Not Just Magnolia....

So it's August and it's raining, which means I had a little time to just create... can't possibly get the washing dry in this weather. I wanted to make a card and couldn't decide on just one challenge, so I have combined quite a few...

Let me explain...

Just Magnolia # 16 - distressing
Cuttlebug #42 - Gate fold
Colour Create - Pink, Orange and Green
All combined using the fabulous sketch by Laura at 2S4Y

Phew quite a combo, I started with my gate fold for the cuttlebug challenge I think this is my first time entering I just haven't managed before. I decided to turn it on it's side and make an envelope card. I have die cut lots of hearts in the same base card and adhered to create faux embossing.
Following Laura's sketch the central strip across the middle I have embossed whitewash orange based core'dinations and sanded to bring the colour through. The edges have been distressed, using the same whitewash I have created scallop edging with apron lace punch and some faux stitching using ruler and pokey tool.
This is also my first entry for the Just Magnolia challenge and I went for a black and white photo effect and love it when they pick up one colour and enhance it on a B&W. So I have coloured the rose (it is pink IRL) and glittered and covered with my sakura clear, so that it wouldn't pick up the colour from my distress inks.
I have distressed and stamped on the inside the colours pink, orange and green which follows the challenge at colour create. Wow are you still following? Click on the pictures for close up but please forgive the terrible picture quality the daylight disappeared too quickly today.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: BG: sugared; Core'dinations: Whitewash; PM: textured card; Stamps: Magnoila: Tilda with Rose; Hero Arts: sentiment; Ink: Memento: Black; colourbox; Ranger: distress inks; copics; spica; Sakura: clear; Die's: Nestabilities: ovals; label1; Sizzix: flourish(hearts); Cutb'g: Embossing folder; Fiskars: Apron Lace; Other: Tims ruler; piercing tool; blending applicator; edge distresser; 3D foam;

RoP challenge #15 - Gate fold with stitching

Now this card was one that had been scheduled to be posted last week with the other... tut tut, but I think it's still with in the deadline...

The challenge over at Roses on Paper is to create a gate fold card, haven't made one of these for ages and If you take a close look I even managed to get my sewing needle out to add REAL blanket stitching to the patterned paper. Although took a little bit to remember how, LOL! How gorgeous is this new BG paper? delish colours and patterns and I even decorated the inside.
Click images for a close look.

Roses on Paper - Combines

Turns out there is a guest DT call at the moment on Roses on Paper. All you need to do is to have taken part in one of their challenges.
So I have combined three challenges on this one...
This weeks Roses on Paper challenge to also incorporate flowers.
The fabulous Sketch on 2 Sketches 4 You
The 3 Stamp challenge on The Greeting Farm Fresh Friday

I have used the wonderful owl stamp by The Greeting Farm and coloured with my copics I just love this owl such character!!! The sentiment is also a GF stamp, I have covered with a good dollop of glossy accents and the third stamp is the heart from pretty hat set which I have created a border and heat embossed with clear EP. I have used my gorgeous My Mines Eye Bohemia papers and as you can see my flower is there... layered with bling flower and stone for a finishing touch. Click on thumbnails for close ups.
