Club Anya Mystery Monday and 2Skeches4You

OK so it's pretty late at night for me to put a post on, but thought I should quickly recover from the ICS finale card with a challenge combo....

This card covers the
Club Anya mystery Monday challenge... I heart Punches (which I have already uploaded it to my gallery) and Kazan's fabulous sketch over at 2Sketches4You.

See lots of punching? well... the corners, the frill across the centre, the mount that pretty Anya is against and the little diddy butterflies. You may recognise a version of this rose for an earlier post. I thought I would try the same technique with double sided papers. Not quite as flexible as the grungepaper but still pretty and I love the dimension. It's as always impossible to capture the subtle glitter of the spica marker, I have coloured her lovely flowers and the strips on her socks. Click images to enlarge and you might just see it.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Cosmo Cricket; Stamps: TGF: Miss Anya Collection; American Crafts: Thanks; Studio 490: Dimensional Rose Art; Ink: memento: black; copic & spica markers; Die's: Nestabilities: labels1; Sizzix: leaves; Punches: MS: doily lace; EK: edge thingy(sorry); Butterfly; Corner Chomper; Other: Doodlebug: ribbon; adhesives gems; 3D foam;

BiG HuGs ♥ enjoy your evening/night/day I will have my CCSR DT card to show you tomorrow, Kim x

2Sketches4You #33, Daring Card Makers, TGF Cake Topper Wedding

I haven't managed to do one of the Daring cardmakers dares for sometime now, so for this I have combined the wedding theme and last weeks dare of lace and thought I would use it with Kazan's wonderful sketch this week over at 2Sketches4You.

The wedding couple I have coloured with my copic markers and cut out, I have gone over the dress with my spica glitter marker it's so pretty. The patterned paper I have sanded the edges and inked with Tim Holtz Distress inks to give an aged look. The edge of the vellum has been punched with my MS hearts and I have embossed with victoria cuttlebug folder and adhered to the card under the lace. Click Images for a close look.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: K&Co: Blue Awning; PM: textured card; vellum; glitter paper; Stamps: TGF: Cake Topper; Ink: Memento: Black; Tim Holtz Distress inks; copic markers; Spica glitter; Die's: Nestabilities: ovals; Sizzix: Leaves; flower & frame set; Cutb'g: Butterfly; embossing folder; Other: Paper roses; Adhesive pearls; Lace; 3D foam;

Not Just Magnolia....

So it's August and it's raining, which means I had a little time to just create... can't possibly get the washing dry in this weather. I wanted to make a card and couldn't decide on just one challenge, so I have combined quite a few...

Let me explain...

Just Magnolia # 16 - distressing
Cuttlebug #42 - Gate fold
Colour Create - Pink, Orange and Green
All combined using the fabulous sketch by Laura at 2S4Y

Phew quite a combo, I started with my gate fold for the cuttlebug challenge I think this is my first time entering I just haven't managed before. I decided to turn it on it's side and make an envelope card. I have die cut lots of hearts in the same base card and adhered to create faux embossing.
Following Laura's sketch the central strip across the middle I have embossed whitewash orange based core'dinations and sanded to bring the colour through. The edges have been distressed, using the same whitewash I have created scallop edging with apron lace punch and some faux stitching using ruler and pokey tool.
This is also my first entry for the Just Magnolia challenge and I went for a black and white photo effect and love it when they pick up one colour and enhance it on a B&W. So I have coloured the rose (it is pink IRL) and glittered and covered with my sakura clear, so that it wouldn't pick up the colour from my distress inks.
I have distressed and stamped on the inside the colours pink, orange and green which follows the challenge at colour create. Wow are you still following? Click on the pictures for close up but please forgive the terrible picture quality the daylight disappeared too quickly today.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: BG: sugared; Core'dinations: Whitewash; PM: textured card; Stamps: Magnoila: Tilda with Rose; Hero Arts: sentiment; Ink: Memento: Black; colourbox; Ranger: distress inks; copics; spica; Sakura: clear; Die's: Nestabilities: ovals; label1; Sizzix: flourish(hearts); Cutb'g: Embossing folder; Fiskars: Apron Lace; Other: Tims ruler; piercing tool; blending applicator; edge distresser; 3D foam;

Wow!!! so much to Share and ICS #21

Where do I begin?...... Firstly I feel so honoured that Kazan and Laura at 2 Sketches 4 You picked my card for the card of the week I can't quite believe it, and am over the moon!!!

Now technology is out to get me this month... first my telephone line down, which meant two weeks without Internet access and now I am having some trouble with my hotmail account and I am appealing to you all here to say I'm very sorry if you've received some unusual emails from me, it appears that my contacts list has been violated and Hotmail abuse team have currently ceased my account until the problem is solved. I hope this hasn't effected anyone and I can only hope they will sort it soon. Seems nothings really very safe but you're all very welcome to contact me at kimpaperbabe@yahoo.com and if anyone has sent me an email to my hotmail address since last week I'm afraid I am unable to read or reply to you, very sorry.

So onto my DT card this week for Inspirational Card Sketches....

Another fantastic sketch by the talented Dawn to challenge the mojo, well I was very inspired by Leandra's feature in this months Craft Stamper and just had to give it a go.

The sheet metal I have is self adhesive and so the embossing isn't as detailed as I would have liked. I had to de-tack the adhesive side with my stamp buddy. I'm pleased with the result and really enjoyed it. I have embellished mine with a vintage RubOn, how adorable are these two little ones? So thought the message went well LOL! Used October afternoon's fabulous papers again as wanted it quite fun and bright.

click images to enlarge,
Supplies: Patterned Paper: October Afternoon: Ducks in a Row; Stamps: Squiggly Ink: crowns and Castles; Ink: Archival: Black; colourbox; Tim Holtz: acrylic dabbers; Die's: Nestabilities: Ovals; Fiskars: Apron Lace; Cutb'g: Embossing folder; Other: Vintage RubOns; adhesive sheet metal; Prima Flowers; adhesive bling; BG: button; 3D foam;

Thanks as always for taking the time to visit my blog and my blog candy is still open so all are welcome to have a go, Good luck! Happy HuGs Kim x

I couldn't resist these super cute October afternoon papers and stamps how adorable is that Duck and the butterfly too! I hope the little five year old will enjoy this card as much as I made it, LOL! A few details to share is how easy it was to colour the glitter paper to co-ordinate with the images using my copic marker. The images have been stamped, coloured and all hand cut. The girl's initial has been cut from fun foam, and embellished with a touch of bling.

Lots of stamping with this card... the damask I have stamped and cut out, the sentiment I have stamped and cut out and the gingham is stamped and I have run my thread tracer to create stitching and roughed the edge slightly. It definitely needed the bling and it's so hard to stop I could very easily continued...LOL! Please click on the close ups to enlarge!

2Sketches4You - Sketch #19

Well I don't know where the time has gone this week, seriously I think I started about twelve different cards and only finished a few. Here's one I have finished using the fabulous sketch #19 over at 2Sketches4you by the very talented Laura, thank you!

I've had my eye on this bird die for a long time and it arrived the other day, I have simply cut it from some BG dp and inked the edges! The frame that the bird is sitting on is a BG stamp that I have used with two inks and trimmed around. How nice is it that one of my little oval nesties fit's into cut the shape perfectly! It's been finished off with a gem brad! The leaf is die cut trimmed and stamped with sentiment. The main background has been inked with distress inks and then embossed.

Materials:
Paper: Basic Grey - offbeat, heavy weight cartridge,
Stamps: Basic grey - Bug/B2 Bitsy, PTI - Mixed Messages,
Die's: Nestabilities - ovals, rectangle, Sizzix - Bird with flower, leaves,
Ink: Distress inks, colourbox Q's - mix,
Other: Lace from stash, embossing folder, PM gem brad, 3D foam,
And to show you my eye candy for valentine's woo hoo

My fiance and son,

Thanks for stopping by, will catch up with you over the weekend, HuGs Kim x

2Sketches4you and DCM Hearts

The Dare over at DCM this week is to include hearts so I've made lots of hearts not to dissimilar to the border sticker included in the Basic Grey Bittersweet collection. I have used the fabulous sketch #18 over at 2Sketches4you by the very talented Laura, thank you!

This stamp it just too cute and who could possibly resist inking it up as soon as it comes through your letterbox? I have paper pieced the image using bittersweet papers and copic markers to colour the rest! She has been raised on 3d foam and embellished with Sakura Stardust and stickles. You should be able to see the sparkle in one of the close ups!

The border of hearts is die cut from different patterned paper inked around edges and raised on 3d foam. The background paper has lots of hearts over and the stamp sticker in the corner has a heart flower (think that covers the heart theme!) The sentiment is die cut. I have been playing with my camera the weather just makes photos really poor! Click on pictures for a close up!

Materials:
Paper: Basic Grey - Bittersweet, heavy weight cartridge,
Stamps: The Greeting Farm -
Angel Anya,
Die's: Nestabilities - Circle's, Sizzix - Hearts, Endless love alphabet,
Ink: Distress inks, sakura - stardust, stickles, copic sketch markers,
Other: Basic Grey bittersweet stickers, Adhesive gems and Bling, 3D foam,
Thanks for stopping by, will catch up with you over the weekend, HuGs Kim x
