Never Desert You.... - Hero Monthly December Kit

Got a chance to sit down and play with my December Hero Kit with some watercolor paper and paints. I love how the night sky turned out with the gold embossed moon and stars on it.  So Very Pretty.

Tropical Card Series - Pineapples and more Pineapples

Had so much fun using my Distress Oxide and Distress Ink to make the pretty background for this card.  The stamped greeting is from MFT Clear Stamps Written in Watercolor it is stamped in Versamark and embossed in black.  The Pineapple comes from Silhouette and is cut out of Mirracard Gold.  I've added some mini sequins in various pinks as well.

I love how the watercolor turned out I just need to work on the warping.
Here we have the same Pineapple as above and a greeting from Hero Arts.  The patterned paper is Echo Park A Perfect Summer.  I've used one of my Daniel Smith watercolors in  yellow for the drops on the white.
Those pink stripes are from some scraps sitting out on my desk.  It definitely needed more color!  Especially with the Kraft card base.

I hope everyone is enjoying their Summer now that we are right in the middle.  My kids are busy with their summer activities but starting to look forward to school again!  Have a wonderful day!  Thank you for stopping by.

Shoot For The Stars - Stars and Stripes Card Series

Good Morning.   I have been working on getting this series started since Monday.  But you know how you get into that cycle of being tired and not having enough time to get everything done in a day. Then can't fall asleep at night thinking about all of the things you haven't completed, which just adds to the vicious cycle of not getting enough things done while being exhausted all day.  That's about how it was coming out of May and recovering from my Spring cold.  Now we are all back to our regular selves I hope to get back on track.

This series will be a somewhat Patriotic one to there will be 5 cards with Stars and Stripes hopefully they will jump start you to make your own Patriotic Inspired card for upcoming events in your life or maybe you will find a technique you just have to try or revisit.

Today's card uses a clear stamp set from My Favorite Things Stamps.  I've heat embossed the greeting in Gold and stamped the stars all around in shades of red and blue.  Everything is layered onto blue cardstock and a red card.  I have of course used a ton of Stickles on the stars and some striped ribbon to add the stripe part of our series!

Hope you enjoy it and your having a wonderful start to your Summer.  Thank you so much for stopping by to see me today!

I Thank My Lucky Stars For You - 19 years - Navy and Gold Series

Today is the Mr. and I's 19th Wedding Anniversary!  It's hard to believe it seems like yesterday we got married.  I Thank My Lucky Stars every single day!
For this card I heat embossed gold Stars on Navy and used some more of my amazing printed cardstock from Club Scrap that I have been hoarding for about 15 years.  The stamped phrase is from Lawn Fawn stamps.

We will celebrate in style maybe in the back yard at our new outdoor dining table with some grilled steaks?  Woo Hoo!  Weather please be kind...

Thank you so much for stopping by today I Thank My Lucky Stars for your friendship as well!

Hello Summer - Navy and Gold Series

I had some fun last week creating this card. I heat embossed the gold dot background(an old Stampin Up Stamp) onto Kraft cardstock and die cut it with a dotted rectangle die from Memory Box.  Once that was done I layered it onto a piece of gold mirrorcard with foam tape.  The Octopus again from Memory Box is also foam taped up over the navy ribbon.  I was excited to use one of my new Anna Griffin dies for the Hello.
Originally the octopus had only one rhinestone eye but the MR. said that didn't look right.  I was thinking he was a profile octopus but I guess not two eyes are better than one for sure even more so when they are rhinestones.

Hopefully your enjoying the color series.  I am excited to do this there are 2 more cards coming up one on Thursday and one next early next week.  Thank you again for stopping by!

For A New Heaven Sent Puppy

Good Afternoon.  It's a cold snowy day here so I've been at it some more creating some cards.  I was so excited to use this new stamp set I got last week from MFT - Top Dog.  Mostly because of all the little long dogs as you can see, they are stamped and cut out of patterned paper.  I also ordered the paw print background which I've stamped in Versamark and embossed in Clear all over the background.    The greeting is a combo because I wanted it to represent a new Puppy in the family.  The Heaven Sent is from Mama Elephant - Starry Night the Puppy Dog Kisses is from the MFT - Top Dog set, I just cut apart a longer greeting.  I'm pretty happy how it turned out kinda like I saw in my mind.  I did add a bit of glitter on each puppy but it really doesn't show in the pictures it's so tiny.
This card is for a few challenges first the MFT Sketch Challenge #262:

Then the Color Throwdown - CTD #374 -

Lastly the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Something New

Thank you so much for stopping by again today, I know 2 posts, but it's fun right?  Have a Happy Day filled with Puppy Dog Kisses.  Stay Warm!

Bold Watercolor Birthday

Good Morning!  We've had unseasonably warm weather lately.  Like 60 degrees warm in December.  But in Chicago that doesn't mean warm sunshiney weather.  nooooooooooooooooo....  That generally means Wind(lots of wind) and rain and wait a second.... is that the sun?  5min later storm clouds....  Well you get it if you wait a minute the weather will change.

It's had me thinking of sunshine a flowers though and so today I have for you a fun card and break from Christmas.  I actually made this back in October for a friends birthday card.
I've used Brusho's for the background and for the flowers which I embossed with white and cut out.  The stamp set is WPlus9.  I stamped the stems in dark green then popped the flowers up on them.  The Happy Birthday is a die cut by Cheery Lynn.  I've cut them out of white and added glossy accents to them.  They also look embossed onto the front of the card. The finished card is actually and A7 card a new size for me to work in but more space.  Love Love how this one turned out the bright colors just make you happy!

Ok so now after all that flowery fun I'm off to wrap Christmas presents and start my Holiday Baking!  Can't wait to fill the house with Chrsitmasy smells!

Have a Wonderful day thank you so much for stopping by!

Merry and Bright Sled

Good November Morning!  It's finally ok to start preparing for Christmas!  I'm so excited this is my favorite time.  I love creating Holiday cards and projects!  I'm over on the Memory Box Blog Today where I have a fun water colored piece with the Large Winter Sled layered over and the Merry and Bright stamped in gold.   There is a bit of gold thread added to the sled as a pull.  I just used my 1/16" hole punch to thread it through.

The watercolor background is done on a die cut piece of water color paper using the Pinpoint Square Layers.  The watercolor red is Brusho and the green dots are from a tube of water color they match the Memory Box patterned papers used here.

The card itself is a 5" square card which I haven't tried in awhile but I do love how the square cards turn out.

Hope your having a Wonderful Week!  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Be sure to check out the NEW November Memory Box Challenge #6 Glitter here

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Fathers Day to all the Dad's out there today but especially to my wonderful Husband Dave!  He truly is the BEST!
I made this card for him for today!
Uses lots of Wendy Vecchi stamps as well as stencils and a Tim Holtz stencil with Archival and Distress Inks as well as some of Wendy's embossing powder on the hearts.  The greeting is cut using the Silhouette and the patterned paper is October Afternoon.  I am entering this in the Make ART Challenge for June as well as A Vintage Journey - Celebrations Challenge, My Sheri Crafts Challenge #1894CC #251 Fathers DaySimply Create Too Challenge #88, Creative Moments Challenge #70, Mod Squad Happy Fathers Day, Cardz 4 Guyz Challenge #75 , Scrap-Creations- Going Grey Fathers Day and Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #24.

Hope everyone has a GREAT Fathers Day!

Silvery Snowflakes

We are continuing on our week of the Memory Box/Imagine Crafts Blitz.  I'm over on the Memory Box Blog today sharing a Silvery Snowy Card with you.

I love using the stencils for perfect backgrounds.  Who needs patterned paper when we have all of these amazing stencils and so many techniques and amazing products to create fun affects.

First I've created a snowy background using the Winter - Snowflake Lace Stencil 88576 and some black paper.  I sponged Memento Luxe Wedding Dress over the stencil then sprinkled on Imagine Crafts Sparkle Embossing Powder.
The entire piece was heat set.   And OH MY does it sparkle.  It is very hard to convey in a photo.
Next on another sheet of black I stamped the Forest Pine G2016 stamp in Delicata Sivlery Shimmer Ink and added Imagine Crafts Silver Embossing Powder.
The entire piece was cut down to size and lastly I used the Sheer Shimmer Spritzer in Frost to add dots by taking the pump out of the bottle and dropping the dots one by one from the tube.  Once these dried they SHIMMER and SHINE so much!
The card base is a Dove Gray Card and to set the tree off I used a mat of Silver Mirror Cardstock.
I hope you like it! The Silvery Glittery Mix makes me whistful for the sparkle of the first snowfall.  Which apparently is a possibility for Halloween night here.

Gathered Blooms Thanks

Today I'm over on the Memory Box Blog with a pretty purple card.  I used a favorite new stamp of ours Gathered Blooms G2021 which I stamped and embossed in gold over a watercolor background created with Peerless Watercolors.  Once it was complete I tore around the image and added A Little Thanks 98575 in gold.  I added the finished piece to a violet card base with some turquoise seem binding.   The color scheme makes me Happy I hope it makes you Happy too!

Lotus Garden - Muse Monday

Today I have a project on the Bombshell Blog for Muse Monday.  The stamp set this month is Lotus Garden.  I love the Koi in this set they are so much fun to use.  I've been working with Alcohol inks lately and I love the affect of water with just some blues and lavenders and just a smidgen of pearl.  I heat embossed the fish in silver on top of the background.  The greeting is an embossing folder.  I covered some cardstock with my silver tape and embossed it so fun.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  Hope you have a great day.

Bombshell Muse Monday

It's Muse Monday time over on the Bombshell Blog.  This month we are featuring the Speed Shop Stamp Set.  This is the perfect masculine stamp set.  It colors wonderfully with the Copic markers like I did here and then cut it out.  I created a background with a Tim Holtz stencil Dot Fade and Ranger Ink Watering Can.   I then used an embossing folder Darice Diamond Plate Pattern and heat embossed the raised embossing with clear embossing powder.  After that I added some Snow Cone and Squid Ink Gelatos creating the garage floor affect.

Hope you have a great Holiday Week coming up!

Bombshell Blog Hop May - Banners

Welcome to the May Humpday Blog Hop for Bombshell Stamps! This months theme was Banners.  I guess I played a little fast and loose with this theme.  But the Lantern Die from Memory Box went so well with the Koi Tattoo stamps.  I  love how it turned out!  Thanks for stopping by my Blog and be sure to check out all of the other amazingly talented artists that are playing along on the hop!

Koi Tattoo - Love this stamp!

I'm having fun experimenting with my new Koi Tattoo Stamp set from Bombshell Stamps.  Here I embossed it in gold on a handmade mulberry paper which I tore out around the fish.  I added some gold flowers and added them to a background on pearl made with some alcohol ink.  I added Paper Cord as an embellishment behind the fish.

Hope everyone is having a great day thanks for stopping by.

Fab 5 Bee Mine Day 2 Card

A cute quick card made with the new Memory Box Bee Die, some LawnFawn words and an Embossing Folder by Tim Holtz.

As you can see I did not get a picture of my word desk today.  With work and everything else I got a little side tracked.  I did however make 12 little take out boxes so far for next weeks swap!  I will share a picture of those soon.  They are so tiny I love them.  I even found candy to put in them  WOOT!

Ok have a great rest of your Wednesday.  I'll be back tomorrow with another card.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

A Lawn Fawn Challenge

These cards are for the Lawn  Fawn Challenge to use Sunny Skies stamp set and card stock only no patterned paper.  I had a lot of fun creating them.

I used this super cool dental floss Paula(SIL) gave me to pull the twine through a small hole made on either side of the sheathe see below.  I then tied a bow.

Lastly I added some foam tape and mounted the wheat sheathe onto the card.

Sorry for forgetting the Canvas Corp twine in the supply picture.

We had scrapping last night at Dianne's.  It was a very pleasant evening and I got some tags done for the C.A.R.S. swap tomorrow.  On my way home I was alarmed to see Christmas lights on a house.  I'm not done with my fall/Thanksgiving cards and I'm seeing Christmas lights, UGH.

Ok so tomorrow is the end of the series which was kind of fun.  I will start showing peaks of upcoming classes after that.   I want to get some done before the Craft Fancy Holiday Make & Take event this Saturday.
