More Paper Smooches :)

I just love Kim's spiffy scooters set, how adorable is that vintage scooter?
I've coloured using my copics and paper pieced the clouds and road.

This card is based on one of Kim's designer drafts #2

These were created with Kim's fabby templates... I couldn't reisist the worm popping out of the apple LOL! This card has all been paper pieced using Vintage blue papers and the edges inked.

I created something a little fun with this cupcake card, using the template and the wonderful vegtastic stamp set... I made it into a carrot cake.

It's such heartbreaking news when I heard about the earthquake/tsunami in Japan.
 I know I haven't mentioned anything about it, I don't want to see the footage it's not that I don't care I just can't comprehend the magnitude of what is happening...  there are things happening in the world that go beyond what I can cope with.
I want to help like so many of us...
 I wish I could give more... and I came across
Shin Tanaka has designed a wonderful paper model to help requesting donations for the relief fund!...

Dillon and I will often spend time making paper models together and this one was adorable, thank you!
Maoleidigh loves it too! A little kiss of hope :)

They are in my thoughts and prayers... let us continue to pray and encourage those who are hurting, struggling. Let us rally as a community and send support to those in Japan who are lost, scared, needing rescue, needing hope ♥

ArtsyCrafts and Tim Holtz

While the little one is power napping I thought I would get the chance to show some pictures of ArtsyCrafts event.... (She's up and I've collected Dillon from bus stop... it's grown into a pretty long post, just sayin')

WOW!!! I was there tee hee...

So, the morning began with a fabulous workshop directed by Leandra Franich the Owner of PaperArtsy Rubber stamps and the talented Lin...  Their Fabulous helpers are quite familiar too... tee hee like the fun Linda E, Essex Lynne (aka Cheryl {Cole}), Karen and Jo... to name a few. It was so well organised and everything perfect I am so pleased to have been part of it.

I bumped into the lovely and we crafted the day together.

Our first project is this technique filled house piece, it was great fun...

A little close up, from this point I stained my hands a beautiful green for the rest of the day ROFL!

NOW..... here he is...

I KNOW!!!! That is me... (sporting a fabulous Craft Stamper Apron)... beside the Tim Holtz!

OMG! I believe this is when my brain and and mouth have communication problems.. LOL! I think I was getting pretty tired by this time too, a workshop lightweight :) I don't know how they all managed to teach 288 students!

Anyway, this will be my work in progress for a while, don't have the opportunity to finish it just yet, but will enjoy the extended fun of finding treasures to fill it and keep the memory going :)

My favourite things has to be making our grunge letter blocks seriously I made five before our tea break LOL! I think you may see a whole lot more of these.... Above is the word art with THE most adorable pink toy car from my bag full of vintage treasures and of course we received a ranger bag of products to take home, yum!

And this box says time to be free and fly...(well that's the idea) it holds an authentic letter block too, ha ha! My sincere thanks to Leandra, Lin and crew and Tim, Mario and Alain for this amazing creative journey!

Thanks for stopping by,
Hope you have a wonderfully creative day, BiG HuGs Kim ♥

BasicGrey Challenges: Challenge 31 ~ Autumn/Harvest Time

So, I'm very late posting my BasicGrey team make,
my computer is banjaxed, the other day my darling 2 yr old, Maoleidigh, decided to tip a huge glass of water over my keyboard with lots of "shocked" shouty noises (you know those non swear words) and after a frantic contorted hairdryer action...  all the very important keys still don't type... seriously couldn't even type my name, sign onto blogger. anything!

I'm on my Fiance's laptop now, managed to track down a new keyboard to replace mine and fingers crossed that's all the damage done, not sure I can fix all the other bits and bobs... so I still have to try and edit my photos on my broken computer because OH doesn't have anything cool like that on his and then transfer them through this one. Phew exhausted!!!

The Theme this week over at Basic Grey Challenges is

I have stamped the laves and heat embossed with clear powder, inked  with distress inks to create a resist.
The leaves are die cut, as is the label for the sentiment, a couple of basic grey buttons and twine!

If you get the chance why not stop by the rest of the teams fabulous autumnal creations :)

 Chris

Thanks so much for stopping by hope you have a creative day

Wow what a weekend, not only up to the Royal Academy in London on Friday (more to follow) but out all day saturday at the NEC we had a fabulous fantastic time us blogging buddies. I did buy a few yummy crafty supplies and I would have taken a picture but I was already into the packaging and playing to make this next sneek peek....

It's the second preview of The Greeting Farm's new April releases, Marie has designed this adorable cutie Deedee and this little beauty reminded me just a bit of my sweet angel, curly hair (check), angelic face (check), cute boots (check), so as it's Maoleidigh's birthday on Friday (Phew) and she will be two and she's a proper girly girl I have made her this little dinky handbag! It really isn't a great design, you see I thought I would be clever and add an extra pleat or two for her  rummagey little hands but then the flap of the bag just doesn't close properly... it definitely needs more work on it.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Cosmo Cricket; girl friday;
Stamps: TGF: ws Deedee -(release 1st April);
Ink: memento; Copic: markers*;
Dies: Sizzix: flower layers; foliage; Spellbinders: Nestabilities: labels; butterflies; Martha Stewart: corner and border punch;
Other: coloured felt; BG: button and brads; Adhesive stones; 3D foam;

*Skin: E000, 21,13 & R20, eye's: B41, Hair: E50, 53, 35 Outfit: RV10, 23, 34, R20, G12, YG93, E50, N3 I use my colourless Blender throughout.

World Cardmaking Day weekend.... a long post

Wow are you having a very creative weekend? There are soo sooo soooo soooo many challenges and inspiration to try for, that I couldn't compete in fact I have a slightly sore head with the ideas cramming to get out so I'm controlling myself and am entering the PTI WCMD challenges I have till Tuesday which is great and I got all those fabulous stamps last month so here's challenge #1 the theme for this is Japan....

Well there's lots to spark off your creative juices with this theme... I went with a black, red and silver colour combo. I used some masking tape on the bottom edge of the card where the sentiment is stamped and continued to stamp the 'life' floral images in black ink directly onto red card, I double stamped some to give a fainter image. There are a few butterflies in there too.

So I thought I could use my new fab product 'rock candy' and give the image a lacquered furniture (you know the type I mean?) Ok this stuff does rock but I was ever so slightly impatient and did use my heat tool and I did create a few air bubbles arrrrh! I have tried to capture the crackle in the close ups, click images to enlarge. To really enhance the cracks I blended in some distress inks (of course).

So my stamped card was all bumpy and warped and I thought I had completely wasted it hmm then remembered this adhesive foam Sheet yum it adhered to the back and gives dimension AND sorts out all those lumps and bumps. Adhered onto some shiny mirri card which is glaring ever so slightly in the photo.

So the other thing that's very much Japanese has to be the origami, wow this was my first introduction to paper, yes folding, loved origami at school. I created this fan in keeping with the theme by folding it in PTI patterned paper first. then unfolded to stamp the floral image in white palette ink just so it remained in the centre. I have used a bit of glue to hold some of the folds to the back and I decided to add a big brad to secure the handle. I trimmed the original piece of patterned paper 7" square so the finished fan would fit inside the envelope.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: PTI: Bitty squares; PM: textured card; Silver mirri; Stamps: PTI: Life; Butterfly Kisses; Ink: Archival: black; Palette: fresh snow; Distress inks; Other: Tim Holtz: Rock candy; Bling ribbon slider buckle; Large brad; adhesive 3D foam sheet;
Now onto the really fun part of my Cardmaking day, OK so it's not quite a card but we had the best time making it... While Maoleidigh went down for her nap I printed of tons of paper models (can they ever decide before hand?) from this wonderful site... Canon Creative Park (I could easily make all the models)
Dillon is very competent at using real scissors, I have taught him the turning paper into the blade and cut around the image... etc etc but he sure can cut well. For the pumpkin basket I cut the face out, the circles and the handles as I like to use my knife. Dillon cut the rest. It has a magic middle that gives the impression of light on inside, fab idea. There are a selection of hats to choose from and Dillon picked the pirate, it seemed this was my part of the model to make (cheeky). He did do the eye patch but that has been misplaced.

I've included a couple of Maoleidigh as requested but these are the only non blurry ones I could manage, do they ever stand still? LOL! Sending BiG happy cardmaking HuGs Kim :)

Ally Pally and a Grungepaper Rose

Yesterday I went to Ally Pally and got myself a few gorgeous crafty treats, as you do....
But the best, most wonderful thing about yesterday was without doubt meeting up with sooo many fabulous blog friends, Hello Girls!!! It's a day we will never forget we had a blast and Definitely intend on meeting up again, at Birmingham in November....

Jo, Marlene, Chris, Caz, me & Kim

Kim, Caz, Marlene, Bev, Jo

From the left is Me, Debby, and Jo standing behind Kim, Chris and Jacqui
Thank you to sweet, sweet Jo for the wonderful pictures... although I could have done practicing some poses before hand ROTFL!!!
So... I could show you what I bought but instead I'm showing what I made today with a few of my goodies...

WOW when I first set eyes on this grungepaper rose I knew I had to try it, "gorgeous" just doesn't cut it... the finished flower is still so tactile in your hands. I think I might just get a little addicted to them, so be warned there will probably be a few popping up in the next few posts LOL!
Thanks for stopping by and I will be showing my final DT card for ICSketches tomorrow :( until then HuGs Kim :)

Inspirational Card Sketches #30

We're back from Dorset and the sun shone for us, the children loved the beach Maoleidigh loves digging sand spent her time filling her bucket up, eventually attempting the cold sea water, as for Dillon he couldn't get enough of the sea and we had to drag him back to the caravan... which he thinks we should live in all the time bless him! I have so missed my crafting and all my blogging buddies so got straight back into it with my DT card for Inspirational Card Sketches...

Olena designed our fabulous sketch this week, and our sponsors are Paper Popsicles so pop over and have a browse at their wonderful site.

I have printed and coloured little girl all summery with white dress and super cute frilly socks. I have edged the dress with my spica pen but it's a little hard to see the glittrer in the photos. Couldn't resist a little button too!
I have seen crochet flowers cover the crafting catwalk for a while now and decided to actually try making one, now it's not the most fabulous and I certainly need some practice, but this is my very first attempt at crochet and I found the most wonderful blogs which will help even the most complete beginner thanks Teresa and Rachel. So I got myself a crochet hook but I only a large one and my crochet is leaning more to the lacy side, to finish I simply put a small button in the middle. click on pictures to enlarge.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: MME: Bloom and Grow; Stamps: paper popsicles: Little girl; Ink: markers: copic; spica; Die's: Nestabilities: label1; Sizzix: bread tags; Cutb'g: butterfly; Other: lace, Buttons, thread, crochet hook, cereal box card; double sided adhesive sheet; 3D foam;

Thanks for stopping by and here's a few little pics of when we we're away, I didn't take my camera to the seaside so don't have any of them playing there. They are of course impossible to photograph and don't sit still for a second... but cute all the same,

HuGs Y Kim :)
