Stampin' Chic - Emboss Resist Technique...

It's time for Stampin' Chic technique challenge... and one of my favourites too - Resist embossing...

Well I love this technique although it's a little hard to see, the shop front has been heat embossed with clear powder using green ink and heat set. I went straight over with 'direct to paper' using my white chalk ink, then buffed it slightly into the paper. The frame and sentiment underwent the same treatment and I used the maroon ink but it didn't quite match Clare's paper so I went over it with my whispers pen,

Products used: Stamps: Papermania (TM) CCSR retail therapy, Quickutz(TM) frame, Cardstock/paper: Papermania(TM) CCSR The Big One Stack, textured cardstock,
Ink: Colourbox Queues, Whispers(TM) Marker's,
Embellishments: Anita's(TM) ribbon, Doodlebug design inc (TM) brad,
Tools: scallop scissors, WRMK(TM) corner rounder,
Other: Heat it up(TM) embossing powder, Stick it! (TM) 3D foam pads.

It is also with great sadness, to announce that I am stepping down from the Stampin' Chic Design Team and as Clare so lovingly said I have been on this journey from the start which is a whole year this month... So BiG HuGs to the wonderful team and thank you, Kim :)
Hope you pop back tomorrow for my Basic Grey challenges and Club Anya Saturday Sketch :)

Stampin Chic - Christmas Be Chic

Good morning, well it's time for the Stampin Chic's fortnightly challenge! today's 'Be Chic' has a Christmas theme to help with your holiday extras! Pop over and see the other Team's gorgeous creations, I hope you get time to enter...

Using Clare's wonderful bag template I thought I would make some cute little name place cards. I have decorated them with some of Clare's papers and stamped some christmassy images directly onto the patterned papers. I have hand written the names on to be quick and if it's any easier I simply wrote roughly in pencil first to get the placement before committing in pen.

White with a SPLASH of Colour

Thought you might like to see my dt project I have done for Stampin Chic's fortnightly challenge! Pop over and see the other Team's gorgeous creations, I hope you get time to enter...

Fabulous colour challenge I had lots of fun and thought I would have a go at Clare's wonderful new templates. The bag card I have used the template on the top part only so I could get a longer card. The gift bag is super cute and love that it has wider sides. I traced around the edge of one of the notelets to get the shape for the insert.

Stampin Chic - Be Chic Challenge

Phew.... I am slowly recovering from a major cold so forgive my lack of blogging, we seem to just suddenly catch the bugs going round... it is of course the first term of school and we nearly escaped it LOL!

That said thought you might like to see my dt project I have done for Stampin Chic's fortnightly challenge which is Be Chic! Pop over and see the other Team's gorgeous creations and there's still loads of time to enter...

So I have wanted to make Nicole's bird box for ages now and thought these Christmas papers would be so cute for it. The front has been decorated with CCSR range sentiment stamps and some papermania Christmas ones too. I even found a little forever friends robin sticker too!
Lots of tags I know... but you'd probably use them all... each one has been stamped and most have been heat embossed. On the back I have used CCSR gift stamps to complement the to: from: I have cut each one out and punched a hole to allow the string to go through!
They DO all fit in the box they just bow the roof ever so slightly LOL, it's all the strings really and once the tags are all used the ribbon loop on the roof will allow for it to adorn the tree.
Dillon has already claimed this one I think he has put his little toy Sam from transformers inside LOL!

Products used: Stamps: Papermania(TM) christmas, Papermania(TM) CCSR Sentiments and stamping chic - party, Cardstock and Paper: Papermania(TM) textured card, WRMK (TM) white out - christmas, Colour: Vivid (TM) black, Colourbox (TM) greens, reds, Heat it up (TM) moss green, seafoam white, clear EP, Embellishments: Papermania(TM) flower, WRMK (TM) chomper, big bite, Doodlebug (TM) ribbon, glitter brads, natural thread.
Thanks for stopping by, I'm hoping to blog some more tomorrow, HuGs Kim :)

Glitter.. do you love it or hate it? Well, we would like you to use glitter in your project this time. As usual, in order to enter the challenge we would like you to use at least one CCSR product, be it stamps or papers, and this week it's just for fun.
Just have a look at the fantastic ideas that the Design team have come up with this week. They are sure to inspire you and whet your appetite for the sparkly stuff!

Stampin chic ~ Be Chic

Good morning hope you all had a wonderful weekend, thought I would share my DT project I made for Stampin Chic Challenge this fortnight....

This was a fun little project, the wonderful bag template is free from here. Thank you Mel.
To finish off this cute bag I have stamped the butterfly using white ep on vellum and cut out. The tag is one I have had for an absolute age I simply stamped a little sentiment on, attached with ribbon and glitter brad. I used a quickutz alphabet to create the txt sentiments on the 6 mini note cards and used 3d foam with white card behind. I have embellished with a little ribbon and some vellum butterflies and I just had to make the coordinating envelopes of course. Click on images for close look!

Products: Stamps: Papermania(TM) CCSR Sentiments and Doodles, Jesse Edwards stamp,Cardstock and Paper: Papermania (TM) CCSR the Big One, textured cardstock, vellum,Colour: Colourbox (TM) white, Heat it up, white EP, Embellishments: Anita's ribbon, Papermania (TM) shimmer dots, metal rimmed tag, Doodlebug(TM) glitter Brad, quickutz (TM) alphabet, daisy punch

So we are hoping that you are now ready to take on this challenge and to Be Chic with CCSR! Remember there is a prize up for grabs for one lucky person as chosen by Mr Random!!!

CCSR - Colour Blocking Challenge

The challenge this fortnight over at Stampin Chic Blog is colour blocking....

According to a few websites Colour Blocking is a new trend hitting the catwalks!
Pippa Jameson Interiors shows some great examples of bright colour blocking in fashion and homeware, Colour blocking has also been used in the craft sector and an article at ScrapJazz shows some examples of it used it being used in scrapbooking.
I wasn't too familiar with colour blocking and just went for blocks of patterned papers. Although cardstock is a staple of color blocking, you can use subtly patterned paper if you’re feeling creative. I have sanded the ripped edges to give distressing effect. I have made the butterfly from shrink plastic which I've coloured the back with peel off pens. Just LOVE these PM studded stickers. Click on images to enlarge.

Products used: Papers: CCSR: the Big One; PM: Jesse Edwards collection; Textured Card; core'dinations: whitewash; Stamps: CCSR: Doodles; sentiments; Ink: Vivid: Black; Colourbox: white; Peel off pens; Other: PM: Studded stickers; Adhesive stones; button; Doodlebug: ribbon; 3d foam; Quickutz: alphabet; Anita's 3D gloss; Shrink plastic;
Hope you are all well and have a chance at colour blocking, HuGs Kim x

This One was nearly missed...

I was so sure I had scheduled this with another to post last week and it seems I have typed the dates wrong, as you do... so better late then never...

This is what I created for the Be Chic challenge this fortnight over at Stampin Chic

I have reused an old travel sweets tin and decorated and embellished it to create this circular album in a box.. The template for the birdcage can be found here they have the most fantastic templates on this site and myself and Dillon have spent many an afternoon creating together, in fact he is quite the craftsman, bless him.
The birdcage can flatten but I decided to have it as a solid figure. The bird I have stamped on to with one of Claire's doodle stamps. The box has been decorated with CCSR papers and I have finished off the edges with permanent pen. I thought this could make a wonderful gift.

Products used: Papers: PM Textured Card; CCSR: the Big One; Stamps: CCSR: Doodles, Ink: Vivid - Black; Other: PM - shimmer dots; flowers; felt ribbon; button; large brads; sailor 2way glue; 3d foam; Big Bite; Old sweet tin;
Thanks for stopping by and there's still more to upload, so until later, Y HuGs Kim :)
