Senior Prom - Scrappy Saturday

Awww I am in love with this photo of Annie and Emily at their Senior Prom.

I had a lot of fun using gold and white things in my stash here.  I did go a little nuts and make it a tad to 3D with those flowers I've had in my stash forever.  But I love it so I'm going to make it work in the page protector.

Things are still a bit rough here but we are getting thru it day by day.  Thank you for stopping in, hugs.

1st Day 7th grade - Scrappy Saturday

Here is the day Emily really came into her own.  She went to 7th grade and took charge of everything.  She looks so excited in the pictures it makes my heart warm to see them again. She's 20 now which is so hard to believe.  I had a great time scrapping these and taking a walk down memory lane.

Still diving deep into my older photos and stash.  Trying so hard to use up my old Studio Calico kits.  This is pretty much all Studio Calico.  Just a couple things here and there out of the stash and the title is some Tim Holtz letters I got from Tuesday Morning.

Prom Hair - Scrappy Saturday

More Junior Prom pictures.   These were after we got Em's hair done.  Correy's mom gave her the headband to put into her hair which was gorgeous.

Loved the clear and ivory flowers from Heidi Swapp and those glitter letters I got at Tuesday Morning.  The letters were however a pain as I had to sand the edges forever to get them cleaned up.  I do like how it turned out all the prom pictures when I finish them will look great in her book.

Thanks for stopping by today hope everyone is doing well.

Prom Flowers - Scrappy Saturday

I love that when Emily and Correy went to Junior Prom they created their own flowers for the occasion. He made hers and she made his.  It was one of the sweetest things.  I took lots of pictures of them creating clearly they were thrilled by my invasion of their creative time.

For this layout I used some Studio Calico flower paper and an  pink paper from a pad along with some Basic Grey vellum flowers and paper flowers and pearls from my stash.  The letters are Simple Stories(I think)  And some gold washi to outline it however it keeps popping up so we will see how long it lasts.

Just staying in and keeping warm during the winter months.  Hope all is well with everyone, thank you so much for stopping by.s

School Open House - Scrappy Saturday

Working thru some older photos this year and trying to use up old Rub Ons  as well.   This layout is fun since Emily and Annie were in the same classroom.

I did use some of my old(7+ years old) rub ons here and I threw out some packages that didn't work I feel like that will happen often this year as I try to use them up.  I do have a pretty large collection of rub ons so the challenge will be to get that down to a tiny pile by the end of the year.

Here I also used older Heidi Swapp chipboard letters and hearts and some 7 gypsies fabric tape along with doodling and older papers.

Thank you for stopping by stay warm and inside!  SCRAP the weekends I encourage it!

First Day Of School

I can't believe how fast Summer Flew By!  Eeek!   We had a smooth day off to school the girls were very excited!  Hard to believe Abbi is in 5th Grad and Emily is in 8th.  Where does the time go?

Back To School Today......

Abbi's first day of 4th Grade.   She said she has butterflies!
Emily's first day of Middle School/7th Grade.  Taking the bus to school for the first time.  She's very excited she was up at 6.

Paper Cranes

A display of Paper Cranes in the girls school.  You can make one at school for a $1 donation to the Japan Tsunami Relief.  The girls love doing this during their lunch break.

School Open House

My Mom arrived yesterday and the Girls had their school open house last night.  They had a great time dragging Grandma all over the school.  Afterwards we all went out for a late dinner.

Abbi's Classroom.  Their focus has been the rain forrest.

Emily's DB Cooper model of him parachuting from a plane.  It's hung from the classroom ceiling.

Get your gear ready!

Off to school they go!  I tried really hard not to cry this morning when I took them to school.   I don't know why I get so choked up on the first day of school?  They were so excited they didn't even know I was there.  I have to go to work now and then it's off to pick up my Mom she'll be getting to her hotel around the time I get off work!  The girls can't wait to see her!   I can't wait to see her!  Ok so I'll probably be away from the blog with all the partying that will be going on around here this weekend.

I wish I had been more proactive about making gifties for the teachers for the first day this year?  I didn't have time so I've resurrected this photo from last year!  Gotta find time to do something nice for the teachers.

Back to School!

Well it's that time again!  We've been busy getting ready for school both here and in the shop.  The girls start school this Wednesday.  Meet the teacher is tomorrow and they are so excited they can't stand it.  Plus my Mom is coming on Wed. so they are even more excited than normal.  It's like a windfall for them.  I'm lucky I get 3 days off this week for my birthday and to spend time with my Mom.  She flies home on Saturday.

I love the lunch notes above I've added them to my shop.  Cute Cute Cute.  They could even be used as embellishments on a scrapbook page with perfect primary colors.

Getting Ready For School

From my Back To School Fun class coming up this Saturday!  We'll be making this and filling it with cute coordinating goodies!

Power came back up last night around 7:30ish!  Phew!  Thank goodness!

More getting ready for school got some new clothes for the girlies today.  We really only need a couple more things!  The girls are getting excited!

Valentine Party Day - Quick Post

Yippy!  The kids are thrilled!  Abbi is better we're done with all of their Valentines.   Made them from 3 sheets of Sassafrass paper and a bunch of cardstock.   Along with baggies and a stapler.    They are perfect for girls and boys that's what I love.  So the kids are off to school and I'm finishing up before the parties this afternoon.  I have to dip at least 40 chocolate covered strawberries and do a little Valentine shopping.   Then it's off to school to Limbo!   Hope everyone is having a great Friday!
Well the week is well underway. An entire week with the kids in school. What am I going to do? Upload to Etsy! HA Got lots of new things coming this week. Yesterday I added 2 new sets of Alice In Wonderland Tags. Today I'm going with JACK!

The kids seem to be happy with school. It's hard these first couple of weeks lots of rules lots of testing etc. And for them it's the height of allergy season so we're fighting that! But dance has begun. At the studio this week and at Willow next week. They are excited about that. Em took her first Ballet class in a really long time last night, she loved it. Speaking of dance Abbi had been invited to Audition for the Nutcracker at Prairie Center For the Arts. We got the call Sunday she didn't get in. It's all good, having to be out of school for some performances and rehearsals and running right at the holidays would have made me even crazier(no one needs that). We were excited to be asked though since it was her first ever Audition and it was by invite only.

What else. Oooh the cards above those I made to slip in the kids lunch boxes once in awhile to give them a little smile. The lace paper from KI with the apples is awesome. I printed the greetings on the computer and punched them out. I have 2 left so sometime this week I'll sneak them in. I also got sandwich cutters from William Sanoma over the weekend. And wouldn't you know it I totally forgot until after I had the lunches packed! Lesson Learned never make lunches BEFORE Coffee!

I'm ALLLL ALONE!

I'm in the house all alone. It's weird. I mean I have been over the summer for an hour here or there while the kids were at friends, but I was trying to get everything done in that hour I didn't even notice. It's just strange! Today I have a ton of errands after my hair appt.(which I could make at a real salon on a weekday very exciting). I've just never been alone for this length of time in the last 9 years. It's sooooooo quiet!

So they got off to school great well except for the rain. No cool outdoor first day of school photos, bummer. Emily was a trooper offering to help get her sister to her locker and show her what to do. She's really good at being the mom when I'm not around. Abbi seemed a little nervous but a little excited. My future son-in-law is in her class though so that's exciting they were separated last year. I was helping his mom with the Spirit Wear Table yesterday and when he and his mom went to meet the teacher he yelled back to Abbi "I Love You Abbi". It was the cutest thing ever. I laughed, I'm bad, I couldn't help it. She finally covered my mouth up and told me to STOP IT!!!! Emily's teacher seems amazing I met with her after all of the chaos and it seems like the 4th grade team is really excited about this year. Abbi's teacher, I didn't really get a chance to talk to it was crazy in the 1st/2nd grade rooms due to the change but I'm sure we will get to know her. And I might add it took me awhile to figure out where she was in the classroom. She's very tiny and when surrounded by parents you can't see her! I have heard wonderful things about both teachers so I'm looking forward to a great year this year for both girls! So this was the little start of school giftie I made for the teachers. They are filled with Kisses because I'm sure after this week they will all need some chocolate to get by! I found the pattern and instructions for this over at Splitcoast Stampers. The stamp is A Muse and The paper is BoBunny(doubledots) and Stampin Up. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day. I'm off to get my hair cut!

Meet the Deputy Mayor Katy Washington

In School recently Emily's class has been building a community for Social Studies. She's married has 2 kids is a veterinarian and her name is Katy Washington. At the end of this project the kids were given the opportunity to run for Mayor of Evergreen Falls(not sure this is right I keep getting it wrong???). After collection 50 signatures on a petition to be eligible to run they had a Mayoral election. She created a platform vowing to expand the park, bring more food stores to town and plant a tree for every citizen which she presented in a speech. After the first round there was a 3-way tie so there had to be a run-off. Emily and 2 of the boys from her class. She ultimately tied for second and shares the Deputy Mayor position with Trent. It was a whirlwind week while all this was going on. You can see some of her things she created for the election. Her Poster was cool! I found this holographic sticker paper in Silver and also blue at Hobby Lobby and we ran it through the Big Shot with the Star die cut.
More of the sticker paper and some Nestabilities helped make these campaign buttons totally cool. Then we printed out Vote for Katy Washington on return address labels and wrapped them around Hershey Nuggets and those got handed out as well.
All in all her campaign was a complete success. She did really well coming in, in the top 3 and becoming Deputy Mayor! Next week we get to go to Mission control and she has a role in simulating a shuttle mission!
Have a wonderful day and try try to stay dry!
