baja ink and then coloured the grass in with prisma pencils and gamsol.

I added some leaf punchies from my Martha Stewart punch and used the rolled flower die from MFT to create the little flower. I popped a pomegranate bella bauble into the center to tie in some of the red from the background and then used some twine from the twinery to finish off the corner adornment :)

Next week's challenge is to ink up what you haven't used! That's right ladies, dust 'em off, get 'em inky and take them for a test run! Pretty easy huh? :) As always don't forget to email Em (emily@stampingbella.com) by Thursday evening if you would like a chance to win some bella bucks :D

Stamps: Stamping Bella - Mavis Has A Daisy

CAS106 - Moonlight Bird

Ever have one of those days where you have a ton of stuff that you need to be working on and then get sidetracked with a fun challenge that just begs to be played with? It happens to me on occasion and the Bella image that I was water colouring got set aside so that I could play along with yesterday's Clean and Simple challenge over at SCS - CAS106. Normally clean and simple cards are very hard for me to create but when I stumbled upon this challenge, the vision of the card that I wanted to make just popped into my head and away I went with it :D

I have had the Branch with Birdie set for quite some time and it sat on my shelf all lonely like and un-inked *horrors*. I pulled it down, dusted it off and attacked it with black versafine ink to create my silhouettes. I added some sponging with various shades of blue for the sky and then sahara sand and saffron for the moon. The card was meant to be simple, so I added some stitching and a bow to finish it off with a tag sentiment from the Billboardabella Words Only set.

Hope you like my card and now I'm off to finish up the image that I was originally working on...guess you will all just have to see that one for my Bellarific Friday post ;) Toodles for now :D

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Stamping Bella - Branch With Birdie, Billboardabella Words Only Sentiments
Paper: Black, Water Colour, Soft Sky, Imanginece
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Saffron, Baja, Pacific, Navy, Sand
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Sponges, Button, Ribbon, Rhinestone, Cuttlebug and Embossing Folders, Cuttlebug Tag Die, Linen Thread, Spellbinders Standard Circle Die

Bellarific Circles

Happy Bellarific Friday! This week we are going around the bend and creating Circle cards :) These are always fun to make for something a little bit different. I used the cute Curly Ewe stamp from Stamping Bella to create this sweet circle and I was aiming for Easter-ish but I think that it ended up more like a mocking Valentine ;)

I used up some scraps for this card and combined some old SU paper with some My Mind's Eye polka dots. The Ewe was water coloured with Tombow Markers and a Water brush and shaded with my super fave chalk pencil.

So are you ready for next week's challenge? It's a sketch by Ebru and it's perfect for those tall images that you have been itching to use :) Don't forget to email your creation to Emily (emily@stampingbella.com) before Thursday evening to get in to win a chance at some bella bucks! Have fun and thanks for coming by today :D

Kilo Watt

Happy half-way-through-the-week day! I'm back with this cute little robot called Kilo Watt from Stamping Bella. When I was away last week in Washington State, I managed to get some images coloured up and this little sweetie was one of them. The funny part of me colouring up images in advance is that none of the images that I did fit any of this week's sketch challenges in blog land, nor did I remember to cut a coordinating mat for the oval because I was borrowing someone else's dies. Bad luck on my part, but that just meant that I had to create my own layout and that I got to sit in my chair a little longer to play with some shapes ;)

Kilo Watt was water coloured with my tombows and a water brush and then shaded with a chalk pencil. I water coloured the background and sponged it with some pumpkin ink and then added some tiny dots of glue with a quickie glue pen and finished it off with some warm white glitter.

Just a reminder that this week's Bellarific Challenge is to make a circle card. You all have until Thursday evening to email you purdy pictures to Em (emily@stampingbella.com) to be entered to win some Bella Bucks and to see your card proudly displayed on Bloggabella. Hope to see you there :D

Stamps: Stamping Bella - Kilo Watt
Paper: Gina K, Water Colour, Espresso, My Mind's Eye DP

Bellarific Valentines

Happy Bellarific Friday!  This week's challenge was to use any Stamping Bella stamp and create a Valentine card and I took on the challenge in a rather small form...a lunch box Valentine for my daughter :)

I combined the Little Peep's Heart stamp with the largest of my Spellbinders Classic and Scalloped Rectangle dies to create this mini, almost artist trading card sized top fold card. I water coloured the background with some re-inkers, and then used my tombows and water brush for the little girl. I paper pieced the heart with some My Mind's Eye polka dot paper and then sponged it with some rose ink for the shading. To finish it off,  I added a rolled flower and popped a lemonade bella bauble into the center and combined the flower with some Martha Stewart leaf punchies.

Thank for coming by today and for those of you who want to play along in next week's Bellarific Challenge here is your challenge: Circle Shaped Cards. That means any Stamping Bella images, colours and sketches welcome...really anything your heart desires :D Please remember to email Emily (emily@stamingbella.com) your creation by Thursday for a chance to win some bella bucks and for your card to appear over at Bloggabella :D

What's Brewin'?

Good morning! What better way to start your morning that with a cuppa java. Don't have one? No worries! I have one brewing up for you in a style that's orange and blue and cute all over :D I used my Percolator Circle stamp from Stamping Bella to create this vibrant and fun card.

It's a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4" card that was water coloured with tombow markers and a water brush and I did some cheating shading with my chalk pencil - it's kind of my new favourite thing to do at the moment. For the center of the percolator I added a butterscotch sundae bauble to add a touch of whimsy and to cover up the obscenely pink center of the flower that I got a little carried away on ;) Gotta love a well placed embellishment to hide those boo boos :D

Don't forget that the babes are back this week with a Valentine's Bellarific Challenge for you. Any Stamping Bella Stamps put together in Valentine's fashion will do so off you go and start creating! Don't forget to email Emily (emily@stampingbella.com) your creation by Thursday so that you can be included in a chance to win some Bella Bucks :D

Fuchsias for Lulu

Hi everyone and welcome to this week's edition of non Bellarific Friday ;) I say non because Miss Emily has packed up the store and shipped it off to CHA for the next couple of days so she is a little bit on the insanely busy side of things :) Despite there not being a Bellarific Friday post, I do still have a card to share with you.

For today's card, I used this gorgeous Fuchsias for Lulu stamp by Stamping Bella. I have had this one for awhile but have to admit...I was a little bit intimidated by it because of it's rather large size and because I have seen the some of the other Babes colour it up and didn't think that I could do it justice. I gave it an attempt and have to admit. I'm actually quite impressed with myself :) I love the way it turned out and was even brave enough to used some really bright ribbon on the card too (for those of you who don't already know this...I tend to shy away from purples and hot pink colours). Now, after saying this....the card didn't quite photograph well to get the true hot pinkness of this ribbon!

While Emily is away meeting crafting celebrities and schmoozing in LA, she promised to try to post some of her findings at CHA in all of it's crafty goodness - keep checking back on Bloggabella for some of this sneak peeks and while your there check out the new release and the FREE SHIPPING deets :) Next week we are back with a Valentine's Bellarific Challenge. Any Stamping Bella Stamps put together in Valentine's fashion will do so off you go and start creating! Don't forget to email Emily (emily@stampingbella.com) your creation by Thursday so that you can be included in a chance to win some Bella Bucks :D

Thanks for coming by today and TGIF :D

Bee Mine

Happy Monday! Well it is Monday so maybe it's not all that happy for those of you who work outside the home, so this card is for you just to make you smile :D From a stay at home mamma's perspective....Monday's are very happy around here because after hearing my kids fight all weekend...it's some very welcome peace and quiet ;)

I got the Beeemine Huggabug from Stamping Bella in the mail the other day and because Valentine's day is just around the corner, I decided that she needed to be front and center on my colouring list :D I have been lacking in the mojo department these last couple of days so I settled my buns at my computer and surfed around the blogosphere to find some sketches to get me motivated. This card follows the Card Patterns Sketch CP99.

Little miss Beeemine has been water coloured with some tombow markers and shaded with some chalk pencil. The green background that she sits on was water coloured first with some re-inkers and then sponged it with some Moss ink.

Just a reminder to all of you Bellarific Girls, since Emily will be having a blast at CHA this week, there will be no Bellarific Challenge on Friday. The Babes will be back in full force on Feb 4th so rest up until then because we will be putting you to work :)

The Monstah Bash

A Bellarific birthday bash that is! Happy Bellarific Friday everyone! It's not really any of the babe's birthdays, but this week's challenge was to use any Stamping Bella stamp in any way that you wanted. That's right folks...it's a free form challenge :D

Ever since Stamping Bella released this Monstah Bash image, I have wanted it :) These little monsters just make me smile! These fun little characters have brought along the glitter confetti and a very special blue balloon just for today's challenge ;) They have been dressed in their best vibrant colours using tombows and a water brush and stand amongst a sponged backdrop and some chalked shadows. Not only are they dressed in their best vibrant colours but the yellow cutie in the middle wore his freckles and that's a big thing because he's usually the shy one of the bunch ;)

Due to the Bella herself being at CHA next week, there will not be a Bellarific Friday challenge and instead, Emily will be trying to post some updates over at Bloggabella. Speaking of blogging...have you seen the sneak peeks of the new stamps? *swoon* Click on over to Bloggabella and take a lookie lou :D

Thanks for coming by and I hope that your day is less rainy than mine! I swear that someone is going to need to build and Arc for my family and my stamps soon....

SFYTT - Owlways Love You

Love is in the air for these love birds *giggle* Get it? Love birds? Ok, it's late and I'm tired and my sad and pathetic jokes are proving it because I start to say things like "not only are they in love but they are in love owlways and forever" *snort* ...somebody put me to bed!

Ahhh....Ok...I'm over it. I will try to keep my silliness in check and  tell you all about my card using the Cuddly Owlies stamps from Stamping Bella. This card was made for the January sketch over at the I heart 2 stamp blog. As of this month and to start the New Year with a little change, Jen took the SFYTT challenge and made it into a sketch that runs all month as opposed to new ones uploaded weekly. So my wonderful readers...if you would like to play along then you have until the very end of January to link your creations here.

I know that you all will be totally surprised when I tell you that these cuties were water coloured with tombows and a water brush. Please try and hold your shock a little longer because I know that this one's going to blow your socks off...it was popped up and sponged too *wink* One of these days I'm really going to surprise you and try something new, but I'm going to keep you on pins and needles waiting for that day to come ;0)

Thanks for coming by :D

The Babe's are back!

TGIF! The Bella Babes are back and ready to take on 2011 with this week's cards :) Today we were challenged  to make a card based on this sketch:

...and because I made the sketch, that means that I can fudge it a little doesn't it? No? Oops ;) While I was busy making this card I didn't have my sketch sitting in front of my and I accidentally made the triangle panel cover a little more of the card than in the original sketch. Oh, well.

I used Solly 'Tude for the main image and the sentiment Love is in the air from Stamping Bella. I water coloured Solly 'Tude with my tombow markers and a water brush but only cut out and popped up the balloons. I applied hints of glitter to the back drop for just a wee bit of twinkle because twinkles make everyone happy :D

Thank for coming by today and for those of you who want to play along in next week's Bellarific Challenge here is your challenge: Free Form. That means any Stamping Bella images, colours and sketches welcome...really anything your heart desires :D Please remember to email Emily (emily@stamingbella.com) your creation by Thursday, January 13th for a chance to win some bella bucks and for your card to appear over at Bloggabella :D

Mojo173 - My heart is for you

Hi everyone! I'm currently writing this post while a blizzard is going on and my kids are whispering thoughts of a snow day tomorrow so that they can go sledding :) It's kind of cute and I'm pretty sure that there wish will come true since they cancel school for almost no snow on the ground in these parts ;)

A couple of week's ago, Mr Brown delivered a big FAT package of Stamping Bella stamps to my doorstep and in it were all kinds of luscious Valentine's day stamps so here I am with a Turtle Tots Love is in the Air stamp and a Mojo173 sketch challenge card :)

Since I am in serious need of some new designer papers and a trip to our local scrapbooking store won't be feasible until Saturday...you see me using up my scrap pile of miscellaneous patterned papers. The little turtle has been water coloured with tombows and a water brush and is sporting some lovely pastel rosy cheeks. If you look closely, you will notice that I masked off the basket that came attached on the main image...it didn't fit in my oval for the sketch ;)

Psst...did you hear? It's almost Bellarific Friday so here is your challenge! We are back this Friday with some Stamping Bella goodness and the babes are itching to see your creations :) Don't forget to email Emily (emily@stamingbella.com) your creation by Thursday, January 13th for a chance to win some bella bucks and for your card to appear over at Bloggabella :D

Got the Flu?

Because it seems like the Flu is a never ending winter misery, I thought that I would make this card bright and cheery for anyone who is down for the count with the flu bug...or should I say huggabugg ;) This sweet image is from Stamping Bella and is called Fluey Huggabugg. When I first saw her in the store, I knew that this little sick bug would be coming to live with me very soon :)

This little cutie has been water coloured with tombow markers and then popped up to become dimensional. I sponged the background in and then added some shading with some prisma pencils and gamsol to create some ground for her to sit on. Her wings have a heavy duty coat of stickles on them, mostly because stickles make me happy and if they make me happy then they are sure to put a smile on a person who needs some night time, sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, stuffy hear, fever, so-you-can-rest medicine ;0)

We are about to get started with the 2011 edition of Bellarific Fridays so here is your challenge! We are back on January 14th and the babes are itching to see your creations :) Don't forget to email Emily (emily@stamingbella.com) your creation by Thursday, January 13th for a chance to win some bella bucks and for your card to appear over at Bloggabella :D

Love is in the Air

Hi everyone! Since Christmas is so last year now, I have moved on to some Valentines ;) This card came about from me just playing around with some scrap paper. I ended up transferring the idea on to some water colour paper and created a card with it because it's not generally the type of card that I make - virtually flat ;)

I started by using my spellbinders heart die to cut out a heart shape and then set the heart aside and only used the scrap of paper that it came from. I then used it as a mask to create the heart with some sponges and inks onto the water colour paper. I used two Stamping Bella stamps on this card (Love is in the Air and Valentine Sprig with Birdie) and stamped the Valentine Sprig with Bird right over top of my sponged heart and coloured it from there.

The heart was then shaded with some chalks and I applied a thin coat of stickles to the hanging hearts to spruce up the card a bit. I used the Love is in the Air stamp and cut out the words to individually place on the card to fill up some of the space. I don't generally do this but I quite like the look :D

Since it's after Christmas now, it's time to get started with the 2011 edition of Bellarific Fridays! We are back on January 14th and the sketch above is your challenge :) I thought that you all might like a little bit of a head start so ladies....start your engines and go! Don't forget to email Emily (emily@stamingbella.com) your creation for a chance to win some bella bucks and for your card to appear over at Bloggabella :D

Card Recipe:

Paper: Black, Pink, Water Colour
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Pink, Rose, Mambo, Eggplant
