Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #22 ~ Picture Inspiration

It's a Picture inspiration over on the Paperbabe Stamps challenge today...

what a fabulous day to share my mixed media piece, this is one was created during Week 43, on 'Life Book 2015'
Any Day is a Good Day to Celebrate with the lovely Patti Ballard

I was definitely inspired by the feeling of afternoon tea, the picture although was simply missing some cake...

I really wanted to try out the female face stamps on a slightly angled face.
I started by using the Head from the Head & Torso template, instead of following a central line I moved it slightly to the left of the face, so the eye would rest against the edge. I could have used my hair templates but I just went with the creative moment. The cake was my own design which I wouldn't mind a slice of, thank you.

I've used the mini female face for her lips and nose. Then I used the larger female face stamps for her eyes and brows to show how well these two sizes can work together.

I feel this piece isn't quite finished, I want to add a little more sentiments and doodling, or even a few hints of summery yellow... if I do get there I will be sure to share it.

Thanks for stopping by
Enjoy a wonderfully creative weekend!

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #21 ~ Anything Goes

Oooh Friday the 13th, what a fabulous day to share my mixed media piece for Paperbabe stamps current challenge ~ Anything Goes...

I am loving the bright cheery colours and wait till you see the texture, yum!

I'm using a piece of work I created for Week 32 on Life Book 2015
"You are wise" taught with the lovely Tamara Laporte.

So, the main theme of this class was about Transforming Limiting Beliefs into Liberating Beliefs. I've written some of my limiting beliefs under the paint and textured hill, with the vision of them transforming into little liberated trees, so strong and wise, lol.

My flying angel figure was mostly free hand although I used the mini portrait template the rounder one for her head and added her facial features with my mini doll face stamps.

Check out the texture on that hill, I love love the white heat embossing on tissue paper it just moulds right into all the hard to reach groves from the texture paste. And the 'Happy Soul' quote stamp I felt was very fitting, something I need to let myself do. Those flowers were inspired by a pomegranate flower.

This piece is also entered into:

Paperbabe stamps ~ Anything Goes
Kim Dellow's ~ Show your face
Altered Eclectics ~ Anything Goes
Mixed media world #9 ~ Anything goes

Courage Dear Heart, Life Book Week Four

Here I have another piece from my life book 2015...
This was from week Four, a lovely class from Patti Ballard, this is not my usual style, it was great to go out of my comfort zone and at least have a try, I loved loved loved the old style...
Which encouraged me to go a step further a paint a very generous amount of crackle paint over her face and body to give an aged doll look. I can't express how pleased I am with how this technique turned out.
I will try and share my life book when I get a few minutes...

I would like to enter this piece to:

Kim Dellow's ~ Show your face

And poor Glennis I will sort the winners out as soon as I have a moment!
There will of course be a new Challenge up on the Paperbabe Stamps Blog this Friday, so pop back then, I have a very fun piece ready and waiting!!!

Thanks for stopping by
Enjoy a wonderfully creative day!

Life Book 2015 ~ Week Three

I have been trying to keep up with life book 2015... my sister and I enjoy an arty day, (more like evening) when she comes to visit me. It's so nice to share art and enjoy eachothers company.

This piece was for week three's lesson, I know, I think we're already on week 37 gosh, need to get some major artering* done. *This is a Maoleidigh expression of being arty) It's a little bit of wordsmith art from the talented Joanne SharpeShe is known for her wonderful artful lettering work and showed us how to create art that includes beautiful 'Artful Lettering.

I really enjoyed this lesson, I've always loved handwriting!
I love how the butterfly turned out I let the watercolours just flow around the place lol!
I enjoyed decorating the words differently, the spots & stripes and little white specks in the pink watercolour.
And here's it placed in a simple frame.

I will try and share my life book when I get a few minutes...

Thanks for stopping by
Enjoy a wonderfully creative day!

My Beacon Of Light!

It's been six months since my last post, tut tut tut.
Well who can blame me really? I think I've spent so much time in and out of hospitals with my mum, then to arrange her funeral and emptying her house of everything from the last 34 years. Her business, her art and embroidery and memories. Phew!!!
I miss her greatly, so I decided to focus my grief into getting arty and joined life book 2015...

This is week one's Beacon Of Light
Ok I do realise it's February already but hey It's actually finished, well, maybe, I'm sure I could tweak a little here and there for the whole year lol!
A little glimpse of the work in progress... I wonder if you can see which of my Paperbabe stamps I've used?
And complete(ish) remember the possible tweaks) What I do love is how this piece of art can change depending on how you're looking at it. I've used the heart image from Doll face set and stamped them with white paint like they were flowing out of her light. I used my favourite peony which is subtly stamped in the background. The sentiment I hope will keep me focused through this year I used Watercolour Alphabet for that one.
I used Paperbabe Doll Face Stamps for her eyes (new stock will be re-ordered soon), I bet you could tell? But I opted to free draw the nose and mouth as I wanted them fuller then the stamps in the set.
This little creature is something I felt complimented what I'm going through, that elegant delicacy, ever so slightly vulnerable but with a confident strength that you put on show. Painted white for light with pink shading to give the look of porcelain.
SEE? this is what happens when you see her from different directions. Her hair was generously painted with yumminess of bronze, gold and iridescent gold paints, I opted for free flowing hair I felt it expressed her beacon of lightness.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed the first step on my arty journey?
Have a wonderfully creative day!!!
