Language of Love Florals

Hey!

As promised, I'm back today with some details for card I shared yesterday plus another one too!

Both these cards are using the Language of Love stamp set. Neither are at all romancey - yes I wanted to get more use out of this cute stamp set. You can still order this set which is in the Spring/Summer catalogue until the end of the month.

Stamp Set: Language of Love, Happy Day
Ink: Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz
Cardstock: Whisper White, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz, Silver Glimmer Paper
Punch: Bird Builder, Small Heart, Owl Builder
Embellishments: Linen Thread, Subtles Buttons

Here I used the sweet little small hearts to make some sweet flowers. I love the patterns on then and look great. I decided I wanted the leaves to have some texture to match the flowers so I used the spotty banner and punched after. I know the banner isn't quite large enough to cover the whole branch but it doesn't look too bad.

Buttons, a little linen thread bow and glimmer heart are cute finishing touches for this clean and fresh card!

Stamp Set: Language of Love, Happy Day
Ink: Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz
Cardstock: Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz, Silver Glimmer Paper
Punch: Bird Builder, Pansy, Fancy Flower, Owl Builder
Embellishments: Linen Thread, Subtles Buttons

Yes this is quite similar to the other card, same colour scheme, but just using one larger flower. I used the love text heart to make my own pattern paper by nesting the heart together a couple times then punching in the centre. If there's a little overlap, it doesn't matter all that much as the button can cover it. See the image below.

The fancy flower punch is retiring at the end of this month so get in quick if you want it before it's gone for good! Doesn't it layer beautifully with the pansy punch?!

I used the wing from the bird builder to make the leaves. Again button, linen thread bow and a glitery heart are sweet finishing touches.

Hope you're having a great day.

So Kind Celebration

Hi!

Friday - woohoo! Looking forward to a lie in tomorrow! Tonight Stuart and I are going to see one of our favourite comedians, Jon Richardson! I'm super excited, he's a very funny guy!

But before we go, I have a card for the Paper Player's challenge. This week has been a sketch challenge. I've looked at it a few times and I've been desperately wanting to make something for it but what with a busy week and feeling shattered and still under the weather it didn't happen until last night.

Stamp Set: Sweet Essentials
Ink: Always Artichoke
Cardstock: Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe, Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake
DSP: Celebrations Basic Kit, Coral Celebrations Add-On Kit
Punch: Fancy Flower, Boho Blossom
Embellishments: Gold Sequin Trim
Other: White Gel Pen

I've been wanting to use some of the celebrations add-on  pieces to make some cards, finally I got the chance. There's some super cute patterns in the set plus tags and lots more. I used the tag with the pretty white patterned border. I tied that in to the rest of the card with the white gel pen to do a border around the strip of DSP and also to decorate the leaves. I really love the patterns on the leaves - this really lifts the dark artichoke green and adds a fun pattern.

The flowers are alternate cantaloupe and coral for that subtle difference in colour which you can really see when the petals are all fluffed up.
The centre I added a gold blossom and for some added texture by piling up sequins. I also added scattered sequins to fill the gaps and draw the eye through the card.

I love how this has turned out and look forward to making more pretties with this add-on kit. At £8.95 its a real bargain for all the awesome pieces you get in it!

Petals MM330

Hello!

I'm trying another challenge today. I've followed and admired the creations on the Mojo Monday blog for quite a while but never got the courage up to enter something of my own. They have lovely sketch challenges, this is this week's...

What a great challenge to make a tall and skinny - so often its tempting to just make a standard sized card so to have the challenge to make a different size is fun!

Stamp Set: Petal Parade (SAB), Express Yourself
Ink: Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Pool Party, Summer Starfruit
Cardstock: Whisper White, Pool Party
DSP: Sweet Sorbet (SAB)
Punch: Fancy Flower, 2 1/2" Circle
Big Shot: Circles Framelits
Embellishments: Sweet Sorbet Accessories (SAB)

I reversed a couple elements on this card to fit in with my incredibly narrow card. I've got to say I didn't really know where I was going with this card. It was one of those cards I just fiddled with until it looked right.

I've used a whole host of Sale-A-Bration products here - the DSP, Petal Prade stamp set and the accessory pack!

I am totally LOVING the cork embellishments in the Sweet Sorbet accessory pack - love the mixture of flowers, diamonds, scallops! Also in the pack is three twines. This Summer Starfruit twine is three pieces knotted together and then I unravelled them so they'd spread out more.

For the flower, it was punched and then I used the bonefolder to break down the fibres of the card until it separated - its softer, creates more layers and created a beautiful suede effect. The leaves are just folded and cut tear drop shapes, then sponged a little.

Hope you enjoyed this creation. Do you ever make tall and skinny cards?

DSP: Berry Blossoms (Spring Mini), Pocket Full of Posies (Spring Mini)

Come back tomorrow for some more creative inspiration!

fancy flower birthday

As I might have already mentioned Rhoda has been visiting for the last couple weeks and she's let me borrow lots of gorgeous goodies! I've got tons to show you over the next few weeks/months! Rhoda's sister and Stu's cousin Lydia had her birthday on Monday and here is the cute card I made for her using some of the borrowed stamps and punches!

Fancy Flower Birthday

Stamp Set: Creative Elements, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Always Artichoke
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Always Artichoke, Pear Pizzazz, Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Regal Rose
Punches: Fancy Flower, 5 Petal Flower, Boho Blossoms
Ribbon: Always Artichoke Seam Binding, Chantilly Crochet Trim
Accessories: Pearls, Pear Pizzazz Glimmer Brad

I stamped the flourish on the background and on some Pear Pizzazz cardstock. I layered the Pear on some Always Artichoke (I haven't really used this colour much but I just thought it goes so well with Pear Pizzazz for a very elegant card!) I tore the edges too for a different shape and texture - something else I haven't done for quite a while. On top of this I layered my flower (I used the bone folder to give the flower its shape) with some folded scraps of ribbon behind it. I also added a piece of Vanilla card with the sentiment on it - I made it look like another strip of ribbon. Obviously I had to add pearls and voila there's one cute and pretty card! I hope Lyd liked it!
