Believe in Yourself

Thanks for visiting...
We have a new anything goes challenge on the blog today and...
I've created this mixed media DL card, using the 3/4 view female face stamp set
and completed the look by using the Volumptuous Waves from the profile hairstyle. I've drawn and stamped them directly onto watercolour cold pressed Bockingford.
I also decided she needed a gorgeous Crown,
I've painted the whole image with neocolor II and a little stabilo all pencil.
The background although subtle has a layer of Peony and polka dots stamped onto the patterned papers, my custom sweet sentiment words are also made up from here.
So, the cherry blossoms in her hair, I discovered that the Lisa Jones botanical dies happen to be such a close match to my stamps that I couldn't resist combining the two a very happy coincident.

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #115 ~ Picture Inspiration

Good morning,
What a crazy and scary start to spring, it's the unexpected last day for the kiddies to be at school, Dillon will be part of history where their gcse exams were cancelled, where every child had to actually get home education. I do hope you are all well and safe. We are amongst the healthy, I still plan on working when the time allows, and the post office is still running and my sister will still be working at the local supermarket. Plus it's mother's day this weekend too ♥.

But I'm here to share my project for our current challenge over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog...
It's not a great card, I feel she is a little lost looking, maybe I'm channelling that one, but I just wanted to play with the soft colours and felt watercolour would fit the effect.
I stamped a flourish from the flourishing hair for her hair, used the mask to stamp the profile face dinky in the same ink onto watercolour card, the rough textured kind.
I stamped a single hand along the curl so she could catch the stars. Using the colours from the picture as inspiration... I used wet in wet technique of dropping in colours, and used the same palette to colour her face and hand.
To create my polka dot background, I used distress oxides onto kraft card, then finished off with a simply stamped sentiment.

paperbabe Stamps challenge #96 ~ Elfin Stripes Profile Portrait

I had the best fun creating this for the current challenge over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog...

My mixed media circle has a very stripey background created using the stripe stencil, it's the backdrop to her profile elfin princess, complete with crown and the very useful mini easel stand

Paperbabe Stamps December's New release Introductions!!!

We are introducing a new old stamp set and mixed media templates on the Paperbabe Stamps blog today Yay...

Here's a couple of my projects...

Ok so this is pretty dramatic but I had lots of fun, I was probably inspired by a wonderfully talented artist Caia Koopman, she uses very bold colours and I thought I would give it a try, isn't that what art is all about?
Mmmm I heat embossed my art quote, just love that finishing touch.
Wanted to mention my page is just A4, and there's plenty of background, so you have an idea of the scale.
Now, if I had another day I could well see lots of extra additions to my piece, I am loving the polks dots on red with that background lol!
So, I didn't quite create a video this time so much to do for all the festivities round here my time is pretty coveted... But I did manage a slideshow Yay showing a few steps when I remembered to take a picture or two. I just love how a piece of work emerges from a blank canvas.

Next is a wood block piece of art, I think 20 cm square using the mini profile templates alongside the mini portrait templates and face stamps, I just love that these can all work together... not that that was my plan or anything lol!
She was inspired by the Goddess Minerva, wise and crafty and I've painted her here with blue hair and her trusty sidekick Owly.
I even managed to paint a little hand for Owly to perch upon,
I've used flick & fringe hairstyle, with the thinner Head from Head & Torso, the body from Profile Head & Torso, gosh got all that? Her face was stamped using the Mini Doll Face, still an old favourite.

Now if you get a moment do visit the rest of the talented Design team...

Mixed Media Templates Variation

Thanks Trish for sharing another of my projects on the Craft Stamper Blog

I wanted to show how easy it is to use the templates and stamps on a card, this time I paper pieced, drawing around the templates on patterned paper. I used the Long & fringe template for her hair, I only used the one layer. I've stamped her face onto another piece of patterned paper trying to keep the pretty flower on her cheek. See how I used only the solid part to stamp her lips? I love how versatile this set can be. Then it was just a matter of putting it together and adding highlights and special sentiment.

You should be able to find a copy of Craft Stamper in all good craft stores across the UK or if you want yours instantly then you can download a copy from Pocketmags! If you want to make sure you never miss a copy then you can also call Craft Stamper's friendly Customer Service team on 01684 588599 and subscribe!

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #12 ~ Picture Inspiration

It's a Picture inspiration over on the Paperbabe Stamps challenge today...

Use the picture to inspire you, it could be the image or pretty colours, create any art your inspiration takes you and have FUN!

I chose to create a profile portrait using the Profile Face stamp set, along with the Head & Torso Template with the Curly fringe Hair template. I drew around the templates with my Sakura micron pen. The face, facial features and ear were all stamped.
I've coloured her using copic markers inspired by those fairy cupcake pastel colours, I wanted to achieve a quite cartoony graphic image and had to try an ombre effect on her hair by blending my copic colours.
I finished off the card with a little sentiment from Tree HuGs stamp set.

I would also like to enter my card into the following challenges!!!
Kim Dellow art it friday ~ show your face

We will be starting sneak peeks next week for a fun and very cute May release.
Enjoy a wonderfully creative weekend
