Welcome to Paper Inkspirations!

Hi! My name is Krissy, welcome to my blog. I have been an avid paper-crafter for many years, my addiction started with scrapbooking and has evolved to card-making. It all started when I realized that I had forgotten to buy a card for my nephew's birthday. Looking at my ever-expanding collection of scrapbook supplies, I thought I'd made a card for him. Since then, I've been hooked on card-making and my scrapbooks have been collecting dust. Someday I'll get back to them... I have two beautiful boys and a wonderful & supportive husband and I work at the Preschool at our church. When I'm not spending time with my family or making cards, I enjoy being active in our church. Life is good! Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy your visit.

Take time to get inky today....

Mr & Mrs

It's June and that means weddings!  Within the last 6 weeks or so, two of my cousins have gotten engaged and love is in the air in our family!

I love the simple lines of this Happy Couple stamp by Stampendous.  The coordinating Mr. & Mrs., couldn't be more perfect!  I colored this image with Prismacolor Pencils and blended with tortillons and GooGone.  Yep, really, the stuff that gets the "goo" off of stuff!  It's perfect for breaking down the pigment in some colored pencils and blends them nicely.  Who knew?

I added a bit of Perfect Pearls to the veil and gown, to mimic the Dotted Swiss Cuttlebug folder I used at the bottom of the panel.  A touch of sheer silver ribbon and VOILA!  Simple wedding card!  It would be easy to customize this card according to the wedding colors just by changing the colors of the flowers and the cummerbund & bow tie.

All of the products used to make this card are available at Michaels.  So, don't get caught at the last minute without a card for your summer weddings.

Hope all is well in your corner of the world and that you are surrounded by love today!

Take time to get inky!

Hoppin' with Core'dinations

This week Stampendous has paired up with Core'dinations to show off some great products!  Core'dinations makes some really great card stock!  The core is a different color from the surface  and when sanded, torn or distressed, the core shows through to provide contrast.  How fun!

For my card today, I used green Core'dinations card stock and ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Happy Birthday embossing folder.  I then sanded it to reveal the lighter core.  What a great effect!  The adorable image on this card is Icing Fluffles.  I colored Fluffles with my Prismacolor Pencils and added a bit of Crystal Glitter by Stampendous.  I added a beautiful silk ribbon by May Arts and VOILA!  A fun birthday card to add to my stash!

Are you ready to see what beautiful inspiration is waiting for you to explore?  It's time for you to sit down with a cup of coffee and check out my fellow teammates' blogs.  You are sure to be wowed!  Leave a little love along the way and you will be eligible for some fun prizes!

Time for me to get busy today - we are celebrating my son's 7th birthday this weekend and I have lots to do!  Hope all is well with you and that you'll take time to get inky today!

Dream-Pendous!

Get ready to be inked, pasted, encrusted, stenciled and stamped! All of this week the Dreamweaver Stencils' Dream Team and theStampendous Design Teams will be providing some "Dream-pendous" inspiration for you, with multiple opportunities to win some fabulous prizes from both companies. Each day this week, you will be directed from both the Stampendous Impressions' blog or theDream It Up! blog to the players du jour for your oohing and aaahing pleasure. Everyone will be playing on Saturday, the 14th with our final hop for the week. This is your opportunity to see how to mix and mingle your creativity...if you are a stenciler, you will be fascinated at combining stamps with your first love. If you are a stamper, you will be wowed at how stencils can add to your impressions.

This is the first time I've worked with stencils and really had a lot of fun!  I used the beautiful LJ899 Petals Background Stencil and ran it through my Cuttlebug, then before removing my stencil inked it up with Tsukineko Aloe Vera ink.  I then stamped one of my favorite  Stampendous stamps, Dragonfly Vine with VersaMark ink.  I love the wayEmerald PEARLustreAmethyst PEARLustre and Detail Gold Embossing Powders look when used together on an image.  They almost look iridescent - LOVE IT!!!
To see all the beautiful stencils Dreamweavers offers, be sure to check them all out here.
Be sure to leave comments as you tour the blogs (with your email addy!) for a chance to win these great prizes one of three combined sets of theseDreamweaver and Stampendous goodies:

OK, are you ready to see what everyone else has created for your sweet inspiration today?  Grab a cup of coffee and take a look at the following blogs, but before you leave don't forget to leave me some love!

Penny Black Snowman

What's this????  Three days in a row that I'm posting?????  AMAZING!  Let's hope it's a habit!

Today I wanted to show you the thank you notes I made for our family's Christmas gifts.  I made a few extra and stamped other greetings so I can use them throughout the winter for birthdays or just "thinking of you" notes.

Not only does this card use one of my favorite snowman images, I also got to use my new Cuttlebug machine!  I've been wanting one for years, and Mom and Dad surprised me with one for Christmas - it was, hands down, my favorite Christmas gift!  I'm sure it will get a good workout on my craft table!  Also, I used Copics for the first time.  I definitely need a lot of work on my Copic skills!  I don't have many yet, but they are fun to use.

recipe:  Penny Black Warm & Cold; Hero Arts Everyday Sayings; Recollections Black and red card stock; DCWV Holiday Stack, Glitter Mat Stack; Copics R20,R24, YG63, YG67; Prismacolor Pencils; Tsukineko Tuxedo Black ink; Recollections silver snowflake brads; Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles embossing folder; Sizzix Snowflake Die; Crystal Stickles

Ok, friends, time for me to get my day started!  Hope you have a great one and that you take time to get inky today!

DICC Challenge

Good morning!  It's the 15th of the month, so that means it's time for another DICC challenge. This week we're using Lelia Pierce's itinerary:

1) Monochromatic
2) Stitching
3) Metal
4) Embossing
5) No Designer/Pattern Paper
6) Handmade Flower
7) Distressing
8) Sentiment
9) Up Cycle
10) Chipboard

For my card I chose to use #s 2,3,4 and 5,  I needed a card for my little guy to give his buddy, Tyler, for his 6th birthday.  I love this little Stampendous Fluffles Football stamp - and when I saw these "oh-so-cute" football brads and Michaels I knew I had to have them to use with Fluffles!

recipe:  Stampendous  Fluffles Football; Recollections Spice Market card stock pack; Primary card stock pack; Football brads; Zig black pen; JoAnn's ribbon; Primscolor Pencils, Goo Gone, Tortillons; Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles Embossing Folder; Tuskineko Tuxedo Black ink

Have a wonderful day and take time to get inky!
