Delightful Daisy Cards

Happy Weekend.  I've been trying to get back into my craft room every week creating something new.  This week I was inspired by the Lawn Fawnatics color challenge and a few Lawn Fawn dies and stamps to create these slimline cards  I used Delightful Daisy as my main focal point, and the Happy Birthday, Hello and Thank You Borders, cut from copper mirror card, for my greeting.  I also used the grasses from Gleeful Gardens on my background which was created using Distress Oxide inks in Speckled Egg, Bundled Sage, and some Peeled Paint.  The flowers were cut from paper I colored with Distress Oxide as well, Worn Lipstick and Seedless Preserves.    I then grunged them all up with Walnut Stain and some shimmery copper splatters.  I tried really hard at the end to ruin them with glue everywhere because, you know, it's not fun(exhilarating) unless you try to mess it up just as your almost finishing a project...

I could not decide on a greeting so I used 3 different ones.  The Hello is new just got that one while in Iowa at Scrapmania.  I love being able to use new product within a month of getting it, instead of putting it away and forgetting about it
Thank you for stopping by and taking a look.  Hope you have a Wonderful Weekend.

Dandelion Card - Inspired By

Lately I was having issues getting inspired, so I asked Abbi to pick out some supplies and I would make a card.  She came back with 2 ideas.  This is the first completed Inspired By cards.  I used a number of Memory Box/Poppy Stamps dies and created this sweet Dandelion Birthday card.  The greeting is from a Scrapbook.com stamp set embossed in white.   The background is just Distress Oxide inks

I was racking my brain trying to figure out how to do the fluffies on the dandelions and finally settled on some white yarn pulled apart until I just had little fluffy fibers which I glued behind the tiny flowers.   Some tiny glued on dots and then white gel pen dots also help the affect.

Really happy with it turned out as I have been struggling lately not being inspired.  The dog days of Summer got me.   Hopefully I will figure out card number 2 and share later.

Hope your enjoying your Summer.   Have a Great Day.

Tea Cup Mother's Day Cards - Etsy Shop

Good Morning.  I added a new set of Mother's Day cards to the Etsy Shop.  I love how these came out.  I cut various pieces of Pink and Red patterned paper into tea cups added a punched lace border and some leaves and flowers.  These turned out better than I imagined after I figured out how to layer the cups.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.  We're back at it this week.  Creating and Crafting.

Scrappy Saturday - To Walk In Nature

Today's layout comes from a challenge to use a quote as a title.  I also added the challenge to use up some scraps.  For the first part I used larger Thickers to do my title/quote.  So love how this turned out.  Then down the other side I pulled out all of my flower punches and scraps that matched my photos and went to town punching and laying them all out.  They look great with this photo of Lake Michigan in the Spring as things begin to bloom.  And we were truly walking in nature on our Dunes.

Hope you enjoy this one.  Have a Great Day.

Crabapple Tree

I cannot tell you how much I LOVE this tree in the Spring.  She produces the most amazing blooms and fills to the brim with them.  They only last about a week before a high wind or rain storm comes along and takes them all away.  It's like Mother Nature wants me to stop and pay attention to this tree and remember nothing lasts forever.
These pictures turned out amazing with the blue sky.   Makes my heart Happy!
Hope you are enjoying the little things this Spring.  Remember nothing lasts forever, good or bad.

Coneflowers - Part of the Process

Playing with some die cuts.  Not quite sure what these are going to be but I am obsessed with how they look right now.  I'll be sure to share when the creation that is cooking in my brain comes to fruition.
I worked thru each color adding shading and tops.
Love these little containers from the Dollar Tree they were great to sort out the various shades of Purple, Pink and Orange.

Hope your day is Amazing!  Thank you for stopping by.

Before the Storm - Spring Showers

My crab apple tree is my favorite flowering tree in our yard.  Every year I try to get pictures of it's beautiful lushness before one of the many rain storms comes along and removes all the petals.
This year I got out between waves of rain and got some pictures of the buds and blooms.  I hope it stays around for a sunny day.

There are tons of buds and they are pretty strong so I'm holding out for a in full bloom photo in the next couple of weeks.  But look at that storm coming our way and we are expecting frost?????  EEEEK

Hope your staying dry this time of year and your Spring showers are mild.  Have a great day!

Another 50th Wedding Anniversary

The second 50th Wedding Anniversary Card I was asked to make.   Digging more into my fancy paper flower stash.    I love the way it turned out.  The bow got a little curled when I slid it into the box.  OOOOPS!

Wedding Easel Card

This card was created for a very close friend that's sister is getting married.  I love how it turned out.
Spellbinders Dies, Making Memories Paper, Anna Griffin Papers and lots of lots of Flowers, leaves, pearls and ribbon.  Most of the flowers are from I Am Roses.

This is  the inside for some reason the color is all wonky on this photo????  Just got my Fancy Labels Two which I absolutely adore.  I also used a new Lifestyle crafts embossing folder which I love love.

Hope everyone is having an Awesome weekend.  Only a few more days until thanksgiving and then we will begin our Fabulous Five Holiday Cards Series here and I  think I've convinced Dianne to participate????  Maybe some words of encouragement will get her excited?

Flowering this Saturday

The weekend is here,  Dave has headed to Wisconsin  for an Event in Boscobel he was excited.  The girls and I played all day yesterday.  Today they are tucked away in their rooms playing.    So I'm catching up on the Olympics and cleaning in the Scrap Room.

In keeping with the weekend floral theme....  Here is a flower I made out of a little battery operated tea light.  These would be perfect lined up down the center of a table for a garden party.

Papers are Anna Griffin and Bazzill Cardstock.  The punch is EK Success.  The tea lights are from the drug store.

Coffee Coffee Coffee Filters

Happy Friday All!  Hope everyone is staying cool in this heat...   It's no secret I'm a coffee junkie.   I found some old filters left over from an old coffee pot and created these lovely flowers with them using a Spellbinders Spiral Blossom.   I'm now buying filters whenever I see them at a really good price!
I colored the pink flowers with Jenni Bowlin Ink Chewing Gum Ink.  The papers are Dear Lizzy by American Crafts.   Love love how soft and pretty these flowers are IRL.

Working Working

A couple of weeks ago I did a physical inventory of my Etsy stuff and reorganzied my Etsy filing system.  I decided I needed at least 100 items in my shop.  So I've been working and photographing and I have begun to add new items to my shop!     Working on getting to 100.  Here is a lovely Thinking of You card that was added today.  Getting a little closer!

Oooh our Craft Collective meeting was cancelled for tonight in case you didn't hear.  I'll be at work though come by for a visit!

Summer Break is Near!

It really is it begins tomorrow at 11:21am.  The kids will come running out of the school and ready to begin their summer adventures!  This year has zoomed by!   Soon I will have a 5th grader and a 2nd grader.  Totally doesn't seem possible.

I've been working on teacher gifts for end of year.  I took some old cigar boxes I bought at the church rummage sale a couple of years ago and painted them layered paper and embellishments and made coordinating cards to go inside for 2 of the teachers.  Then for some of the other teachers I used did something similar with mini picnic baskets but the cards in those were 3x3. I also covered nuggets with decorated addres labels and put those in the boxes.    I went with a summery vintage feel for colors.  I have no idea where this came from?  I'm usually so bright with my colors.  But I had to play with pearls and pastels for some reason.  Below is a sampling of the gifts.

Happy Mothers Day belated!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mothers Day!  I know I did.  I slept in!  Then got lots of candy and cards and lovely pictures with my coffee.  Played on the WII played with my crafty stuff.  Then the family took me out to dinner to McCormick & Scmicks love love loved it!  I even got dessert upside down apple pie!  YUMORRIFIC!    Before that this weekend I got lots of tulips it was quite nice!  Saturday Night we made homemade pizzas and hung out all evening.  Friday night Dave and I went downtown to the Gage and met some friends of his from College.  We had a wonderful time with such Warm and Friendly friends at one of our Favorite places.  All and all the weekend ROCKED!  This morning I got up and did  NOTHING besides take the kids to school!  I finally started working around 10:30 but still!  It was awesome to have some quiet time!  I'm teaching Fantastic Folds tonight!  Can't wait to share my creations!

Last card from my Vintage Class at the store.  This one is my own design.  Totally turned out how I wanted after I figured it out!

Roses Roses

There is a learning curve with these roses.  My first one looked like a bowl!  HA!   I finally got it though and was able to add them to a card for my Vintage Card class at CraftFancy!  They turned out very pretty using the new 7Gypsies papers.  Also used Glitz Designs and American Craft Stamps,  Coordinations paper for Jenni Bowlin, Spellbinders, lace and pearls.

How was your Monday?

Card uses AC Paper, Bazzill Cardstock, Various Ribbons, Schlosser Designs Stamps(Greeting)

My day was GREAT.  The kids were back in school, Dave was off to work.  I was alone in the silence.  I completed 17 cards today very productive indeed!  To be fair a bunch were all the same for sets and I had colored the images last night in front of the TV but still I cut, assembled, embellished and bagged them up.  Then I started in on Valentines because well I'm a little obsessed with valentines at the moment.  I still have to photograph what I did today but I am sharing with you a card for my Ribbon Round Up Class.  We're using Ribbon in non-Traditional Ribbon to Card applicaitons.  Hmmm have to think of a better way to say that!

So anyway how was your Monday?  Hope you had a wonderful start for your week!

Antique Store Find

Found a baggie full of vintage road maps in an Antique Mall when I was down in Franklin, TN. I've been making envelopes with them for birthday cards and such. But after getting my new Blossom Nestability from Spellbinders I decided to make this very fun set of dimensional flowers. They are larger over 3" in diameter. I distressed the map with alcohol ink and added some Making Memories nail heads. Roughed up the edges a bit and it's the perfect embellishment!

Ok as promised a happy note can I just say Abbi and Matthew are back on! Carrie we can resume planning the wedding! I asked today if they were in Love again and was informed "yes Yes and YES!". Oh to be 6 again, when you don't care if he likes your best friend sometimes!

Weekend Stuff

Working on this layout. It has some

technical difficulties. Need to break out the sewing maching. That'll fix it!

Other than that summer is going slow around here trying to keep the kiddos entertainted! ARGHHHH!
