Paperbabe stamps Challenges #116 ~ Theme ~ Birthdays

Good morning I'm here to share my project for our current challenge over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog...
I was my daughters birthday yesterday, our first family birthday in 'lockdown'  but we had plenty of fun. My cake baking has taken a bit of a downtime too I'm completely out of practice, I think I ended up making a backup cake that really wasn't any better than the first, hahaha, I'm missing those favourite baking ingredients I can usually pick up...
Also the colour dried completely different overnight, what's with this paper? whatever emulsion they coat on this stuff makes it a bit hit and miss. I used distress oxides, I guess if I wanted to get this again it wouldn't work, lol. I did mask the yellow stripes to match the knit pattern up not that it's very noticeable in the finish.
Was it the colours or the cute round glasses that really give the card theme away? Maoleidigh is a huge Harry Potter fan, I might have come across the most amazing Harry Potter trunk with all the fabulous goodies inside... awesome gift she still hasn't taken the HP top off hahaha, all ready for her first day at Hogwarts.
So I treated myself to this Karen Burniston's awesome die, love it, so clever, I have lots of ideas with this die, I can't wait to get some creative time in soon.

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #34 ~ Sketch

Today we have a new sketch challenge over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog...

I created this fun birthday card using the DesignA Tweed to follow the background panel on the sketch.
The Panda embellishment was very easy to put together using the DesignA Adorimals trimmed with a little border.
I added a few ink blobs from watercolour alphabet, partly to cover the smudge I had made from the stitching too.
and finished with a sentiment from Birthday Wishes.

I'm also entering this into...

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #33 ~ Black & White

Good Morning, Friday 13th

We have a lovely challenge over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog today it's Black & white...
This card came together so quickly I've used a few different stamps to create my collaged card,
the Wonderland Check background was partly inked to give soft edges for the background.
The floral image was the delightful flower from Oriental zen, the sentiment and some dots from Birthday Wishes set
and a few finishing touches using the watercolour alphabet.

I'm sharing this on ~ (click pictures)

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #32 ~ Birthdays!

Good Morning,

We have a lovely challenge over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog today one we all get to celebrate...

I created a birthday card for my dad, who's birthday is tomorrow the day after mine, lol.
I've used the DesignA Tweed builder set to create the fabric texture and trimmed the cardstock to match the sketch.
The background is die cut tools out of kraft card to look like faux embossing, so fun!
the Birthday wishes stamp set I have heat embossed in gold for the sentiment.

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #29 ~ Picture Inspiration

Wow what a hard week, March was my mum's birthday, mother's day and seeing as she was Irish, St Patricks too, definitely miss celebrating with her, new memories just don't compare...

We have a lovely springtime challenge over on the
Paperbabe Stamps blog today...
and I've created a fun little card featuring an easter Birthday bunny.
I had so much fun creating my little Adorimal bunny with cute Kawaii face.
I used two colours on the solid stamp parts to give a darker edge to the image. I wanted to keep it soft to keep with the colours in the picture so used a brown ink for all the outlines.
I am loving the speckled egg, I coloured it with distress inks before stamping with the Spritz and speckles stamp set.
The birthday Sentiment and Houndstooth were heat embossed in platinum yum. I've added a little extra detail with the dots from the Birthday wishes set.

I'm also entering this card to a few other challenges...

Paperbabe Stamps ~ Introducing Birthday Wishes

Hi I have a few cards showcasing the new Birthday Wishes stamp set being introduced on the Paperbabe Stamps blog today...

With it being Chinese new year yesterday I thought it would be fun to create a special celebration card, complete with Adorimal monkey as it's year of the monkey. I have stamped this little character onto leather effect adhesive paper and fussy cut all the components before adhering in place. The sentiment has been heat embossed in gold powder.

next
I am so pleased with how the herringbone background came out, I used the DesignA Tweed stamp with distress ink to give it a more muted tone, you could definitely use this in different colour ways to suit female recipients. The sentiment has been built up and stamped in black ink, with a few decorative dots & confetti.

I have a few more to show...
I was inspired by this card, I simply swapped the colours, but the embossing didn't come out as clear in this colour.
I've used the cluster of dots to create a background of confetti, the sentiments have also been heat embossed.
And finally these cutie 4" mini cards, with a row of pretty candles all lit up, this would be great in any colour! and so quick to reproduce, I simply lined up five candles snugly beside each other on a block and repeat stamped them on the edge. Finished with little flames and a sentiment.

Sorry my pictures are so dull looking, just pretty overcast weather conditions here.
Enjoy your pancakes if you're having any,

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge ~ #8

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge is a sketch and here's my interpretation,

I have painted Little Red with watercolour very quickly... to then mask before stamping layers of Spritz & speckles in blues and greens for the background. The sentiment is from Fabulous everything set.

Then I used the Large Peony stamp(will be on re-order soon) with gilding flakes for an interesting feature. I've seen quite a bit of foiling and gold work round blog land it was fun to try.

I just love what the team has created, maybe you would like to join in to? It's open to everyone and you have the chance of winning even without Paperbabe Stamps.

Have a wonderfully creative day, BiG HuGs Kim x
