Home for the Holidays

Good Morning!
Today is a hard morning for me, as this is my last post with
The Chicks.  Our lives are changing right now so my priority will
be with my family.
I want to thank Lori and Leanne for being my partners in crafting
since the beginning of 4 Crafty Chicks. It has been an
awesome dream to do this blog with my friends.
(7 1/2 years still going strong and very proud of it).
Nance it has been a pleasure getting to know you
and work with you this last year.
I would like to welcome Amy Ottmers, who will be taking over my
perch in the Hen house, next week.

We are on Challenge #383 and Lori is our hostess this
week. She has an awesome challenge for us.

Challenge #383 - Glitter

My image above show ornaments. Our family friend Ang was
at our house and she wanted to make ornaments
for Christmas presents so I joined her.
We used pledge floor cleaner and tons of glitter.
The glitter was Martha Stewart and I have had them
for years. It was a blast and so easy.
Then we added rub -ons to the outside and Sharpie oil base markers.

Join us for our last challenge of 2017.

for my side and hubby's side.

Tis The Season

Good afternoon friends!
My post for 4 Crafty Chicks is a few days late
It has been a hectic time but it sure is
nice to get into my craft room and create a new
creation each week.

Our wonderful hostess this week is Nance
and she has a fun filled challenge, that had me digging
into my old stash of stamps.

Challenge #381 Christmas/Winter Critters

The first thing I did this week was remember this stamp
Animals at Christmas time are super dooper cute
I adore penguins and I love, love, love bears.
Just had to find this oldie but goodie.
So out came the dazzling diamonds, the copic markers,
dies, embossing folder and pattern paper to create this card.

We would really love to see you join us this week.
You still have time to play at 4 Crafty Chicks
as our challenge ends on Tuesday 12 noon
Mountain Standard Time
Be sure to share some love with our fellow DT's and GDT
Their inspiration is simply fabby

White on White

 Good Morning!
4 Crafty Chicks Thursday is here with a new challenge.
Leanne is bringing us the challenge this week and it is wonderful.

Challenge #340 - Monochromatic

I decided to use white on white for our challenge, with Gina Marie Design Dies
a little bit of texture and Stampin' Up whisper white.
My lighting is a little off on the pictures but hopefully the details come through.

Come and join us for our #340 challenge this week.

Merry Christmas

Good morning!
Today at 4 Crafty Chicks, we have an Anything Goes Challenge
Lori is our hostess for Challenge #379.

Summer found this cool card that she cased last weekend from Pinterest. Should have taken a picture of her favorite one (next time, she is very talented). Click for details from Gemma Evans
DIY Christmas Cards: Reindeer Fingerprint Cards
It was fun to try and do my own take on this card.
It was a little different in my head but I think a reindeer tree is kind of fun.
Creamy Caramel ink is what I used for the reindeer faces, along with my fingers. The noses were made using real red ink and a pencil eraser. A fine tip marker for the antlers and eyes. A green felt marker for the tree, and of course some dazzling diamonds.

An easy design and one that will be so much fun to make with our grandson Emery one day!

Please come and join us this week. We would love to see your creations.
Thanks for sharing this card with me.
Have an amazing day

Let It Snow!

Good morning!

Happy Thanksgiving to our family/friends in the states.

Our wonderful hostess this week at 4 Crafty Chicks is Lori!

For challenge #378 she is challenging us to create using the theme of Winter Activities.

It has been snowing and blowing here so it was fun to think of what stamp to use. I got thinking of all of the snowball fights that we used to have with our kids and snowman building. So digging in my old stamps sets I went.  This stamp set is from Stampin' Up, an oldie but a goodie. Hope you like it.

Please join for our latest challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks!

Thank you so much for stopping by.

Brrr....

Good morning!
I am the hostess over at 4 Crafty Chicks this week
and I have a really fun challenge.
A Recipe challenge.

Challenge #377 - Recipe
1 Bow
2 colors
3 snowflakes.

I love these kinds of challenges but have to be honest, that I struggled with this one. Hopefully this clean and simple design still does some justice for this challenge. I would like to try it again when my mojo is flowing better and share the results of that one with you too.

The red and purple colors were chosen because while out shopping today, I saw someone with a shirt this color. The snowflakes have Wink of Stella on them, wish you could actually see it as it adds a little pop to the them. Everything you see here is from Stampin' Up.

Wishing you an amazing day! Thanks for sharing in this card and please come and join us for our latest challenge.

Thanks For Your Kindness

Good Morning! How is your week going? My week is full of some ups and downs but crafting has helped with some of the down moments.

Over at 4 Crafty Chicks our one and only Nance is our wonderful hostess this week.

Challenge #376 - Give Thanks

Love this challenge because it always makes me take just a little extra time to think about everything that I am grateful for. Today, I am grateful for little moments of clarity to help solve struggles we are going through. Nothing like a cup of java or tea to help you think and process life. It snowed here and it was sunny, so I tried to create my space where I was sitting. Such an awesome stamp.

Above I wanted to show my dazzling diamonds for the snow, looking out my window.  My walls are green and the sun was shining beautifully out the window. It was so quiet. Copic Markers were used to color the image which is from Your Next Stamp. The sentiment is from Verve and the paper/punches are all from Stampin' Up. Enamel dots are also from Your Next Stamp.

Thank you so much for joining me; hope to see you again.

Snow, Snow, Snow!

Good morning! The start of November is a bit blustery as Winnie the Pooh would say. We have had snow and freezing rain on Halloween and last tonight, making the roads very slippery.

It is 4 Crafty Chicks Thursday and that means we have a brand new challenge for you. Our talented hostess this week is our one and only Leanne.

Challenge #375 - Sketch
It has been quite a while since us chicks did a sketch and Leanne has made a fabulous one for us. It sure got the creative juices going. It was really hard for me to decide which items to use, so this sketch you will see some more of.

My card above was made with snowflakes as looking outside yesterday that is all we could see. So out came my snowflake brads that have been sorely neglected. Christmas pattern paper by Echo Park Papers, Early espresso brown and the glitter paper, circle punches, circle dies, snowflake die and the word snow die are all from Stampin' Up. The brown snowflake is a Martha Stewart punch.
My friend Ang, helped me with this creation as she has never made a card before and was fascinated by the whole process. She broke out the pencil crayons and started coloring too.

I am wishing you a fantastic day and please come and join us at 4 Crafty Chicks.

Beautiful You!

Hello! Welcome to my blog! Today is 4 Crafty Chicks Thursday, which means a brand new challenge for you to play in. Our crafty hostess this week is Lori and here is what she would like you to create

Challenge #374 - Polka Dots

The card above was a blast to make. I used flowers to highlight the dies and the image. The image was stamped and then the pattern paper was fussy cut to fit the image. The white dots were suggested by Leanne to add a little pop. It has been a long time since I have broke out my white pen, sure glad that it worked.
As you can tell I got very happy with the Polka Dots. I really like them. All of the paper, embossing, and stamps (Beautiful You) are from Stampin' Up. The first layer of dies are from Spellbinders(Labels Eighteen) and the die the image is stamped on is from Gina Marie Designs. The flowers are Prima Flowers.

Thank you so much for joining me today. We would love to see you at 4 Crafty Chicks.

Lori

Have an amazing day!

Travel has been...

Hello! Welcome to my blog. The weather is not slowing down for being all over the place. We had a really beautiful day on Tuesday and it quickly changed when the wind picked up and caused so much damage across our province and to the province of Saskatchewan too. Major fires people evacuated, trains blew off the tracks, rooves coming off some buildings, trees down and semi's overturned on the high way. Hoping the weather settles down to a peaceful quiet for a while.

I am the hostess over at 4 Crafty Chicks this week.  We are on challenge #373. I love paper, colors, textures and pattern paper is just so fabby. The problem is sometimes, I think it is too pretty to use and next thing you know I am hoarding it.  Let's break it out and use it.

Challenge #373 - Use 3 Pattern Papers

A clean and simple card using Soft Suede and River Rock for the solid paper. The pattern paper is from Indie chic "ginger" My Mind's Eye.  Love the oval stitched dies from My Favorite Things, and the flower die is from Poppy Stamps called Wild Rose Bud. I dug out a neglected stamp set is from CLOUD9 Design Simple Thoughts - Travel that talks lots about vacations and travel. It was stamped in Soft Suede ink.

Please come and join us at 4 Crafty Chicks. We would love to see your work.

Thanks to Your Kindness...

Hello, friends! Have you had a good week? My week so far has mostly week wonderful. I had a visit from a friend, saw one friend briefly and was able to skype with Lori. This weekend is Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada and I would like to take the time to thank everyone who supports my blog and me in my life's journey.  My life is so blessed with all of my family and friends.

Thank you so much for joining me today, for my brand new DT card for 4 Crafty Chicks.  A big hello and welcome to our Hen House Natalie (Crafty Natalie's Blog). Natalie is our Guest Designer for the month of October.  Our hostess this week is Leanne from Banking on Crafts. For Challenge #371 she would like us to create an Easel card.

My card above is a first for me. It is called a Twisted Easel card and was really a blast to make. My only frustration was it took me 3 times to not glue the first layer all the way done, only half is glued down so you can do the twist.  It is a fun challenge and had me thinking out of the box. Love challenges like this.

Items used: The pattern paper that was used is from Just Dreamy 2 by Christy Lyle & Zoe Peam  "My Love". All of the other paper/pattern paper/embossing folders are from Stampin' Up. The dies are from Stampin Up Framelit circle collection, Gina Marie's Stitched Star dies, Poppy Stamps Small Garden Sprigs and a bird punch from Stampin Up.

Please come and join us, we would really like to see your inspiration.

Have an amazing day! Smiles and hugs are coming your way.

Wishing You Brighter Days...

Good morning! We have had an amazing and beautiful day/week so far. The temperatures are so much warmer than last week. A highlight of this week for me was seeing my fellow chick Leanne and her hubby Brian. They were able to stop and see where we live now. Our husbands got to meet for the first time too which was awesome. Onto why you are really here...

There is a brand new challenge over at 4 Crafty Chicks and our wonderful hostess this week is our one and only Lori! She would like us to use, black, white and other color. Such a fun and easy peasy challenge right? I chose white, black and red.

Challenge #369 - Black, White and Other Color

My card above is made using Stampin' Up products (paper, embossing folder, stamps, oval punch, dimensional and marker). The square die with the stitched pieces is a Gina Marie Designs. The flowers are unknown and the enamel dots are by Your next Stamp. It was such a blast to use this stamp set, as it has been in my craft room for a while.

Please come and join us and my fellow chicks for our brand new challenge.

Thank you so much for stopping by and please have an amazing/wonderful day!

Today belongs to you...

Good morning! The past few days have been really chilly and we had a hard frost here in Wainwright! Even some places in Alberta had snow this week :(. We are hoping to do a ton of work done outside this weekend.

Over at 4 Crafty Chicks, we have a brand new challenge for you. I am your hostess this week and I would love for you to create something using Fairies!!! I still love watching Tinker Bell movies. Fairies are just so beautiful and some are so very cute.

My card above didn't turn out how I had it in my mind...it looked so much different as a CAS. Hope it looks okay. The stamp is one that I have had for many years in my stash from Inkadinkadoo for the fairy and the sentiments are also from Inkadinkadoo. Hope this card is not too disappointing. I used this image as it reminds me of some of the girls in the Tinkerbell movies.

Please come and join us at 4 Crafty Chicks, I would love to see your creations. My fellow DT's have amazing creations for you to see.

Have an amazing day and thanks for stopping by.

Kindness is Compassion

Hello! It has been one busy week but the highlight of it is we have our 4 month old grandson Emery visiting with us and his mom. Our second son had to work so look forward to seeing him this weekend together with his little family. Our oldest son is healing from breaking his pelvis and our daughter is getting used to grade 10 and balancing her sports. Many appointments have kept me busy this week too. So much to be grateful for family, friends and life.

Our beautiful hostess over at 4 Crafty Chicks this week is Nance and she has a wonderful challenge for us. It had me thinking outside of the box and how I could try and add several shapes to it. Nance challenge for #368 is Geometric. The card above was made using Gina Marie Designs die, the stitching and quality are just wonderful. Although with the pattern paper I used it is hard to see all of the stitching. The paper is all from Stampin' Up and the stamp which Summer picked out for me is from Hero Arts Clear Design.

I hope that you can stop by and join in our challenge this week. My fellow team mates from 4 Crafty Chicks (Nance, Leanne and Lori) have amazing inspiration for you.

Thanks for stopping by.
