Christmas is coming...

Thanks for joining me...

Here's a card I created for the current paperbabe stamps anything goes challenge...

I created a one layer mixed media Christmas card.

I began with the background first, using tattered rose and iced spruce distress inks, then stamped reindeer fusions deer words along with the Peaceful Flurries flakes. Heat embossed a few snowflakes in white embossing powder and Stamped the reindeer in ecoline water brushes and spritz to get a soft inky bleed.

Then I added the Sparkle Bright sentiment heat embossed on acetate.

May Your Days be Magic ♥

Hello everyone!!!
Hope you're keeping well and safe just one more week to go until a very unusual first lockdown Christmas day, lets hope your days are full of magic ♥...

I wanted to pop by to share a little mid challenge inspiration, there is still plenty of time to take part in our current Anything Goes challenge as we're running it until 8th Jan...

I had the idea to make some elves using the new face dies and stamps...
I created four (for now), I simply doodled a fun tall hat to accommodate a dl(slimline)size card, no straight lines, you could fold the patterned paper over to recreate this on a smaller sized card blank.
I had fun inking up the background with distress oxides, I blended weathered wood, into evergreen bough into speckled egg. I then stamped a subtle pattern with a couple of swirls and some speckles in the opposite blend of oxides(if that makes sense?)
The faces were simply coloured in with watercolour pen and a touch of glitter. The hats I finished off with some rediscovered filigree liquid which I am super impressed is still fluid and working in the texture department.
I have die cut a heart, and it turned upside down to give the impression of a collar. I finished the card with a mix of sentiments to complete the theme.

I also would love to enter into these wonderful challenges too...

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #107 ~ Picture Inspiration

Hello and welcome...
Today is one of those bitter sweet days, it's been 5 years since my mum became an angel and I still miss her greatly, she was my best friend and confidant. We worked together too before the launch of Paperbabe Stamps, I wish we could create together, I would love to see what she would make with my stamps and templates...
We have a picture inspiration challenge on the paperbabe stamps blog today... So any opportunity to create more christmas cards and these are as simple as can be really...
I used my stamping platform to create a stepped method so all the stamps I need are on the one plate. I have to turn the piece of card for each step, mask then turn for the next image and I continue until they're all done.
I followed this process to make a final mask so that I could get some ink blended onto the background. The whole card I used only two inks, rusty hinge and ground espresso distress oxides.
I've added a little string, paper die cut foliage to bring the picture inspiration into play, to complete the look and add a little interest. I made four but the stamps are still clinging in place on the platform so I could knock out quite a few more, we'll see how the days goes.

Enjoy a wonderfully creative weekend and give your mum's a hug and a kiss x

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #55 ~ Sketch

Good morning and welcome,
we have a new challenge on the Paperbabe Stamps blog today...
It's a sketch challenge and I thought I would make a start on some Christmas cards...
I started by applying a little gesso to the edges of some Kraft card, then stamped the polka dots using gold embossing powder. I added a ribbon of glitter washi, trimmed the end.
the snowflake substrate was first painted with gesso and the coordinating snowflake was stamped and heat embossed in white on vellum. The sentiment was built from the Sparkle Bright set.

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #41 ~ Sketch Challenge

Good Morning, wow September already...
Today we have a new sketch challenge over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog...
I used quite a few stamps on my christmas card,
I went for a fun colour combo for the snowflake background,
Then I just had to stamp my all time favourite deer and although the sentiment is a little lost I think it still kinda works... I might just need some bright pink embossing powder.
I finished off my card with a little hint of houndstooth and a little sparkle on the antlers not that the camera picks it up. It's nearly a one layer card, certainly flat enough.

I'm also combining my card with a few other challenges...
