'Mwah' with love...

Hello, hope you had a fun week so far and a beautiful Valentine's! I wanted to stop by with an easel card I made using some new additions found in Quixotic Paperie.

I bought the stunning My Mind's Eye - 6x6 Paper Pad - Stella & Rose - Mabel because I loved the woodgrain pattern and the fabulous colours are the inspiration for the colours I used to for the pretty Miss Anya from The Greeting Farm - Miss Anya Hats Off - Stamp Set. I used the sentiment from The Greeting Farm - Oliver & Amelia - Just For You Set. The Heart is an old sizzix die as are the die cut letters.

I am also entering this card for Club Anya & Friends Mystery Monday... this week they chose this sweet card from Pifa. I haven't entered anything to Cute Card Thursday for ages and their theme is Hearts and Flowers, And Crazy 4 Challenges C4C74 has Hearts for their challenge too.

Hope it inspires and if you notice Elaine is now stocking some gorgeous DIVINE TWINE in 10m Bundles yum yum. plus, pop by for the...

That's it from me today, have a lovely creative day!

Cute Card, Tilda Red and Green

Challenge 36, Red + Green
This week we would like you to use red and green on your card.

Well, I also treated myself to a couple of Tilda stamps and this card is the first time I've ever used magnolia's. This is Tilda with Whirling Snowflakes, so so pretty. I used watercolour and went with red and green which goes with the challenge over on Cute Card Thursday.
The Flocking was done on adhesive sheet which I die cut and adhered to paper, it's so difficult to photograph but I think the close up gives a good resemblance! Made my own ghost snowflake and embellished with stickles around the edges!

2 Scoop Wishes

I made this Birthday card to cover three challenges....

DCM: The Design Team have been busy working on this weeks dare ' It's all in the Shape' set by me. I'm a fan of shaped cards so thought this was a great one to do for my first dare. You can do any theme but your card has to be a shape of some sort.

and

PTW: Onto this weeks challenge, 'To die for!' is simply to use die cuts or punched shapes on your projects! So nice and easy - go grab your dies and lets see your creations!! lol
and
CCT: Challenge 12, This week we are asking you to use patterned paper on your card in honour of our fabulous blog candy donated by Andrea of Kaboodle Doodles. She is offering one lucky winner, chosen at random next week, some fabulous downloads. Pop on over to her website here and check out the gorgeous papers available to download!

Really enjoyed making this, using two of my favourite things, die cuts and patterned paper. I used my nestabitilies to cut the flower, 5 ovals in 2Scoops pp, large scallop circle in vellum, then the large circle in more 2Scoops pp. I placed the completed flower shape onto card trimmed around keeping a hinge on the right. Base card complete!

The butterfly I die cut from different pieces of 2Scoops pp, glitter card and vellum. The wishes are rub ons. I think I might add a little more glitter to the butterfly wings before I post it off!

Paper: BG 2 Scoops, PM vellum, DCWV glitter stack, 2tones banana split.
Die's: Sizzix build a butterfly, Nestabilities circles and ovals.
Other: PM rubons, 3d foam, glue pen!

Thanks for visiting and leaving your wonderful comments, it really cheers me up to read them! HuGs Kim x

Cute Card and a little Tutorial

I thought I would make a card with the sketch on Cute Card Thursday challenge 11 and show a little tutorial of my scalloped edges using my nestabilities.
I was asked how I got the scalloped edges on this card with my nestabilities....
Here goes, it's not very professional but I hope you get the idea and if you have any questions be sure to ask!

I'm using vellum, first I have trimmed to width I need, now I'm scoring to where the scallop will be see next pic.

Next I lay this to the part of the scallop that cuts, I've used a tiny bit of masking tape to secure! Make sure it is shy of the end scallop! click pic to enlarge.

Next is the clever bit... Get yourself a small cutting pad I'm using sidekick cutting pads these are great for so many things and it means you can cut a little quicker and cover small areas!

You NEED to lay the cutting pad so that it stops before and doesn't cover the corner scallop under your paper, otherwise you won't get a straight edge!

See how the cut stops.

Next you need to move your half cut paper... placing the cut scallops in each scallop past the die and following the previous directions. If you are doing a very long piece then I would suggest turning your cutting Matt and only doing the two inches it allows!

Finished, I love the size of these scallops I can't find scissors that cut that large. Thanks for keeping up with me I hope it was clear enough for you!

Now attach scallop paper to card. Recently I have actually been buying stamps (a lot of stamps)... It's only in the last few months that I've really been getting into them! So you're sure to see a lot more stamped cards now! I like the image on this card but still not sure on the foam lettering. I used vellum to keep the pretty patterned paper!

Materials:
Paper: DCWV, PM cream vellum, pink from stash.
Die's:
Nestabilities squares and ovals, sizzix alphabet.
Stamps: Baby girl Bear,(while there I ordered super cute stamp sets from Pink Cat studio, the Billy stamps and Dress up Lily)
Ink: Black Staz On, whispers brush pens.
Other: grosgrain ribbon, stardust pen, Funky foam, 3D foam.

Thanks for stopping by this was a bit of long post I hope you enjoyed! HuGs Kim

Flower Garden

Challenge 8 on Cute Card Thursday is....

In the garden

This week, a nice easy theme, anything to do with gardens. Could be people gardening, having fun in the garden, a garden scene or perhaps some little animals you might find in the garden.
Make it cute and have loads of fun!

I realise haven't done a post for a little while, just been busy so I thought I would upload a card I made a while ago that fits in with the challenge.

Lots of stamping for a change, I stamped the flowers on the base card, die cut the spotty grass and trees. Stamped the bird onto DP and raised then finished off with glitter markers.
Materials:
Paper: K&Co playful
Die's: Sizzix abstract, cuttlekids trees, circle
Stamps: Imaginisce Clear Stamps, bird, flowers, sizzix flower.
Ink: Black staz on, American glitter markers.
Thanks for stopping by, I will soon have more to upload, just catching up on the crafting time! HuGs Kim

Catch up & Competition reminder.

As you know I'm just a little busy at the moment, and I'm dying to get into my crafty stash and produce some cards. Before Maoleidigh arrived I had made a few cards so thought I would share them with you.

This was based on the Saturday sketch on Lauren's blog and I used the people for the image to go with the cute Thursday challenge to use people.
This was a great sketch, I know the idea was to use plain paper but I love this pattern and used plains to coordinate with it.

Thanks for stopping by and just a reminder that my blog candy competition closes tonight at midnight and I will announce the winner tomorrow. So you can still keep them coming look forward to seeing them. HuGs Kim x

Baptism Card and Album.

I created this card for the cute Thursday challenge, because I forgot to include the previous card with rabbit as an entry, so I'm way to late to be included for the candy....

Challenge 2
All Creatures Great and Small!
This week we would like to see creatures on your cards, they can be animals, birds, fish even dinosaurs or dragons. Absolutely any creature imaginable!

I based the card on sketch #7 Nicole's sketch, I mirrored the sketch.

This is a baptism card, I had always wanted to try the glitter effect on acetate. I stamped the cross with stazon then glued and glittered each colour. It's very impressive in Real life. To attach the acetate I used an eyelet in the centre so the corners are loose. Love this lamb, I die cut the lamb and inked all the edges.

I used my embossing folder for the paper behind the image. I would have inked the edges but forgot but I managed to ink the letters.

Then I made an album to create a set. The cover is made with grey board that I covered with patterned paper & the heart was die cut and I used acetate to keep the floating effect it's like a window. I embellished with Name and metal charm. Tied with ribbon. The year is done with rub ons.
