Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #30 ~ Sketch

Well April has just arrived, wow, March has been a blur.
It's my little girl Maoleidigh's Eighth Birthday tomorrow, so I've been trying to bake her a cake, if it's any good I will take a picture lol!

We have an easy sketch challenge over on the
Paperbabe Stamps blog today...
and I've created a fun little card featuring a baby bear.

I had so much fun creating this little fella, an Adorimal bear with cute Kawaii face.
I stamped the Adorimal elements onto watercolour paper and I've used neocolor II and a little water to colour him in. For the sentiment I used the Watercolour Alphabet and simply stamped each letter eyeballing them as I went.
I treated myself to some of Lucy's gorgeous sequins and added a few of them, I love the way their colour changes depending on the direction you're looking at them.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
LIL PATCH OF CRAFTY FRIENDS – Challenge #30: Anything Goes
CREATE AND INSPIRE – Challenge #42: Anything Goes
CRAFTING FROM THE HEART – Challenge #105: Anything Goes

Little Sprout ~ Baby Card, ICS - DT...

This Tuesday from Inspirational Card Sketches brings you a fantastic sketch to inspire you, designed by the very lovely Dawn!

I got this GORGEOUS crate paper collection the other day with the super cute stamps and had to use them. Really love the different colours soft yet not very gender dominated. Although I have tended more to the blue for this baby card as it's needed for a boy.
I was so impressed with the thickness I could cut with my nesties and in one of the close ups you can really see the layers. I have stamped the sentiment and when it was dry I went over with a generous squeeze of glossy accents. I put one piece of the decorative paper through the Swiss dots E.F, and sanded lightly, then I have simply layered the other patterned papers following the sketch. Hope you didn't miss those adorable mushrooms stamped in the bottom corner!!! and click the close ups to enlarge the image.

Materials:
Paper: Crate paper, DCWV textured card,
Die's: Nesties - rectangles, Cutb'g - Dots E.F,
Stamps: Crate Paper - little sprout,
Ink: Colourbox queues,
Other: Glossy accents, natural ribbon & string, bg - buttons, double sided adhesive sheet, 3D foam,

Hope you get the chance to have a go looking forward to seeing your inspirations, thanks for stopping by, HuGs Kim x

2Sketches4You and Colour Create Baby Card.

Wow it has been such a long time since I've had the chance to have a go at one the wonderful sketches at 2sketches4you. So this card follows Laura's Fabulous sketch and I have also used the colours and inspiration from Colour Create Challenges which is black and white and pink with the extra of polka dots...
The pink on my card is very pale as I wanted it to congratulate a new baby girl's mother... Lots of stamping with this card... the damask I have stamped and cut out, the sentiment I have stamped and cut out and the gingham is stamped and I have run my thread tracer to create stitching and roughed the edge slightly. It definitely needed the bling and it's so hard to stop I could very easily continued...LOL! Please click on the close ups to enlarge!

Materials:
Paper: Dena's closet - home sweet home, Core'dinations - black magic,
Die's: Punch - Martha Stewart,

Sugar Bowl Sketch

I'm quite sure that you've all heard of the new challenge blog created by Sugar Nellie... The Sugar Bowl.... They would like to see your creations, using this fantastic sketch by Tiets.

You may rotate, re size or elongate the sketch, you can even make something other than a card, all that we ask is that we can see that the item has followed the sketch.
and I thought I would have a go...
I stamped the image directly onto the patterned paper and paper pieced a few details! I inked edges and raised it on 3d foam! Originally I thought this was a bunny but Dillon said nice doggy so I'm very mistaken and may have to give it a fluffy tail one day just for the sake of it! Love this double sided paper, it's gorgeous colours! The Rub On sentiment (thank you secret sister Sammi) I cut in half to fit it on tag and the corner!
Materials:
Paper: Cosmo Cricket - Storytime,
Stamps: Sugar Nellie - Macbeth,
Die's: Nestabilities - long, squares, Cutb'g - tag,
Ink: Versafine black, colourbox - dark moss,
Other: American crafts ribbon, Paper lace, RubOn Sentiment, Tim's edge distresser, adhesive gems & bling, 3D foam,
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Sunday, HuGs Kim x

Papertake - Sketch Envelope

This weeks challenge over at Papertake weekly is another of Katharinas fab sketches #28 and this week Whiff of Joy (Katharina's stamp company) are sponsoring the challenge!

Instead of using the sketch on the card I decided to use it on the envelope, the idea for these (I managed to make six in an evening) is to be a little pocket card with a prayer inside for expectant couples!
I wanted neutral tones to suit a couple! this wood paper really is lovely for embossing I adhered it to some card first! This holds the flap of the envelope closed! I have used acetate behind the aperture to hold the embellishments!

In fishing my boyfriend just has to have the latest in new gear and he is called tackle tart, well.... in the crafting world I must be a tool tart, I just can't help but want the next new thing and I "treated" (makes buying stuff sound more acceptable!) myself to the new Sizzix movers and shapers! Very pleased with them, love how easy they are to duplicate! your designs!

Materials:
Paper: K&Co - lifes journey, wood paper, white card,
Die's: Sizzix
movers and shapers, flower layers, button, cross embossing folder, punches - foot, butterfly.
Stamps:
PTI - out on a limb,
Ink: Adirondak, colourbox creamy brown,
Other: Glue pen, 3D foam, double sided adhesive sheet, yummy adhesive lace ribbon & gem.

Thanks for stopping by and for leaving me wonderful comments! My comments can be found at the top of the post! I will try uploading more very soon, HuGs Kim x

Cute Card and a little Tutorial

I thought I would make a card with the sketch on Cute Card Thursday challenge 11 and show a little tutorial of my scalloped edges using my nestabilities.
I was asked how I got the scalloped edges on this card with my nestabilities....
Here goes, it's not very professional but I hope you get the idea and if you have any questions be sure to ask!

I'm using vellum, first I have trimmed to width I need, now I'm scoring to where the scallop will be see next pic.

Next I lay this to the part of the scallop that cuts, I've used a tiny bit of masking tape to secure! Make sure it is shy of the end scallop! click pic to enlarge.

Next is the clever bit... Get yourself a small cutting pad I'm using sidekick cutting pads these are great for so many things and it means you can cut a little quicker and cover small areas!

You NEED to lay the cutting pad so that it stops before and doesn't cover the corner scallop under your paper, otherwise you won't get a straight edge!

See how the cut stops.

Next you need to move your half cut paper... placing the cut scallops in each scallop past the die and following the previous directions. If you are doing a very long piece then I would suggest turning your cutting Matt and only doing the two inches it allows!

Finished, I love the size of these scallops I can't find scissors that cut that large. Thanks for keeping up with me I hope it was clear enough for you!

Now attach scallop paper to card. Recently I have actually been buying stamps (a lot of stamps)... It's only in the last few months that I've really been getting into them! So you're sure to see a lot more stamped cards now! I like the image on this card but still not sure on the foam lettering. I used vellum to keep the pretty patterned paper!

Materials:
Paper: DCWV, PM cream vellum, pink from stash.
Die's:
Nestabilities squares and ovals, sizzix alphabet.
Stamps: Baby girl Bear,(while there I ordered super cute stamp sets from Pink Cat studio, the Billy stamps and Dress up Lily)
Ink: Black Staz On, whispers brush pens.
Other: grosgrain ribbon, stardust pen, Funky foam, 3D foam.

Thanks for stopping by this was a bit of long post I hope you enjoyed! HuGs Kim

Baptism Card and Album.

I created this card for the cute Thursday challenge, because I forgot to include the previous card with rabbit as an entry, so I'm way to late to be included for the candy....

Challenge 2
All Creatures Great and Small!
This week we would like to see creatures on your cards, they can be animals, birds, fish even dinosaurs or dragons. Absolutely any creature imaginable!

I based the card on sketch #7 Nicole's sketch, I mirrored the sketch.

This is a baptism card, I had always wanted to try the glitter effect on acetate. I stamped the cross with stazon then glued and glittered each colour. It's very impressive in Real life. To attach the acetate I used an eyelet in the centre so the corners are loose. Love this lamb, I die cut the lamb and inked all the edges.

I used my embossing folder for the paper behind the image. I would have inked the edges but forgot but I managed to ink the letters.

Then I made an album to create a set. The cover is made with grey board that I covered with patterned paper & the heart was die cut and I used acetate to keep the floating effect it's like a window. I embellished with Name and metal charm. Tied with ribbon. The year is done with rub ons.
