Paperbabe Stamps Challenge 113 ~ Sketch (mid challenge inspiration)

Hello everyone!!!
Hope you're having a lovely week, I have been very sluggish after my very hectic year so far, the Hochanda shows and my brother's funeral really took it out of me, but I actually managed to get some ink on paper, or should I say I actually managed to finish something creative, as I have quite a few projects on the go and none of them even close...

So, there is still plenty of time to take part in our current Challenge, and I'm sharing a little project which could possibly suit a couple, loved one or an anniversary, etc...

I think I have followed the essence of the sketch pretty closely, if you turned it 90° anticlockwise, and then mirrored it, obviously, which I only realised after I stamped the first line of decorative detail using the designa tweed stamps, I love how the elements are separate. I also stamped the words above and below, I think it gives the vibe of a playing card? Like a King & Queen, now I should have added some crowds.
I started this with a little play on the gelli plate using evergreen bough distress oxides as a base colour and flicking on some watered down brushos. Some yellow, violet, gamboge and ost red, phew...
I stamped the no.1 flourish, their faces, the hearts and details in versafine clair twilight, as well as blending the same ink around the flourish mask to help frame her face and using the male face mask to add a little depth.
I used the brusho's as watercolours to add some details to their faces, but I think I'm in danger of making them look a bit close to demonic or maybe a bit vamp... this is what happens when you binge the second series of Sabrina hahaha.

Well, I pretty much used most of the latest release for this, apart from the hands which now I'm thinking would make a great addition to have her hand stamped on his chest...

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #44 ~ Picture Inspiration

we have a lovely picture inspiration to challenge you this fortnight over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog today...

I had loads of fun creating this drawing I was completely inspired to use only ink as it's Inktober and I would love to be taking part, but I just can't spare the time right now.
So, I used lots of my mixed media templates...
Firstly the Long loose wave for her flowing hair along with the all important head & torso template. I started with pencil and went over the lines in black pen, and biro for the thinner faint lines. I stamped her features using the female face stamp.
I'm also trying to practice hands so I added one in my design using the hand template. The picture reminded me of a fashion shot so thought I would add a fabulous beanie hat and stamped the yummy houndstooth pattern from the Design a Tweed stamp set, through the negative parts of the hat template.

Thanks for stopping by, I am currently busy looking for a new home, packing when I can and creating samples for our new release, next week, phew!
I think all us artist must have a little bit of crazy!
Enjoy a wonderfully creative weekend!!!

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #34 ~ Sketch

Today we have a new sketch challenge over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog...

I created this fun birthday card using the DesignA Tweed to follow the background panel on the sketch.
The Panda embellishment was very easy to put together using the DesignA Adorimals trimmed with a little border.
I added a few ink blobs from watercolour alphabet, partly to cover the smudge I had made from the stitching too.
and finished with a sentiment from Birthday Wishes.

I'm also entering this into...

Paperbabe Stamps Introducing DesignA Tweed

So it's our final day of introductions on the Paperbabe Stamps blog today...
And we are showcasing the DesignA Tweed stamp set. I have wanted to get this made into a stamp for some time now and here it is... I have so many pattern ideas I just haven't had the time to try yet.

I hope you like my samples so far...
I was so pleased with the burberry result, I've stamped the black using the medium stripe, then stamped again in pale ink between and then the thin red stripes. I coloured the remaining pattern with copic marker. I will definitely be trying this version again. I paired it with Thank you stamp.
I loved this grey check but the photo is making the red really really pop out, and it's just not that overpowering in real life. The strip at the bottom of the card has a subtle houndstooth stamped tone on tone. I finished off with the big Love & Laughter Sentiment stamp.
I wanted to create a feeling of tweed with this one, I think I would use a darker ink next time. The fabulous deer was heat embossed in gold on acetate then fussy cut out, I teamed it with a Christmas sentiment but I think it could work with any type.
I stamped the stocking in the herringbone stamp in red ink on cream card. The background is a very dark green and I stamped the solid lines and heat embossed in gold. I use a cosy Christmas sentiment to finish.
I really have so so many ideas of checks and plaids that I just tried a few on some mini heart tags. They've been dipped in gold tee hee, no I have heat embossed the bottom part... a little faux gold leaf but really it just looks like embossing lol!
This picture shows the shine better.

If you have time to, pop by the rest of the team to see their take on the DesignA Tweed Stamp set...

I'm sure the schools are finishing for Christmas holidays today, I hope you have a lovely Christmas and we will be back in the new year for our next challenge.

Enjoy a wonderfully creative holiday!
