Cuttlebug be inspired #34 ~ Birthday Party Invitation

This is a really quick post... for cuttlebug birthday challenge...

Now as is always the case when your in a hurry etc etc camera dies and there's no charged batteries or the other type. searching I found some older charged with just enough juice to take these really terrible photos.... but hoping I'm not too late for this one, it says on Tuesday night at midnight (EDT) we will choose one invitation winner, it's not quite that time yet....
Wanted to mention the invite has embossing on the acetate wings and the glittery tummy, and just in case you can make it out in the pic the pink on the dragon is fun flocked. SO FUN!!! I have layered a few pages inside with the party details..
This is a Damsel and Dragons theme the first page of the invite says:
Damsel
or Dragon
Which one
will you
Be?
PTO to
RSVP
then the rest of deets on each page... I have made a quick little embossed envelope for it to go in. BUT the really fun detail is the fact that it's a magnet so instead of searching high and low for one to stick the invite to the fridge this one is good and ready... (I would have taken a pic for that too)... maybe tomorrow.
Supplies: Patterned Paper: BG: lemonade; acetate; glitter paper; Stamps: inkadinkadoo: sentiment; Ink: pallette: white; markers: copic; Die's: Sizzix: Dragon; Cuttlebug: embossing folders; Fiskars: apron lace; Other: fun flock; double sided adhesive sheet; adhesives gems; 3D foam;
Thanks for stopping by and your wonderful comments, HuGs Kim :)

From the Desk of Teach, Cuttlebug Challenge #46 using Card Patterns Sketch.

I have been trying to put this post on for the past two days, how does that happen? So, Dillon will be starting back at school on Thursday and thought I would go ahead and make something for his teacher's desk which follows the Cuttlebug challenge be inspired #46 very nicely, also I bought a couple of Lauren Meaders timeless templates and fully utilised them for this project...

I altered the from the desk of template slightly to accommodate larger A6 cards but went a slightly different route... The back section houses a note card holder the all boxed up template, also altered slightly to fit snugly into the back section. More details lower down this post.

Don't you just ADORE this new line of scrumptious papers from the fabulous Cosmo Cricket? Well I very quickly got my grubby hands on some 6x6 mini pads and set to work cutting into them as soon as they arrived. I then went ahead and covered this desk box in some of the fabulous patterns, the Kraft goes so well. I have coloured the flower and leaves with my copics inspired from the papers and aged ever so slightly with some of Tim's distress inks. The 'Teach' title I have die cut and coloured with distress inks too, they came out so well.

And what desk set wouldn't be complete without wooden ruler and pencils and some little biscuit snack munchies, housed in this adorable satchel bag...

So, I won this X large die when I won a sizzix comp and this was the perfect time to give it some use, I have embellished it with buckles and some ribbon, using some fab Cosmo Cricket papers from a while back.

This is the notecard holder using the all boxed up template, it houses eight handmade note cards and coordinating envelopes. The front clasp is secured using a magnetic snap, fabulous item! I've tried to replicate an old book with worn stitching, mmm with more great paper?

As the title mentions I very loosely used the Cards pattern Sketch #29 but I didn't get it published on my blog quick enough still a lovely sketch... half are hello and the rest say thanks. You know... those little notes home!

Well I think my list of supplies might be as long as the post itself LOL!

Not Just Magnolia....

So it's August and it's raining, which means I had a little time to just create... can't possibly get the washing dry in this weather. I wanted to make a card and couldn't decide on just one challenge, so I have combined quite a few...

Let me explain...

Just Magnolia # 16 - distressing
Cuttlebug #42 - Gate fold
Colour Create - Pink, Orange and Green
All combined using the fabulous sketch by Laura at 2S4Y

Phew quite a combo, I started with my gate fold for the cuttlebug challenge I think this is my first time entering I just haven't managed before. I decided to turn it on it's side and make an envelope card. I have die cut lots of hearts in the same base card and adhered to create faux embossing.
Following Laura's sketch the central strip across the middle I have embossed whitewash orange based core'dinations and sanded to bring the colour through. The edges have been distressed, using the same whitewash I have created scallop edging with apron lace punch and some faux stitching using ruler and pokey tool.
This is also my first entry for the Just Magnolia challenge and I went for a black and white photo effect and love it when they pick up one colour and enhance it on a B&W. So I have coloured the rose (it is pink IRL) and glittered and covered with my sakura clear, so that it wouldn't pick up the colour from my distress inks.
I have distressed and stamped on the inside the colours pink, orange and green which follows the challenge at colour create. Wow are you still following? Click on the pictures for close up but please forgive the terrible picture quality the daylight disappeared too quickly today.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: BG: sugared; Core'dinations: Whitewash; PM: textured card; Stamps: Magnoila: Tilda with Rose; Hero Arts: sentiment; Ink: Memento: Black; colourbox; Ranger: distress inks; copics; spica; Sakura: clear; Die's: Nestabilities: ovals; label1; Sizzix: flourish(hearts); Cutb'g: Embossing folder; Fiskars: Apron Lace; Other: Tims ruler; piercing tool; blending applicator; edge distresser; 3D foam;
