simon says stamp.snow white - be joyful

Be sure to check out the Simon Says Stamp Store!

Hello and welcome to this weeks simon says stamp wednesday challenge it is a snow white week. We are challenging you to a mostly white card creation. The design team is using products from reverse confetti, be sure to check out all the adorable stamps and dies. Don't forgot every week at Simon Says Stamp we give away a $50 voucher...wooohooo....now that is worth playing for!

I had such fun with this weeks snow white challenge. I have used simon says stamp fog card stock for my base, I adore the look of white next to this light grayish color. I have used the sterling silver color from the finetec watercolors as a base, I then partially covered it with embossing paste using the reverse confetti pointed out stencil. This stencil is adorable, the print is so cute, hard to see with the white...but one I will reach for again! I added the holly cut from designer paper and then popped it up with foam dots. A few simon says stamp clear sequins to finish it off...I can't wait to see what you create!

sunday stamps - sending happy thoughts

A sweet little card for you to today using the sunday stamps sketch, the flower was in my little extra box as were the leaves. I watercolored the left portion and added some ink splatter and then stamped the sentiment several times using my mini misit. There is also some paste embossing on the right side and I sponged it with a bit of tim holtz distressed inks. I adore the polka dotted designer paper and the fun flower....just a happy card! hope you have a wonderful day and week!

choose to shine

Had to play along with a couple of challenges, I adore the inspiration photo from card concept, I was inspired by the colors and patterns. Went with a little watercolored background, using daniel smith watercolor paints. I aslo used a stencil to add embossing paste, the design reminds me of the pattern in the chairs. The stars are die cut from the awesome paper smooches star dies, this set of dies is one of my favorites, there are lots of layers and sizes. The chipboard sentiment is from a tim holtz quote sentiments, luv these too! I added a few eneamel dots and a twine bow...had a blast creating this card. I also used the fun layered sketch from freshly mades sketches.

I had to play along with this weeks fusion challenge....so adore the colors; grey, aqua, and peach...that was the bases for my card. I have used the super cute flower set from reverse confetti bloom n' buds. I watercolored the background piece and then stamped and die cut the flowers and arranged them to my card. The sweet flower sentiment sticker is from dear lizzy. Of course I had to add some bakers twine and simon says stamp clear sequins. I hope you have a wonderful week.

a quick card using the adorable sketch from match this sketch...I luv it! I have paired it with reverse confetti stamps and dies. the happy die cut is pretty panel from reverse confetti and the flowers of course are my favorite blooms n' buds....so sweet and versatile! I created a watercolor splash background and then added my other elements. I have also put a little diamond stickles in the happy sentiment cut out...it is hard to see but super cute IRL. The clear droplets are pretty pink posh. I have used altenew inks, luvin the bright green, bamboo crisp. I finally had a weekend off and it has been cold and dreary so I brought the sunshine in by doing lots of creating!

today is full of possibilities

This post has several photos, I hope you will scroll through and read all the info. I have been asked many times how I create my watercolor backgrounds, I have tried to show the process in the below pictures. I have used the AWESOME felt from taylored expressions for the sweet flower. I really, really, luv her felt! The sentiment is from a super sweet uplifting thoughts simon set, you can see it here. The challenges I played along with are listed below. I have also added these photo to my insagram, come check me out at 2klines.

words with meaning - it's the possibility that keeps me going, not the guarantee.

I have shown in the photo below, my papers and color combo. I am also showing a small piece of acetate, it is on the black card stock. I will use the acetate to create the background.

I take tim holtz distress ink and smash it into the acetate and then spritz with water, I usually use more water the first time for smearing.

I turn the acetate over on top of the watercolor paper and begin smearing it around, picking the acetate up and then moving it onto another piece of the paper. This is where I determine the design I want to achieve, sometimes unintentionally(*grin*)

I then will add more ink to the acetate with less water for a more vibrant ink color. If you are using two or more colors, you should allow the first color to dry completely before add the other colors.

Here is the look with another layer of ink used with less water so that the color is darker. Please let me know if you have any questions.
