Inspirational Card Sketches #24

Wow it's Tuesday and here's my DT card this week for Inspirational Card Sketches....

Dawn has designed a fantastic sketch for you this week. I started with these fabulous Cosmo cricket papers. The curve at the top I thought could be a great flap on envelope, but I just cut and embellished the edge using a strip of paper cut with border punch and trimmed to bend into a curve. This owl is so cute and I have simply cut with coordinating papers.

The sentiment I have stamped onto white card and trimmed around leaving a slight edge. I thought it needed a little colour so have used my copic pen to colour the floral surround. Embellished with a little bling. These gorgeous velvet flowers are from a dear friend, thank you Michelle they went perfectly.

click on images for close up!!!

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Cosmo Cricket; PM & DCWV: textured card; Die's: Sizzix: owl; Fiskars: Apron Lace; MS: border Punch; Stamps: Inkadinkadoo: collaged expressions; Ink: archival black; copic marker; velvet flowers; Other: adhesive vinyl; adhesive gems; BG: brads; 3D foam;

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog and hope you have a go at this weeks sketch, Happy HuGs Kim x

Inspirational Card Sketches - #23

It's Tuesday and here's my DT card this week for Inspirational Card Sketches....

the talented Dawn has designed another fantastic sketch for you this week. I went for it and cut into this gorgeous paper that I've had on my craft self for quite some time, it would have dust on it only it would often come out to be lovingly admired.
I followed the sketch quite closely but loved having the base in acetate. Although really not an easy thing to photograph. The sentiment I have cut with my Die cutter and applied to the rectangle. I have used my circle punch to create the decorative corners.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Heidi Grace; PM: textured card; acetate; glitter paper; Die's: Nestabilities: long rectangles; Sizzix: alphabet; leaves; Fiskars: Apron Lace; Punch: circle; Prima: flower; Other: adhesive vinyl; adhesive gems; gem brad; 3D foam;

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog and hope you get the chance to have a go at this weeks sketch, Happy HuGs Kim x

Colour Challenge #3 - Shower of Thanks

We've woken up to a very wet Monday morning here but I hope you had a fantastic weekend! Well today it's my turn to show what I've created for the colour challenge at Stampin Chic this week, set by Kath and Sheila, hope it brightens with the fab colours Turquoise and Yellow!!!

I created a circle matt by cutting and distressing the edges. The circles are punched and adorn under the edge which I have inked all around! This cute umbrella which I have been waiting to use I have stamped and paper pieced. The 'you' is from CCSR paper which I have simply cut out inked edges and raised on 3D foam. The yummy felt ribbon I decided to staple on, as it's quite thick. Flowers I have embellished with buttons, brads and shimmer dots.

Materials:
Paper: CCSR - the Big One, Papermania - retro floral & pastel colossal,
Stamps: CCSR - Stampin chic party Stamp set,
Ink: Clearsnap - Queues Fluid ink, Vivid - black
Other: 3d foam, PM - flowers, PM - buttons, PM - special brads, PM - shimmer dots, Anita's and PM felt ribbon, Quickutz - alpha,

We would love you to join in with our colour challenge this week, just go to Mr Linky pop in your name and the link to your entry... can't wait to see all your Turquoise and yellow creations this week and don't forget to pop back to Stampin Chic tomorrow to see what the talented Mina will be showing for the colour challenge,

Thanks for stopping by and Happy ♥ HuGs Kim x

Inspirational Card Sketches #13

Another wonderful sketch to inspire you from Inspirational Card Sketches. This has to have been my most challenging sketch yet, designed by the lovely Dawn!
I went for a circular card which proved a little tricky as I don't have very many things to cut a large circle! So opted for my circular decorative punch and punched the card base at 6" round. The patterned Paper has been punched separately to accommodate the card's hinge.
I have pretty much stuck to Basic Grey Granola papers and stamps, lots of stamping and hand cutting. The leaf vine ribbon was originally a pale green so I have coloured it using my copic marker, very pleased with how the colour took! Click images to enlarge close ups!

Materials:
Paper: BG - granola, white card, glitter paper,
Stamps: BG -
granola all natural,
Die's: Dovecraft - Magnetic Multi Shaper Lace,
Ink: Archival - black, distress inks, colourbox - queue,
Other: Leaf ribbon, adhesive bling & pearls, Sakura - stardust, 3Dimensional foam,

Hope you get inspired and have the chance to join us this week, thanks for stopping by, have a fantastic day ♥ HuGs Kim :)

New Year - Basic Grey Challenge Sketch

Hi everyone happy Saturday, it's the first BasicGrey Challenge of 2009 and the Design Team have some stunning creations to show you. I hope you'll get the chance to join in this week and there's also a yummy great prize to be won. Martine has drawn us a fantastic sketch for us to play with...

This is a great sketch to use, I raised all the layers on 3d foam and used another wonderful stamp called Give me a HUG which you can find over at Sugar Nellie. I coloured it with my copic markers and embellished with a little bling, the colours are inspired by the gorgeous paper.

Materials:
Paper: BG - offbeat, MM - stone, white cardstock,
Stamps: Rachelle Anne Miller - Give me a Hug,
Die's: Nestabilities - circles, squares, Punch - circle
Ink: Versafine black, colourbox - dark moss, chestnut roan,
Other: BG - offbeat chip stickers, American crafts velvet ribbon, Big bite eyelet setter, brown eyelets, tim's edge distresser, adhesive gems & bling, 3D foam,

Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend, HuGs Kim x

Happy New Year...

To start, I wish each and everyone of you a very special 2009!!! Hope that you have many dreams and a fun filled wonderful year planned!

I created this thank you card using the sketch over at 2sketches4you and the beautiful new stamp designed by Leanne Ellis... which you can find over at Sugar Nellie.

I've made quite a few thank you cards lately, so thought I could be cheeky and use this one for the dare over on Daring Cardmakers aswell.

This image is adorable and I wanted to use my watercolours for it! I'm using infuse papers and that's inspired the colours I picked! The stamped thank you was a bit tricky to get straight but hoping it's not too obvious! Laura's Sketch 16 was a great sketch to work with and I kept mine very simple, think I could make quite a few of these in little time!

Materials:
Paper: BG - infuse, MM - stone, salt & pepper cardstock,
Stamps: Leanne Ellis - True Love, PTI - Basic alphabet
Die's: Nestabilities - circles,
Ink: Versafine black, colourbox - dark moss, watercolour pencils,
Other: American crafts ribbon, adhesive gems & bling, 3D foam,

I hope the pictures are clear and bright it's so difficult taking picture's in this poor weather! I will have my Design Team card for Basic Grey Challenges tomorrow, so come have a look!
Thanks you for stopping by and for all your congrats still stupidly grinning you know! HuGs Kim x

Caardvarks - Live and Let Die and Blowing Thanks

The Challenge over at Caardvarks and the moment is Live and Let Die...
Welcome to "Live And Let Die", our latest and greatest challenge involving DIE CUTS! and this card I created for Emma to say thanks for all her hard work sorting "Troops card appeal" and to wish her get well! Covers this challenge perfectly...

There is so much going on, on this card, I really am pleased with the result, I wanted an aged soft edges to the background and applied crackle paint to the corners of some patterned paper, Let dry and applied white brilliance ink, (the paint was darker than I wanted!).
The Image I have stamped and coloured with copics and glitter all over her hair, I stamped on various BG papers and cut to create my 3D piecing! (loving this technique!) Her wings have been done with liquid applique, then heated , then glittered a little! I've used gel pens and copics to add details to her clothes! All on nesty die cut ovals.
The flowers have been die cut and edged with gold pen, layered and finish with gem. Then the other flowers I've created my very own chipboard die cuts using various different die's. So pleased with how they turned out, it takes a little time but will definitely be doing it again! The sentiment is stamped on die cut tag and glitter pen to add detail, finished with a chipboard die cut flower edged with gold! AND another pearly gem.

Materials:
Paper: BG Boxer, PM cream card, grey board
Die's: Sizzix - flower layers, flower layers #4, build a flower, Accent with flower, Cut'bg - Tag, leaf, Nestabilities - Ovals
Ink: Colourbox - greens, StazOn - black, Brilliance - gold, midnight white, Copic Markers, Sakura pens.
Other: Liquid applique, Crackle paint, pearl gems, adhesive gems, stickles, 3D foam.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day! HuGs Kim x
