PPF - The After Party

Well, this is it... Paint Party Friday, The After Party! No cleaning up needed... just kick off your shoes, get a last drink and snack, and let's chat. Tell us a few things in the comments before you go... If you haven't already, please share your Instagram account(s) (if you use it and want us to follow you). If you host or participate in other art link-ups that you think others here would enjoy, please include those for others in the comments as well! Actually... what the heck - let's do another Mr. Linky this week - for two things. First please link any of your own artwork you'd like to share. Paint Party Friday Celebrates 11 Years!

Welcome to Paint Party Friday's Birthday Celebration and Farewell Party! We are so happy to have you with us as we celebrate 11 incredible years!

Eleven years ago, to the day, Paint Party Friday held it's very first party. In the time since, we've celebrated the good times and come together as a community during the sad ones. We've conducted polls, shared artist interviews, coordinated a charity auction blog hop, hosted a tea party, and had giveaways. We've met artists from all over the world and we've made lifelong friendships.

When EVA and Kristin first invited painters to share their work weekly, we had no idea what to expect. We were surprised and delighted when 64 partyers (including Christine and Peggy) showed up! Our little corner of the the internet continued to grow, and at our first birthday we welcomed 106 guests to the party! Since then, PPF has continued to be a place where artists can come to work on paintings, check-in, share their work, and cheer each other on in the process.

We are so grateful for the community and connections that have been created through PPF, but like all good things, this party is coming to an end next week with one final "After Party". Since good-byes are hard, and we'd love to stay in touch, we hope that you'll share your Instagram names with us. (You can find EVA here and Kristin here.)

Paint Party Friday: Week 27. Year 11 Check-In

Welcome to Week 26 of Year 11 here at Paint Party Friday. We continue to hope you are all safe and healthy in this time of social distancing, and that art is helping to alleviate the stress of this unprecedented situation. And that things have started to improve and open up in your part of the world.

This week, the random number generator chose #10: Linda K. One of the things that we have always loved about PPF is the community, friendships, and sharing in this community. In her post last week, Linda shared a wonderful example of that generosity. In addition to all of the lovely artwork she showed, Linda posted this fabulous watercolor swatch page that she made (using watercolors that she won from a giveaway by fellow PPF-er, Soma from InkTorrents!)... We just love to see all of the connections that have been made in this group!

This week we are doing things a bit differently... Instead of letting the random number generator choose a spotlighted artist, we have decided to pay tribute to our fellow PPF-er and dear friend, Tracey Fletcher King. Many of you know that Tracey bravely battled cancer for many years, and we were heartbroken to hear of her passing this past week.

To know Tracey Fletcher King was definitely to love her... How could you not? She had a very special gift for turning the ordinary into something extraordinary. In addition to being an amazing artist (and PPF-er from the earliest days), Tracey's kindness, sense of humor, intelligence, and generosity made her a very bright light in our community. She freely and eagerly shared her talents, time, and even a "cuppa" with the many friends she so easily made from around the globe.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to her loving family (that many PPF-ers knew as "Sinus and Phantom"). We feel so blessed to call her our friend and will miss her dearly.
