More Paper Smooches :)

I just love Kim's spiffy scooters set, how adorable is that vintage scooter?
I've coloured using my copics and paper pieced the clouds and road.

This card is based on one of Kim's designer drafts #2

These were created with Kim's fabby templates... I couldn't reisist the worm popping out of the apple LOL! This card has all been paper pieced using Vintage blue papers and the edges inked.

I created something a little fun with this cupcake card, using the template and the wonderful vegtastic stamp set... I made it into a carrot cake.

*****

It's such heartbreaking news when I heard about the earthquake/tsunami in Japan.
I know I haven't mentioned anything about it, I don't want to see the footage it's not that I don't care I just can't comprehend the magnitude of what is happening...  there are things happening in the world that go beyond what I can cope with.
I want to help like so many of us...
I wish I could give more... and I came across
Shin Tanaka has designed a wonderful paper model to help requesting donations for the relief fund!...

Dillon and I will often spend time making paper models together and this one was adorable, thank you!
Maoleidigh loves it too! A little kiss of hope :)

They are in my thoughts and prayers... let us continue to pray and encourage those who are hurting, struggling. Let us rally as a community and send support to those in Japan who are lost, scared, needing rescue, needing hope ♥

Kim's fonts have always been some of my favourites and her fabulous images are super adorable!

I've made these mini little valentine's card's just 3" cuteness... one will pop into my son's lunch bag on Monday. Kim has also supplied a brilliant designer drafts to inspire and I've used three, not sure if you can tell which ones LOL!

I've used Basic Grey - Hopscotch Papers and coloured the images with copics and all the hearts have a shimmer of spica glitter.

ICSketches #32 ~ Cuteasaurus

Morning a lovely Tuesday and I'm very busy gathering the last few items of school uniform, here's my design team card for Inspirational Card Sketches...

Well, Dawn has designed a fantastic sketch as always! Please go and have a look at the other design teams fantastic makes too.
I created this one very quickly (for me) the sketch was a breeze to follow. Of course I had to use more of this fabulous new Cosmo cricket papers, mmm. I have been trying to tidy up my craft stash and finding some older stash that's been very neglected like this super Kim Hughes stamp set!!! Love it!
This cuteasaurus dino I have stamped on one of the patterned papers and coloured with my copics. I have stamped the sentiment directly onto the natural ribbon and applied double sided tape before trimming. I used my nesties to cut the felt matt and simply placed the image on top. The buttons I have added a little thread and adhered with glue dots, the card I have finished off with more natural thread tied at the front. Click images for close look.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Cosmo Cricket: boyfriend; Stamps: CHF - Kim Hughes - little guy (boy); Ink: Momento: black; markers: copic; Die's: Nestabilities: Squares; Other: grey felt; BG: buttons; natural ribbon & thread; glue dots; 3D foam;
Now onto some other news....

From the Desk of Teach, Cuttlebug Challenge #46 using Card Patterns Sketch.

I have been trying to put this post on for the past two days, how does that happen? So, Dillon will be starting back at school on Thursday and thought I would go ahead and make something for his teacher's desk which follows the Cuttlebug challenge be inspired #46 very nicely, also I bought a couple of Lauren Meaders timeless templates and fully utilised them for this project...

I altered the from the desk of template slightly to accommodate larger A6 cards but went a slightly different route... The back section houses a note card holder the all boxed up template, also altered slightly to fit snugly into the back section. More details lower down this post.

Don't you just ADORE this new line of scrumptious papers from the fabulous Cosmo Cricket? Well I very quickly got my grubby hands on some 6x6 mini pads and set to work cutting into them as soon as they arrived. I then went ahead and covered this desk box in some of the fabulous patterns, the Kraft goes so well. I have coloured the flower and leaves with my copics inspired from the papers and aged ever so slightly with some of Tim's distress inks. The 'Teach' title I have die cut and coloured with distress inks too, they came out so well.

And what desk set wouldn't be complete without wooden ruler and pencils and some little biscuit snack munchies, housed in this adorable satchel bag...

So, I won this X large die when I won a sizzix comp and this was the perfect time to give it some use, I have embellished it with buckles and some ribbon, using some fab Cosmo Cricket papers from a while back.

This is the notecard holder using the all boxed up template, it houses eight handmade note cards and coordinating envelopes. The front clasp is secured using a magnetic snap, fabulous item! I've tried to replicate an old book with worn stitching, mmm with more great paper?

As the title mentions I very loosely used the Cards pattern Sketch #29 but I didn't get it published on my blog quick enough still a lovely sketch... half are hello and the rest say thanks. You know... those little notes home!

Well I think my list of supplies might be as long as the post itself LOL!

I'M BACK!!!! online and lots to catch up on!!!

As you may know I haven't had a working telephone line for two weeks (arrhhh!).... well It's back "ON!!!" You know, I skipped and danced about and even Maoleidigh could tell something good was going on, until of course I tried to go online and alas it took a further three days for that bit to work (thanks to Nigel who pressed the right button)... turns out they had changed the old lines underground to new fab ones, it took a lot of Telecoms staff down the hole to fix that problem (I could see them from my window), I don't think I was the only one without :( But here I am back online and a lot to catch up on...

so... this is my late Design team card for Inspirational Card Sketches....
Wow this is soooo Late on my blog, sorry Dawn....

Loving this Cosmo Cricket paper and with my new Greeting Farm Anya stamps "they're so adorable". I even tried my hand and stitching on my paper. Very pleased with the result will certainly give it another go!

Inspirational Card Sketches #14

Another wonderful sketch to inspire you this Tuesday from Inspirational Card Sketches designed by the lovely Dawn! This is one of my favourite cards to date, just don't want to give it away, but it's for my Dad who's birthday is the day after mine.

I'll start with the tag... I wanted to try Tim Holtz dabber-resist technique, I used Kim Hughes fabby trees, with my copper paint and I followed the video. I over-stamped the whole image using the script stamp with distress ink, then blended a few distress ink colours over tag with my blending tool. I didn't think the painted outline of the tree was enough so dabbed some paint onto my non stick sheet and used my water brush to fill in the trunk and tree tops. The flying bird I have simply stamped with black ink directly over everything. I have used a grommet to embellish the hole. Tee Hee... that was just the tag, the rest was really very simple. Loving this sassafras papers the edging is gorgeous and lent itself to the sketch very well. I have simply cut two slots in the patterned paper to slide the tag into. The bookplate is a Sassafras chipboard, I've attached with brads and the sentiment I have stamped onto Kraft paper and embellished with a little (man) bling LOL. I have placed a few yummilicious buttons with glue dots. Click images to get a good look at the details.

Materials:
Paper: Sassafras, PTI - Kraft, MM - Natural,
Stamps: CHF - Kim Hughes spring trees, script background, Studio Calico, PTI - Out on a limb,
Ink: Archival - black, distress inks, Tim's paint dabbers,
Die's: Sizzix - Dog Tags,
Other: Adhesive bling, Sassafras chipboard sticker shapes, buttons, grommet, Big Bite, glue dots, 3Dimensional foam,

Hope you get inspired and have a try at a new technique and join us this week. Thanks for stopping by and if you get the chance I would love if you popped back tomorrow I will have another card and some good news and I'm afraid some bad news, have a fantastic day ♥ HuGs Kim x
