Carole's Crafts Class

I was absolutely delighted to find a brand new craft shop in High Wycombe, Carole's Crafts, the nearest craft shop is probably about 20 miles away. They have all sorts of wonderful things in there... some lovely stamps, beads, dies and yummy paper products,  etc, I could go on, lol.

The reason for this is I will be teaching a mini class next Saturday 4th August... this will be my first craft class I'm very excited... It starts at 10am, a nice time of morning so join me for a couple of hours of fun and crafting. We will be creating decorative stamped magnets, I will show stamping & colouring and all supplies are included!

So if you're visiting the High Wycombe area it is in the Chiltern Centre... you cannot miss it, it's next door to primark, the same side as the Post Office. Carole's Crafts are still sorting out telephone and internet services so if you pop me an email or leave a comment if you're interested in attending I will get your name on the list!

Thank you have a wonderfully creative Day

Distress Stain Picture frame

Hello there, wanted to stop by with a little gift idea I have over at Quixotic
I wanted a gift for my sis from my two little ones, the top picture is of the handsome Dillon, then a little drawing he did in the middle and last but by no means least the adorable Maoleidigh! Not sure the photo shows them very clear!

 I have stained the wood with Tim Holtz Distress Stain - Broken China, love the result! Then I have stamped Stempelglede - Grunge Collection on the frame and enhanced with perfect pearl powder.

Then embellished with Viva Decor: Glitter Liner - Holo Iridescent, I also rubbed a little of the glitter onto the frame too!

Okay so... this will be my last post for a while as I'm having a blogging break...
Thank you so much for stopping by hope you have a fabulously creative day!

Simon Says Stamp & Show ~ A Word!

Good Morning!!! I hope you had a fabulous weekend and ready for this week's theme...
 at
is

A WORD
  Inspired by Rachel Jackson's article in Craft Stamper this month I decided to try my hand and alter an old book! Well actually it's an old dairy from 2006 that I just didn't use. So, after creating an opening at the front I have collaged the cover with strips torn from old book pages and applied with Claudine Helmuth's Matte Medium. Then coloured with Aged Mahogany, Black Soot and Walnut stain DI.

The central torn pages have been inked with a little vintage photo. The main image is from Tim's Papillon Stamps and sprayed with a little Heirloom gold perfect pearls mist.

The flower is made using Tim's tattered florals die, the leaves from Wendy's stamp and both cut from the Lost and Found card stack.

The Bookplate has been covered with sticky metal foil tape, adhered to grungeboard, embossed and aged with paint dabbers. The 'Fly' word is die cut from the same metal tape and I've added a couple of mini brads too!

Simon Says Stamp & Show your... Ephemera

Good Morning!!! I hope you had a fabulous weekend and ready for this week's theme...

 at

is
Ephemera...
 "a class of collectable items not originally intended to last for more than a short time, such as tickets, posters, postcards, or labels..."

I was inspired to create a vintage box frame, I painted the box with cranberry paint dabber first, it dries so quickly! Then I adorned the front with handmade grungepaper roses, all inked with Victorian velvet distress inks... phew!!!

So, it's was time for the box to be filled, with a collection of ephemera, a few goodies created using Tim's Pappillon stamps for the butterfly and background.

For the ticket's and the postcard, It's a little tricky to see I have also included some real dried pressed flowers. Courtesy of my mum thank you :) Then Finished it off with a shimmering of Heirloom gold. YUM!!!

Simon Says Stamp and Show Your...

Oooh it's the first Monday of 2011...
so I'm bringing you right onto this week's theme at Simon Says Stamp and Show which is....

Your Newest Stamp!!!

My newest stamp is a couple of crafty secrets sets, although they're an older set I have only had them a few days... so set to work and decided to make a vintage hanging using sweet stuff. I started with some of Wendy's magnificent art parts, covered them with some gorgeous cosmo cricket's circa 1934 patterned papers and inked all the edges with distress inks, I've used a cotton bud to ink the holes.

The background was created by stamping directly onto sticky back canvas and I then heat embossed to give a red work effect. I have used distress inks to add colour to the background by masking the images.

The adorable birds are paper pieced and raised on adhesive foam. I've then added a few flower's created using Tattered florals die with pearl centre's. Finished off with a bow of seam binding and a little vintage lace sprayed with sand glimmer mist.

Hope it inspires and why not pop round the rest of the team to see their newest stamp!!!

Simon Says Stamp & Show... Your Distress Inks!

It's MONDAY!!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend...
and are ready for a new challenge over

Show your Distress Inks!!!

Well... I most definitely use distress inks in every project!!! It is the base colour under the crackle effect on my little dimensional bird cage box. Yes a box,

originally thought I would make a frame by cutting layers of the bird cage from grey board then decided a lid would work fabulously for the other embellishments!

It is with a touch of Vintage Photo distress ink that enhance the edges of the die cut bird, cut using the gorgeous new curio BasicGrey papers, yum!

My handmade flowers were cut with the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die again with curio papers, then sprayed with some distress ink glimmer mist.

Now, the handmade gem in the centre of the flower was created using my melting pot and UTEE powders. I wanted to try some Leandra beads, which were sooo much fun and then it extended from there and I made some heart and pebble shapes...

 The branch is cut from Tim Holtz Branch die and the cage is secured at the top with a idea-ology swivel claspHad to add some of Tim Holtz baubles secured with jump rings.

Hope it inspires and why not pop round the rest of the team to see how they include distress inks!!!

Simon Says Stamp & Show ~ Whatever Makes You Happy

It's MONDAY!!!
which brings me straight onto the challenge over at

"Whatever Makes You Happy..."

Sooo many crafty things make me happy... I just couldn't fit any more onto my piece LOL.

I have been eager to create a spool with Wendy's Art Parts since I got them and also had to incorporate a vast selection of Wendy Vecchi fabulous stamps ~ Botanical art, Alphabetically art, Nature's art, Ticket to art,

I used Brilliance pigment ink moonlight white as a base to make the distress ink colours lighter, little did I know they would be sooo much paler and slightly shimmery with the brilliance ink. I must have applied ten layers of mustard seed dsitress ink on this large flower not that you can see it, haha! I then stamped patterns in both Coffee and Black archival ink.
HAD to add one of Tim Holtz Fanciful buttons... gorgeous!!!

I've used sticky back canvas for around the spools inked, stamped and secured with memo pin.

Hope it inspires and why not pop round the rest of the teams Happy Creations!!!

It's time for Quixotic Challenge and this weeks' has been set by the wonderful Rowena...

'GIFT IT'
Create a gift project - calendar/candle/trinket box/wall hanger/etc.
The Design Team have some wonderful inspiration to share...
I thought I would try my hand at altering an ornate plate, it's a little something I saw at Ally Pally show and as I have a melt pot I HAD to try...

I've melted some cosmic shimmer embossing powder and poured into the plate, then dropped in the rose charm waited for it to cool then secured the back.
I have inked up this little angel charm to age and distress it, so it toned in with the ornate plate!
Also the ball chain was shockingly bright and clean so I inked that up too!
The box has been cut and inked, I decided to stamp the sentiment on the inside...
then the beautiful tree & birds silhouette on the box top.

Simon Says Stamp & Show ~ Sweet Lord of... 'Tim Holtz' style!!!

Welcome... it's the start of the week and we're now on our third

and this week... it's all about your Lord of 'Tim Holtz' style...

This altered tin came about as I found it so so hard to narrow down to just a few Tim Holtz inspired elements... Although I picked a pretty small item to alter I think I crammed as much as I could on it LOL! I prepared the tin with pitch black paint dabber and (as my crackle paint has dried up) I went ahead and used elmers glue and a blue paint badder for the crackle effect. Tattered florals is one of my go to dies cut with TH vintage shabby papers, inky edges and perfect pearls mini mister mist.. Of course I had to add a couple of tickets and grunge elements inked with distress ink and embossing powder.

For added fun I cut TH heart wings from shrink plastic to make my own magnetic charm which of course menas it stays onto the tin without adhesive. As I might be a little impatient I applied glossy accents on the top before the silver paint had time to dry which resulted in the speckled effect! Then for a little change on the fabulous 'Wendy Vechi' memo pin embellishment, I inked a foliage flower with alcohol ink adhered a stone in the centre and continued to fill memo pin with glossy accents. Which after a couple of days still hasn't dried clear must be the metal with metal too enclosed unlike using paper.

Supplies: Paper: Grunge paper; Tim Holtz: vintage shabby; kraft; Shrink plastic;
Stamps: Tim Holtz: odds and ends 100th Set;
Ink: Archival: black; Ranger ~ Distress inks: distress stickles; Adirondack: paint dabber: aqua; pitch black; silver; Alcohol ink : terracotta;
Dies: Sizzix ~ 3d flower; Tim Holtz: tattered florals; Heart wings;
Other: Felt; TH: memo pins; Accoutrements; Foliage flowers; Glossy accents; perfect pearls: gold; Adhesive stones; Magnetic snaps; Silver embossing powder; distress embossing powder; hemp twine; sweetie tin; 3D foam;

Thank you so much for stopping by I hope you feel inspired and check out the rest of the teams stunning Tim Holtz inspired projects!!!

Quixotic Challenge #36 ~ Alter It!!!

This is my second post today if you would love to scroll down to view my Club Anya magnet tutorial, Thanks :)

The challenge this week over at Quixotic Paperie has been chosen by the wonderful Rowena...

Alter It! Alter an item, or create a card using for example altered chipboard etc.
I did try altering the background papers with distress crackle paint but mine's dried up and not cracking well! Loving these papers and I have cut a few of the rabbit images out to place behind the filmstrip ribbon. So I've inked edges, added paint dabber under the left panel and the main altering is the witches hat, cut from grungepaper, painted with pitch black and applied a generous amount of clear crackle rock candy! I've also altered the colour of the string with distress inks and sanded the metal corner a little! Finished with a few random viva decor pearl paint drops!

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Graphic 45 Halloween in Wonderland; Grunge paper;
Ink: ~ distress clear crackle paint;
Other:Viva decor ~ pearl paints; Tim Holtz: corners; filmstrip ribbon; paint dabber; mini fasteners; 3D foam;

I'm also entering this in for the wonderful Compendium of Curiosities, Week 9! Which is using distress crackle paint, I've used my clear as my other colour has run dry!

I have followed Mercy's fabulous Tuesday sketch #86,
Thanks so much for stopping by, have a fabulous & creative Day,
