2Sketches4you and DCM Hearts

The Dare over at DCM this week is to include hearts so I've made lots of hearts not to dissimilar to the border sticker included in the Basic Grey Bittersweet collection. I have used the fabulous sketch #18 over at 2Sketches4you by the very talented Laura, thank you!

This stamp it just too cute and who could possibly resist inking it up as soon as it comes through your letterbox? I have paper pieced the image using bittersweet papers and copic markers to colour the rest! She has been raised on 3d foam and embellished with Sakura Stardust and stickles. You should be able to see the sparkle in one of the close ups!

The border of hearts is die cut from different patterned paper inked around edges and raised on 3d foam. The background paper has lots of hearts over and the stamp sticker in the corner has a heart flower (think that covers the heart theme!) The sentiment is die cut. I have been playing with my camera the weather just makes photos really poor! Click on pictures for a close up!

Materials:
Paper: Basic Grey - Bittersweet, heavy weight cartridge,
Stamps: The Greeting Farm -
Angel Anya,
Die's: Nestabilities - Circle's, Sizzix - Hearts, Endless love alphabet,
Ink: Distress inks, sakura - stardust, stickles, copic sketch markers,
Other: Basic Grey bittersweet stickers, Adhesive gems and Bling, 3D foam,
Thanks for stopping by, will catch up with you over the weekend, HuGs Kim x

Happy New Year...

To start, I wish each and everyone of you a very special 2009!!! Hope that you have many dreams and a fun filled wonderful year planned!

I created this thank you card using the sketch over at 2sketches4you and the beautiful new stamp designed by Leanne Ellis... which you can find over at Sugar Nellie.

I've made quite a few thank you cards lately, so thought I could be cheeky and use this one for the dare over on Daring Cardmakers aswell.

This image is adorable and I wanted to use my watercolours for it! I'm using infuse papers and that's inspired the colours I picked! The stamped thank you was a bit tricky to get straight but hoping it's not too obvious! Laura's Sketch 16 was a great sketch to work with and I kept mine very simple, think I could make quite a few of these in little time!

Materials:
Paper: BG - infuse, MM - stone, salt & pepper cardstock,
Stamps: Leanne Ellis - True Love, PTI - Basic alphabet
Die's: Nestabilities - circles,
Ink: Versafine black, colourbox - dark moss, watercolour pencils,
Other: American crafts ribbon, adhesive gems & bling, 3D foam,

I hope the pictures are clear and bright it's so difficult taking picture's in this poor weather! I will have my Design Team card for Basic Grey Challenges tomorrow, so come have a look!
Thanks you for stopping by and for all your congrats still stupidly grinning you know! HuGs Kim x

Flower Wrap

Well it's been a week since I've posted anything on my blog, not that I haven't been crafting just didn't want to ruin any surprises! This card I thought would be perfect for the challenge over at DCM...

It’s a Wrap

No, not the kind stuffed with Chicken & Cesar Salad or the woolly kind you put around your shoulders to keep you warm, mind you, the way our summer is going I think we could all do with one of those!I would like you to give your card a coat made of acetate, vellum or anything for that matter. As long as it ‘wraps’ around the outside of your card, anything goes!

I experimented a bit with this card, very pleased with the flower, It's die cut and I've coloured over with my copic markers and then blended and textured with alcohol blending solution and Tim Holtz blending thingy!

Click the images to get a close up! Instead of just sticking the flower to the front of card I decided to use adhesive Velcro dots! I think this was a first using my gromlets too! The rest of acetate is stamped with white staz on!

Materials:

Paper: BG boxer, Acetate, white card,

Die's: Nestabilities squares, Sizzix Daisies,

Stamps: Basic Grey Clear Stamp Set - Flourish Edges

Ink: Staz On white, Copic markers, Alcohol blending solution,

Other: Glossy accents, Tim's blending thingy, glue pen, velcro dots, 3D foam, gromlets, crop a dile, yummy adhesive gems.

Thanks for stopping by! BiG HuGs and hopefully I won't leave it to long for the next post!

Scrumdiddlyumptious Cup Cake

The challenge over at Daring Cardmakers is Scrumdiddlyumptious, All things foodie - feature a food you associate with summer and sunny days (just to remind us of those summer feelings)
We're looking forward to drooling over strawberries and cream, ice cream sundaes, and long, cool cocktails - we're sure you'll make our mouths water with your delicious cards,

OK it's not a very summery food but this year we haven't had much of a summer to celebrate about! So... we all love cupcakes and you can have them all year round. Cover them in summery colours and you're nearly there, it's a little cup of treats!

Another Thanks

This was for the quick challenge over on DCM...
I want you to make a QUICK CARD! a card that takes you no more than hmm say 30 minutes max to do - start to finish. No set ingredients and pick your own theme, but be quick and be crafty!

Materials:
Paper: K & Co, other matching scraps in my stash,
Die's: CBg tag alpha,
Other: Glossy Accents, 3D foam.

Prayer Tree

I managed to do another dare for daring cardmakers:

DCM: Quoted by....

Jane this week has dared us all to include a quote on our card. Stamped, Computer Generated or Rub Ons it doesn't matter and choose your own style or occasion.

Using THIS sketch over on Lauren's Blog

It's a sympathy card but I think it can work for other occasions! I'm pleased with the results and it was quick to create too. Just need to know where to score the lines and that guides the stamping!

2 Scoop Wishes

I made this Birthday card to cover three challenges....

DCM: The Design Team have been busy working on this weeks dare ' It's all in the Shape' set by me. I'm a fan of shaped cards so thought this was a great one to do for my first dare. You can do any theme but your card has to be a shape of some sort.

and

PTW: Onto this weeks challenge, 'To die for!' is simply to use die cuts or punched shapes on your projects! So nice and easy - go grab your dies and lets see your creations!! lol
and
CCT: Challenge 12, This week we are asking you to use patterned paper on your card in honour of our fabulous blog candy donated by Andrea of Kaboodle Doodles. She is offering one lucky winner, chosen at random next week, some fabulous downloads. Pop on over to her website here and check out the gorgeous papers available to download!

Really enjoyed making this, using two of my favourite things, die cuts and patterned paper. I used my nestabitilies to cut the flower, 5 ovals in 2Scoops pp, large scallop circle in vellum, then the large circle in more 2Scoops pp. I placed the completed flower shape onto card trimmed around keeping a hinge on the right. Base card complete!

The butterfly I die cut from different pieces of 2Scoops pp, glitter card and vellum. The wishes are rub ons. I think I might add a little more glitter to the butterfly wings before I post it off!

Materials:
Paper: BG 2 Scoops, PM vellum, DCWV glitter stack, 2tones banana split.
Die's: Sizzix build a butterfly, Nestabilities circles and ovals.
Other: PM rubons, 3d foam, glue pen!

Thanks for visiting and leaving your wonderful comments, it really cheers me up to read them! HuGs Kim x

DCM & My Time

These cards cover two challenges....

DCM - Our midweek Little Extra is titled ‘The Flowers That Bloom In The Spring’ and we would like you to create a card with flowers.Simple?

Aww but hold on…….there’s a little twist because we don’t want to make it too easy for you. We want your cards to have flowers on but we don’t want to see any Prima’s or shop brought blooms. The idea of this dare is for you create your flowers yourself, so let’s see what you can come up with.

And Lauren Meader Saturday Sketch was to keep it in the corner.

I used a sizzix flower stamp which I stamped in the corner, masked to stamp more images. I then reinked and stamped on different coloured papers, cut each section and layered on top of each other. I embellished with gem and glitter pen.

DCM - All in the Game....

This week the girls have let me (Sue) loose on my maiden dare so I hope I’ve come up with something you can all play along with. It’s all in the Game Tiddlywinks, playing cards, domino's, jig saw pieces…….the list goes on and I’m sure that most of us have a drawer somewhere that has the odd one or two of these lying around in.Well now’s your chance to use them because I dare you to make a card using some of those pieces.Oh and no, you don’t need to throw a double six to start playing.

I did the base card to look like a playing card, I free hand cut the diamond and bit for the spade using heart for the rest. The large dice I made by cutting square and using circle punch to give the six circles then layered onto darker card.

The background target I used my circles nestabilities and layered flat. The woman on the dice I free hand drew onto scrap paper and cut out from black card to give silhouette shape.
