Pink & Green Christmas Cards

I'm on a roll and have been making a few cards a week now that I've gotten my mojo back.  I'm trying to create multiples at one time, makes for more efficient use of my time and I have a number of cards completed to either send, sell or donate, which is amazing.

This little card used a lot of what was on my desk.  Some stamps from Ali Edwards & Heidi Swapp,  a Spellbinders deer die and some MFT greetings dies.  I used Distress Oxide inks to stamp. I had a package of white scalloped card bases I purchased from somewhere and I always have twine?  Then I just got to putting it all together.
I'm not sure why my photos are so washed out but well you get the gist.

Happy Making!  Thanks for stopping by.

Virtual Crop Weekend - The Scraperbowl - Sunday Pages

Today I didn't get as much done as yesterday but still better than nothing.   The first layout is of Emily at the Strawberry patch when she was little I think she ate more than she picked of course.  I created the title with the Silhouette and some red paper with black dots and strawberry seeds.  The strawberry paper is Imaginiece it's an older line.  I did find a wood veneer strawberry which was really exciting.

For the this layout I used American Crafts papers and some various dies to create this layout.  The bunnies and carrots are Spellbinders, the swing is memory box, the suns are IO and the title is Scrapbook.com.  The pictures are of the kids and their cousin playing in the back yard on one of  the first nice days we had.

So that's 7 layouts complete this weekend.  Not too bad usually one of Victoria Marie's crops offer you challenges for up to 9 or 10 layouts/projects.  Sometimes I get them all done sometimes I get a few done it just depends on what else is  going on, on a daily basis.  The only bad part of cropping at home is that I still have to cook and take care of other things while I'm cropping.  But it's still so productive.  At a crop I would be talking and shopping and getting about the same amount of pages complete so I'm happy.

Hope you had a great weekend.  I can't wait for the next crop weekend.

Valentine Card - Spellbinder Small Die of the Month January 2021

My Spellbinders kit comes late in the month.  Sometimes I hat this and sometimes I love that it gives me time to plan what I'm going to do.  I had some fun creating some Valentine Cards with this one.  I also added some old greeting dies I had in my stash to complete this.

Valentine Cards - Washi Tape Valentine

So I'm trying to get some Valentine cards done and use up some of my stash that was part of my 2021 Goals this year. (I have a post on this here) I have an entire container of Washi tape I want to use up so I pulled out reds, pinks and blacks and grabbed some more from my regular stash to create these backgrounds.
I then pulled out all my Love/Valentine dies and used these to create the greetings and to cut the larger hearts.  All of this is popped up with foam tape over the washi tape background.
It was fun using up stash and some dies I forget I have.

I love the washi tape backgrounds I think I'll try this for another set of cards at some point.  I will say this though, washi tape is hit or miss.  There was a lot of cussing when I would get to a roll that just would not peal up.  I think I tossed about 3 full rolls, my patience is lacking when things don't work as they should.  There was a lot of garbagey pieces for the ones that worked even.

I am going to revise my 2021 goals just a bit when I get to the quarter to include cards and other projects not just layouts.  Since I  do all kinds of paper crafts and as long as I'm using stash it should count?  No?

Splish Splash - Scrappy Saturday

Digging in to some old photos I found these adorable ones of Emily when she was little in a bathing suit in the water where she loved to be.  She is totally my little mermaid.

I did start this originally for a challenge that included a sketch and the need to use a song title.  I think I have 3 song titles on this layout.  I got to use my Counterfeit Kit along with one of my Spellbinder dies(the mermaid) to create this.  I did find the sketch challenging so it took me too long to do.  But it doesn't look as bad as I think it did in the beginning.

Hope all is well.  Hang in there!  Hugs everyone!

Lovely - Scrappy Saturday

My Friend Maggie took Abbi on a trip to Michigan for one of Megan's skating competitions.  They stayed right on the dunes and she took some amazing photos of them and sent them to me.  I love love their happy faces and all of the beautiful sunshine on the dunes they enjoyed during time off from the Rink.

I used a Pink Paisley kit from The Scrap Room and some Spellbinders dies I chalked up. I 'm so in love with this color palette.  The black doily is from Doodlebug and the letters are American Crafts thickers.

Thank you so much for stopping by to take a look.  I hope all is well with you and yours...

Floral Birthday Card - Spellbinders Small Die of the Month

A year ago this die set enticed me to join the Spellbinders Small Die of the month kit and I have been loving it ever since.  This card was created for my Etsy Shop HERE.  The flowers are perfect for this happy floral Birthday card.  I love it so much.
I did a little light stenciling and used a Stampin up die for the greeting with some glitter paper.
Who wouldn't love to receive this card in the mail or with a gift?  Maybe it is the gift itself?

Thank you so much for stopping by to take a look I hope everyone is safe and Happy!

C.A.R.S. February Swap - Season

This month our theme is Season.  I have chosen to do all of the seasons.   I used the Lawn Fawn stamps Trees Before n After along with the dies.  I colored each tree with copic markers and cut them out.  Then I layered them on to a piece of blue with a green postage stamp background from Spellbinders.  The greeting came from the stamp set was embossed in black.  I did think the background was a bit bland so I versamark stamped a dotted background from Hero Arts.
Unfortunately our swap was cancelled this month due to snow and ice but we will trade these along with the next months in March.   Everybody stay safe out there and have a great day!

C.A.R.S. January 2020 Swap - Mad For Plaid or Stripes

And so it begins a new year full of new cards and projects.  For our first C.A.R.S.(Chicago Area Rubber Stampers) card swap we were challenged with Mad for Plaid or Stripes.

I chose plaid and some new(to me) blue chalk ink pads I found at the Paper Source late last year.  Since this line of in pads are going away I was happy to get 2 shades of blue that worked really well together.   I stamped my plaid using a retired plaid stamp set from Stampin Up called Perfect Plaids and alternated the 2 shades of blue.  The die is from Spellbinders called Rosemal which I layered white on top of silver mirror card.  Felicitations is an old Just Johanna(Odd Bird Planet) stamp which was done in the darker blue and layered again on silver mirror card.  To finish it off I added a few sequins that were iridescent.  It turned out okay.  I somehow envisioned it crisper in my head but it's never the same as how I see it prior to creating it.

Excited for our meeting it's always fun to see what everyone creates.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look today hope your New Year is off to a good start!

Happy Birthday Emily

I cannot believe Emily is 19 today.  Happy Birthday Sweetie.  You're growing up to be an AMAZING human being and I am so lucky to watch from the sidelines.  You will always be my squitchy.

I had fun making this card using the Spellbinders small die of the month and some Doodlebug paper.

Thank you for taking a look have a great day.

Tropical Card Series - Adventure Shaker Card

So today I have a fun shaker card.  It started with a bit of watercolor background I created using all of the various blues I had.  I thought it looked very oceany.  So I stamped a palm tree with a bit of island.  I water colored the tree with my new Daniel Smith watercolors.  There is a little shaker building pic on my Instagram.
For the frame I used some Spellbinders dies and acetate.  The frame was cut from white cardstock which I stamped with a Leaf from the same set as the Palm Tree, retired Stampin Up - Do the Hula.  The leaves are stamped with Distress Ink Twisted Citron and Peeled Paint.
I created a foam tape shaker box and added some Seashore Micro Beads and a few blue and green sequins.  I did get a bit carried away with the Seashore Beads.  Eeeep you can no longer see my little Island I painted a lovely sandy color.   Oh well it's still cute.  The word Adventure is cut from my newest super deal the Tim Holtz Adventure Thinlets.  I got these at Hobby Lobby last week for $7 that's almost 60% off YAY!!!  I love a bargain I end up using right away!   The blue twine or Caribbean is from the Twinery.  I ordered a bunch of solids with some friends awhile ago it's about time I used some.  The card base is a dark Kraft.

WOW this was a wordy post....  Sorry about that.  Thank you so much for coming by to visit.  I really appreciate it!  Hope your having a Wonderful Week!

Doing Some Napkin Art

For a long time I've done Napkin Art I just love the beautiful 3 ply napkins you can get at some of the Home Stores.  Way to fancy to wipe my hands on so I like to turn them into altered art and cards and such. I have taught this a couple of times in my Terrific Techniques class @Craft Fancy in the past.  Maybe it's time for another class using these wonderful little works of art.   This one was created with a Floral Motif Napkin and a Rolled Flower Die from Spellbinders.  For the Greeting I used one of my favorite greeting sets from Bombshell Stamps - Banner Sayings.  It turned out to be a Fresh Spring card when it's not "fresh" or "spring" considering we are covered in snow and in the deep freeze.  I have more I will share again later.

June Bombshell Stamps Blog Hop - Textures & Layers

Welcome to the June Bombshell Blog Hop -  This months theme is Textures and Layers.  I'm hoping mine are visible with my lighting.  The card is plain white but the mat on top of that which is white but embossed with the Polk-a-dot Embossing Folder.  Then the Palm Tree and Shell from the Bombshell Hawaiian Girl set are stamped onto watercolor paper and watercolored along with the sand, sea and sky.  After that I die cut waves from another piece of watercolor paper and rubbed it with my Gelatos.  To finish it off I ran it through the Bubblewrap embossing folder and added a Pearl and Rhinestones to the Shell, Waves and Sun.  The entire piece is popped up onto the white embossed mat with foam tape.

Be sure to head on over to all of the other fun Blogs participating in this hop.

And since I opened a new package of Foam Tape today I had to share an addiction with you!  Yup I have a lot of TAPE!  I and others go through a lot so our LSS carries the large rolls!  36 yards.   MMMMM I Love Fresh Tape!  OK enough of my sickness... Back to our regularly scheduled programing.  Thanks for stopping by.
