Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #50 ~ Anything Goes

Good morning and welcome,
we have a new challenge on the Paperbabe Stamps blog today...
and I've embraced my love of steampunk and created this angel punk fairy...
using the Flick & Fringe kit, I've used acrylic paints throughout,
along with the female face stamp, which I have added extra detail with coloured pencils and a hint of copper in her eyes.Check out her wing earring.
I've used the substrate fairy wings to make her an angel punk.. i under painted the mdf in gold ink/paint, and added gears, cogs and had a lot of fun with the cosmic embossing effect, still one of my favourites...
It might not be obvious at first, that I used the crew neck top piece, but disguised the edge with this metal hardware and ceramic rose. The corset was made from some leather paper, jump rings, and eyelets.

I also took some time to finish off the back of her with gold polka dots to finish off the metallic look.

I thought I would enter my project into...

  1. MMW#26: Anything Mixed Media Goes
  2. (click pic) I've covered a few... #30 color challenge, #32 put a stencil on it and #36 put a stamp on it.

Love Life and Live ~ Steampunk Top Hat & Stand

It's MONDAY!!! which means, we have a new theme set at...

and this week is Anything Goes!!!

WOW my final project as member of this Awesome Team sniff sniff.
I was inspired by these Steampunk Debutante papers.

I had the idea to create a steampunk inspired top hat, using grungepaper, texture fade, cafe perfect pearls (fabulous match to the papers) and gears. The top and brim are cut using ovals nestabilities, and I simply pleated the hat into shape! I can see me making a whole lot more of these.

This is the back of the hat, wish I'd have thought to put the eyelets in before I constructed the hat ROTFL!!! but still, managed and threaded some copper coloured elastic through.

I even lined the inside with fun flock, I mixed a few colours together to get this shade!

The Small easel is the base for the hat stand adhered to a large fragment, adorned with Art Parts and memo pin embellishments, one dangly using Steampunk gears stamp.

I cut flowers from Tattered florals and 3D flowers using grungepaper and the colours were matched using distress inks. So check out the goodies at...

And then why not pop round to the rest of the team's stunning projects!!!

Simon Says Stamp and Show Some Metal

It's MONDAY!!! which means, we have a new theme set at...

and this week is Some Metal!!!

Well, my first thought was of Steampunk when the theme was set for this weeks challenge.

I have created a picture frame with the wonderful small easel to help it stand and cut the opening using baroque die.

then with Mocha metal sheet embossed it with texture fades and used Ten Seconds Studio tools to create the decorative edge.

The front had a generous dab of paint dabber burnished in. The frame has been adorned with cut gadget gears enhanced with perfect pearls, a steampunk'd butterfly

plus a whole load of various pieces from Tim's Idea-ology range...
So check out the goodies at...

Simon Says Stamp & Show your.... METAL!

It's Monday and this week
Simon Says Stamp and Show your...

METAL!

A few things inspired my piece, I have some metal vintage clock work bits which reminded me of mechanics, Tim Burton's film nine and the whole steampunk genre.

So I have tried to create faux metal with scraps, yes all the grungepaper scraps from die cutting... pieces form Caged bird die has some fabulous negative shapes, as does the elegant flourishes and there's a piece from the centre of heart wings. I took a picture to show that they were indeed scraps LOL!!!

I HAD to use some of Wendy's Art Parts... the back panel I have adhered a scrap of diet coke can...I had my OH bring me an empty from work usually I don't drink fizzy drinks (unless it's the type in bottles LOL!) The front frame I have inked with distress inks, it takes the colour soooo well yum!

I then placed, planned and layered each piece before inking with Distress inks (I was going for a copper colour but think it's a bit more rusty then I first envisaged!!!) attached a few mini fastener's they're just perfect for this and sanded all the edges to give an aged metal look.

After adhering each piece with faux rivets and holes I brushed on a little gold and copper perfect pearls Not that you can see it in any of the pictures... Then, I attached a metal corner and D ring for hanging!!!

I hope you are inspired and check out the rest of the teams stunning metal creations!

Thanks for stopping by have a wonderfully creative day BiG HuGs Kim :)
