Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #67 ~ Sketch Challenge

Happy New Year!!!
everyone, it's year of the dog this year, hope your enjoying all the festivities, a busy week indeed with pancakes and valentine's too.

We have a new challenge on the Paperbabe Stamps blog today...
This Fortnight's is a little sketch...

I was inspired to create this piece in celebration of the Chinese New Year.
I've used the Blunt bangs Long with the head & torso mixed media templates,
with of course the female face stamp... to give a different look, I omitted the eyelashes stamp and simply drew in a suggestion of them with black copic liner pen.
having rekindled my love of copics coloured away, I thought I would bring out this vintage patterned paper from about ten years ago(I know).
Remember the old days when we would matt with gold mirri? hahaha I thought it fitted this style though so went with it...
although I do like the layered gold washi, also pretty in keeping with the theme...
I also used washi on her kimono, for the edging, which inspired the stamping on the rest of her kimono using the flower from the Oriental Zen Stamp with distress oxides, I then coloured the grey with copcis, impressed how the oxides don't 'bleed' good to remember if you ever want to stamp something in a different colour...
and I just had to finish her off adorning her hair with the large Peony & Bud flower, also coloured in copcis, in case you were wondering...

I'm entering this into a few other challenges, thank you...

Paperbabe Stamps November's New release Introductions!!!

We are introducing a new stamp set and mixed media templates on the Paperbabe Stamps blog today Yay...

I'm sharing a couple of my projects...
I had planned on attaching this cut out piece to a yummy mixed media background but really... I just loved it as it is, it could be a great shaped card or a special art piece for the mantle.
I followed my steps in the video, but had her looking in a different direction, she has been drawn on watercolour card, her head slightly tilted, her green eyes have heart pupils and I opted for the open mouth stamp.
I very simply painted her with those scrummy Neocolor II water crayons. Then fussy cut and will probably add an easel die cut to her back to help her stand.

Next
This next image may already be familiar to you, it was one of our Life Book lessons, the theme we were given was princess warrior and I wanted to show how well the female face stamps work with my other mixed media templates.
I've used the wavy central parting with the head & torso. The rosespeony were stamped and masked and I hand drew the rest of her floral head mess lol.
Here's the before and after warrior paint lol!
It has been painted with watercolours and the background has been created using stencils and hand painting the vine.
I made a crest by hand drawing around my stamped quote and watercolouring.

I even managed a little video, I'm still working on my filming skills but at least I managed to talk in this one lol!!!

AND for even further inspiration, pop by the rest of the Team blogs and check out their gorgeous projects...

Enjoy a wonderfully creative day!

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #13 ~ Brights

It's a theme challenge over at Paperbabe Stamps today...

I've used bright watercolours for my card, it's raining here today so a sunny card is just what we need.
I've used Oriental Zen for most of my card, the flowers were heat embossed in white ink and coloured with bright watercolours.
The sentiment also embossed in white and the black and white stripe pattern on the background were from the Fabulous Everything set.

I wish to enter this card to a few other challenges too...

Thanks for stopping by I will be back over the weekend to share some Paperbabe Stamps news.
Until then enjoy a wonderfully creative day!

Paperbabe Stamps First Challenge...

Hello everyone, I'm so excited today as it's our first challenge over at the Paperbabe Stamps blog...

We have a sketch for our first challenge and wait to you see the amazing projects from the team to help jumpstart your creativity...

Well, I just had to take part in our first challenge didn't I?
I turned the sketch on it's side and extended the word strip so it went along the whole card front(the hearts die cut).
The rectangle shape I used an oval instead, it's very close to the sketch lol...
So, I opted for the flowers from my Oriental Zen set, for the pop of colour and Happy thoughts sentiment stamp set fitted very well to the wedding theme.
I first stamped the flowers using memento luxe inks, then the flourish outline of 'happy' in black ink. I then used the corresponding 'happy' to stamp in silver pearl embossing powder, I stamped the 'together' twice to give a shadow effect.

I really hope you take part it's for two weeks so plenty of time to join in the fun. Thanks for stopping by, enjoy a wonderfully creative day!

Craft Stamper Take it, Make it Challenge Six

Good Morning, well I have been a bit busy for the last few weeks... designing,  Christmas card making and getting all the decorations out and dressing the tree, so it didn't leave a lot of time for other inky stuff but I'm sure the recipient has received their card so thought it fitted perfectly into the

As always, the challenge will be based on a technique showcased in the magazine, but this time we don't have one particular project in mind. Katy decided that as there are three projects featuring an 'ombre' effect in the January issue, then this is the technique we'll be focussing on!

an 'ombre' effect is just graduating colours of ink/paint/whatever....but feel free to interpret the theme as you wish!
I got out my Oriental Zen set and created an ombre background in graduating tones of green to tan inks, stamping off to get a fainter impression.
The peony, I have stamped twice, one with the leaves, then cut out with a border to look like a die cut, I cut the main flower with a border too. The sentiment comes from the Tree Hugs stamp set.

I hope you get some time to join in, the challenge runs for two months so plenty of inky time.

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderfully creative day
