Vintage Fall Themed Cards

Hello and Happy Fall.  So excited to share these cards I created using Vintage images cut out and layered over some Tim Holtz die cut skeleton leaves.  I cut the leaves from paper I created using oxide inks and the smooshing technique.

The little gold embellishments are Diamond Dots.  Love those little things they are perfect for everything.  The patterned paper is some old Fancy Pants paper from a 6x6 pad. Finally I added some black twine.
I think the set turned out perfect.
Thank you so much for stopping by!   Hope your enjoying the first few days of Fall.

Have a Beer for Your Birthday

Some new masculine cards up in the Etsy shop HERE today.  I love this blueprint beer mug from Tim Holtz.  It's fun and perfect for anyone really.
I colored the mug with Copic Markers and added the greetings from Hero Arts.  I love the party on...
stamp reminds me of Wayne's World(am I giving away my age?).  Either way it makes me laugh.

Monkey Birthday Cards

Some Adorable new cards in the Etsy shop HERE this week.  These cute little Monkey Birthday Cards.

I created the Monkey/Chimpanzee with punch art which is so much fun I may do a series of tutorials on these and other cute little characters. The leaves came from a Tim Holtz die set and the Greeting is Hero Arts.   I did add an embossed background,  thank you to everyone on my Instagram and Facebook Stories that voted for this one! It worked out perfectly!

I think I'm in love with that little face!  Aren't you?

Thank you so much for stopping by to take a look.  Have a Wonderful Day and stay Safe!

Scrapbooking - Fall Life

This layout came out of one of my page kits.  I have a ton of these set up and ready to go for whenever the scrapbooking bug tickles me.  Each kit usually includes a couple of pieces of pattern paper.  Maybe a specific embellishment or two and some cardstock.  This one in particular had patterned paper cardstock and some scraps.  I got a new tool from WRMK the Alphabet Punch Board, so I was excited to use it as well as a new Heidi Swapp stencil.  I love how the cluster at the top turned out(embellishments not from the kit but from my embellishment box).  As well as the stenciled background.  I love getting back to doing techniques on my layouts.  The title cut from the WRMK Alphabet Punch Board is cut from a very old piece of I think Wild Asparagus paper.  EEEP that is old.   My stash goes back over 20 years some of these things I just can't part with I must use!

The Picture Story - This is how I decorate my porch for fall.  I wasn't expecting snow so early before Thanksgiving this year though.  But I love the dusting on top of my display!

Thank you once a gain for returning.  I'm enjoying working in my craft room again.

Tropical Card Series - Tiki Guys and a Bonus Box

I fell in love with these Tiki Guys from the Tim Holtz Tropical die set.  As I was making this all I could think about was the Tiki Curse from the Brady Bunch episode that totally sucked me in as a kid(did I just date myself like that?).   I do love how these dies cut watercolor paper.  I washed the paper with browns and then inked up the dies after I cut them for more texture.
The tropical leaves are cut out of Echo Park Paper from the 6x6 pad A Perfect Summer.  The blue background is from the same pad.

So to give these cards as a gift I created a Gift Box for them.  I have a tutorial on this box from 2013 which you can find HERE.  I used one of my new 12 x 12 paper pads from Michael's for the patterned paper for the lid and cardstock for the base.  The flamingo is cut with my silhouette and the stamp is from MFT stamps.
This made a lovely Hostess Gift for a Dear Dear Friend from High School that hosted all of our friends for a BBQ this Summer.  It was a wonderful evening with Friends supporting Friends.

So this is the end of this Series.  I feel like cards are getting a bit boring to me I've made some others for my Etsy shop I will share later but I have an itch to Scrapbook so I think layouts are in my near future!  Not that cards are gone for good but I have to go back and forth to keep the mojo alive!

Thank you for joining me for this Series and I hope you return for everything coming up in the future!  Have a Great Weekend!

Tropical Card Series - Pineapples and more Pineapples

Had so much fun using my Distress Oxide and Distress Ink to make the pretty background for this card.  The stamped greeting is from MFT Clear Stamps Written in Watercolor it is stamped in Versamark and embossed in black.  The Pineapple comes from Silhouette and is cut out of Mirracard Gold.  I've added some mini sequins in various pinks as well.

I love how the watercolor turned out I just need to work on the warping.
Here we have the same Pineapple as above and a greeting from Hero Arts.  The patterned paper is Echo Park A Perfect Summer.  I've used one of my Daniel Smith watercolors in  yellow for the drops on the white.
Those pink stripes are from some scraps sitting out on my desk.  It definitely needed more color!  Especially with the Kraft card base.

I hope everyone is enjoying their Summer now that we are right in the middle.  My kids are busy with their summer activities but starting to look forward to school again!  Have a wonderful day!  Thank you for stopping by.

Fab Friday Tutorial - Inchie Background Making with Bombshell Stamps

I'm over on the Bombshell Blog today with a little tutorial on making an inchie backgrounds card with Bombshell Stamps.  It's late but I lost track of days of the week with School Prep!  I feel so bad and am so sorry!  Anyhoo, here are the supplies I started with.  Stamps Mermaid Treasure and Hawiian Girl, I chose a summer theme.  Distress Inks in Bright Colors along with their matching daubers.  A 1" punch and white paper.
I inked up the paper the solid Pink and Blue will be for mats for my inchies.
Then I stamped a ton of small images onto my rainbow sheet of paper with Archival Ink in random patterns,
Now punch 1" squares out of the stamped piece and cut 1 1/8" squares out of the blue and pink.
I was first going to put these on a plain white card however I decided I needed to pick up some more colors so I created the Yellow background with ink and stencils using the same colors.  So here I would like to note, it is easier to line up your completed inchies we build an L on the card.  Then everything gets attached according to those lines.
This is the completed piece.  Now to embellish.
I have added the Mermaid colored with Copic then foam taped and some coordinating Sequins as well as a bit of stickles.  The Mermaid is mounted on a small piece of Orange I colored with the same ink.
Here is a close up of the layers.

Thank you so much for stopping by today HAVE A GREAT ONE!

Watercolor Progress

A little of my progress on the Watercolor class for Thursday at Craft Fancy!  Things will be complete tomorrow so I will share completed projects.  I'm excited to be working on Halloween Woo Hoo!  Break out the fun supplies!

Swap for March 2013 CARS

My swap card for this Months CARS(Chicago Area Rubber Stampers) Club Meeting.  This month we used a sketch for our cards.  I spritzed some white shamrocks with green Walnut Ink and glued them to Vellum Metal Rimmed Circle Tags, Embossed some white cardstock with a Tim Holtz Embossing Folder, Stamped Lucky down a strip of white then border punched a strip of green paper.  Everything came together pretty nice with some foam tape and green ink on the edges.  We make 16 items to swap each month next month we're swapping our creations with our white elephant mystery item we pulled out of the bag last month.  Mine is super challenging I"ll come back with a share on that process.

Hope everyone is having a great week!  Stay WARM!

More Bees - Playing with the Diffuser

I finally got around to playing with the Tim Holtz Diffusers and the Honeycomb Embossing folder.  I can't believe I was intimidated by them.  So simple and such a cool affect.  I've also used the Memory Box Jolly Bumble Bees and the Honey Bee Skep as well as the greeting from Lawn Fawns Bee Mine stamp set.

We did a little shopping at ABT yesterday and in 3 more days my new dryer arrives this is my Valentine gift WOO HOO.  I can't wait to do laundry!  For real not that I haven't done laundry for the last two months I've just been hanging everything to dry.  Which is very time consuming considering how little space we really have to hang laundry.  So I am a bit behind.  You can see how my Friday will go right.  That's ok I'm looking forward to warm fresh laundry out of the dryer.

Enough about my laundry issues their just boring.  Tonight after Em's Chorus rehersal we are baking Yummies for the Art Clubs Valentine Party and working on Ab's b-day party invites.  That is more exciting!  Can't wait to get crafty with the girlies once they are home from school and activities.  It will be a great kick off to the week.

Happy New Week.  for stopping by!

Fab 5 Fall Card Series - Day 4

Supplies Used:  Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Thankful Silhouettes,  Distress Ink, Versamark, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Gun,  Sponges,  Piercing Tool not pictured Brown Twine.

This is a simple card.  First stamp fall words in Versamark on Ivory Cardstock.  Then sprinkle with Clear Embossing Powder and Heat Set.
Once cool start adding Distress ink with the sponges lightest to darkest.  Here we started with Mustard Seed.
Then we did Peeled Paint and Rusty Hinge.
Lastly Spiced Marmalade and Gathered Twigs.
On a smaller sheet of ivory paper stamp wheat sheathe in Scattered Straw.  Trim wheat image down ink edges and mount.
Trim down the fall words, ink edges and mount.
I used this super cool dental floss Paula(SIL) gave me to pull the twine through a small hole made on either side of the sheathe see below.  I then tied a bow.

Lastly I added some foam tape and mounted the wheat sheathe onto the card.

Sorry for forgetting the Canvas Corp twine in the supply picture.

We had scrapping last night at Dianne's.  It was a very pleasant evening and I got some tags done for the C.A.R.S. swap tomorrow.  On my way home I was alarmed to see Christmas lights on a house.  I'm not done with my fall/Thanksgiving cards and I'm seeing Christmas lights, UGH.

Ok so tomorrow is the end of the series which was kind of fun.  I will start showing peaks of upcoming classes after that.   I want to get some done before the Craft Fancy Holiday Make & Take event this Saturday.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a Great Thursday.

Fab 5 Fall Card Series - Day 2

Supplies Used - Gina K. Stamps, Spellbinders Fancy Framed Tags Two, Tim Holtz Alterations Bubble Wrap, Distress Ink, Perfect Pearls Shimmer Spray, Ribbon
I'm excited to use some new Gina K. stamps, Alterations Embossing Folders and Spellbinders Dies.    It's rare I use something that I've purchased so quickly after I get it unless I purposely bought it to use in a class.
Ink up each leaf with Distress Ink then mist with the shimmer spray before stamping to paper.  This creates a watercolor affect.
Once the leaves are dry fussy cut out each leaf.
With the Bubble Wrap embossing folder dry emboss the Ivory layering Cardstock.

Die cut an Ivory Fancy Framed Tag and stamp the greeting.  Layer over ribbon taped to the back of the layering piece, with foam tape.  Insert leaves around the frame an add a bow at the bottom of the tag after adhering card to front of the card.

I hope you've enjoyed today's card.  Tomorrow we will explore building a scene with die cuts and punches with card #3!  One of my favorite techniques.  Have a Wonderful Day and Thank You for Visiting!
