Simon Says Stamp and Show.... Anything, but a card!!!

Good Morning!!! I hope you had a fabulous weekend we had a wonderful time celebrating Maoleidigh's 3rd birthday and a fun mother's day too ♥

so, let me bring you on the theme...
 at

Stamp and show anything but a card!

I have Constructed a notebook portfolio covered with the new Tim Holtz crowded attic Paper which makes a fabulous background for the dress form. I cut out using grungeboard, grungepaper for the skirt, coloured with distress ink and a little black paint dabber.

The body is covered with Claudine Hellmuth's Sticky-Back Canvas. Inked with distress ink and adorned with a little prima lace, seam binding, acroutrement, and pins.

Added angel wings from glitter paper and canvas, embossed and inked. Then added a few layered flowers cut with vintage shabby paper using of course the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die.

The inside I have added these cute envelopes for little notes etc and recovered a notebook using some of the fabulous crowded attic Paper. I secured a ribbon to hold a pen.

The button fastening is made from grungeboard and the holes are reinforced with eyelets... love that look, inked and then hand sewn in place!

Hope it inspires and why not pop round to be WOW'd by the rest of the team!!!

Mothers(s) Day with Embellish, card patterns, a long post

I'm so sorry for my long break between posts and not getting the chance to visit and leave you some well deserved comments... I haven't forgotten you :)...
but I have taken a bit of a break and this following week as well....I intend to schedual an occasional something or other and we have the April Anya preview coming at the end of the month. I have a few personal goals and things on my to-do list that I am excited to focus on! They are very important to me and that will require my undivided attention for a leetle while...but I'll be around as time permits...

SO... this weekend has seen some major card making LOL! Happy mother's Day to all who celebrated it on Sunday. I had a lovely day and feel very blessed :). Then on Monday was my Mum's Birthday and tomorrow the wonderful St Patrick's Day too, phew!!!
This first card covers a few challenges around this week,
Embellish magazine has a fabulous colour challenge with fabric. I had so much fun and really enjoyed creating with new materials... Firstly the fabric is the sticky back canvas mmm' wow' love this stuff it stamps so well and you can rip it and pull it and then it sticks and you can fray and ink the edges!
I even die cut it and stamped the fabulous butterfly, I de-tacked the sticky back with my dust buddy. The other bit of fabric is the brad on main image. The vase I had fun with, inking with distress ink and put a very generous layer of rock candy crackle paint! I followed Card patterns sketch prettty much as it is :)
Patterned papers: Cosmo Cricket: PTI: Kraft; PM: textured;
Stamps: PTI: Butterfly dreams; blooming button bits;
Ink: Distress inks; pallette: white;
Dies: PTI: butterfly; WRMK: corner chomper;
Other: Sticky back canvas; roak candy clear crackle paint; PTI: buttons; Offray: satin ribbon; natural thread; fabric brad; 3D foam;

This next mother's day card was for my mum and I went very vintage, the little angel cards are printed from a cd 'so cute' :). The flowers I made myself from die cutting, layering and inking the papers so they are double sided. The large button is the angel printed in black and white. I then adhered onto greyboard and cut into circle. Punched the two holes and covered with glossy accents and then it happened.....

....yes, the image completely distorted, went all over the place giving a 'blue' colour more porcelain really, which was a wonderful happy accident (love them, don't you?) I also made the box envelope to match :).

Patterned papers: K&Co; PTI: kraft;
Stamps: Joanna Sheen: Angel cd; Hero Arts: sentiment;
Ink: Distress inks; archival: black;
Dies: Sizzix: flower daisies; circles; border punch;
Other: Greyboard; glossy accents; Offray: satin ribbon; lace; 3D foam;

Thank you so much for stopping by, now if you get the chance tomorrow I have set a fun challenge for Club Anya so hope you will come and see!!! BiG HuGs, Kim :)

Inspiration Card Sketch #8

Happy Tuesday it's St Patrick's Day and time for Inspirational Card Sketches and it's now our sketch challenge #8! Check out the other Design Teams creations they're so wonderful!!!

This is a fantastic sketch by the wonderful Dawn, and it was great working with the layout I made the card using this shape and loved how it turned out, may have to use this again!!! I just went a little o.t.t with these K&Co papers. Yum colours.

I have cut a long card and scored to create the front and trimmed the back to create the tag top. Covered the inside and the front with patterned paper. The flower has been die cut from vellum and dry embossed with folder. I then went over it with acrylic paint. The centre bling is gorgeous Prima Centre kisses. The buttons are such lovely colours and I have simply adhered them in place with glue dots! The Mum has been die cut and place on paper shadow cut. I have created a washer from patterned paper and fixed in place with a large eyelet. Finished off with a couple of ribbons! Click on images for a close up.

Materials:
Paper: K&Co - Amy Butler, BG - pink, PM - blue Vellum, Fun Foam,
Die's: Sizzix - Daisies, Graffitti, Cutb'g - Tag, Nestabilities - circles,
Ink: Colourbox - Qs, Dabbers - Snow cap

Colour Create Blue and Brown

Thought I would have a go at the wonderful Colour Create challenge blog, this weeks yummy colours are Blue and Brown!

Well... this gorgeous paper was the starting point for my blue and brown combo! And when these stunning greeting farm stamps dropped to my door step and I just had to ink and colour! I have inked the edge of the sentiment with a little distress inks just to tone in.
The rose on her hat is paper pieced and embellished with a little glitter as are her pearls around her neck which I have raised with glossy accents! So I have a bit of lace with the border punch and a few pearls with the necklace! (well nearly... LOL!)

Click Images for close look!

It's been a while.....

I realise it's been a while since I've been blogging, I'm still around, just busy rearranging for the new arrival in about three weeks. It's amazing how much craft stuff I have but I wouldn't dream of parting with it, just have to cram it in all the spaces. Will take some piccies when craft area/baby area combo is done.

Thought I would upload this card for the DCM woman theme...

My theme this week is

I am woman

As its coming up to Mothers day in the UK here’s a chance to make a card that celebrates women and girls . So I’d like to see a card with at least one feminine image on it . And that's it for rules really.
Apart from this one... And it is sneaky. No Tildas, Sugar Nellies or Bellas please. I love them all. But there are loads of great challenges out there using them so for this challenge you can give them a well earned rest!

I don't have any Tildas, Sugar Nellies or Bellas so that bit was easy, I used simply chic stamps by provo craft. They're not woman but I think the flower and papers are feminine. The flower image is stamped with coordinating ink and hand cut and layered to create 3d. The flower centres are brads.

The scallop rectangles I used nestabilities, the loops and sentiment are die cuts.

Thanks for stopping by, I am quite busy at the mo... well more like a bit slow at doing stuff with belly moving around on it's own. Also they found I was anaemic so I'm bit tired too but I hope to still keep up with some of my crafty creativity so will upload stuff when I can.

Blooming Beginning!

This weeks challenge over at Papertake is...

'Blooming Gorgeous!'

it's to use floral embellishments on your projects! These could be Prima's, silk, wire stemmed, die cut, handcut etc! etc! So please join us again this week and help make all our crafty blogs 'Blooming Gorgeous'!!

Ok, so this isn't actually finished yet, I started it last night and I'm so pleased with how it's developing. There are lots of elements on it. It's like a little peice of art that I intend to give to my mum. So I'm enjoying taking my time...
I've die cut and punched each flower layer and raised on 3d foam and glittered and added gems. The butterfly is also die cut from shrink plastic which I stamped, inked, chalked and shrunk. Affixed each part with glossy accents.
I still have more to finish but just wanted to show it so far!
Thanks for stopping by! HuGs!
