Rainbow Honey Fab Summer Set

This is a Rainbow Honey exclusive set available only on Fab.com.

It has three polishes - Tenda, Schrammi, and Costa del Sol

Tenda is a super bright creamy green with copper glassflecks. The coloring/brightness on both the pictures looks weird, but I didn't edit them. It shows that the shimmer appears more in the shade, and how bright the green can get with more light. This was two coats and the formula was nice.

Schrammi is a super cute tomato red with a touch of red coral and it has copper glassflecks and gold shimmer.

Costa del Sol is a gold glitter mix in a clear topcoat. It has large/medium/small holo hexes, glassflecks, and gold bars. This was one coat. The formula was good, but some of the bars curl a little. I suggest painting on Costa del Sol, letting it dry, trimming any curling glitter with cuticle nippers, then applying a thick top coat. It really wasn't that bad.

Here is a serious closeup of Costa del Sol. Very pretty!!
While most of her polishes are available on Rainbow Honey's website for $10 each, this set is exclusive to Fab.com. You can find it on Rainbow Honey's page on Fab.com for $25 for a full size set.

Rainbow Honey Robot Collection

Here is the new Rainbow Honey Robot Collection!!

All of the polishes except Yoshimi have the same finish - metallic with silver flakies.

I absolutely love the art they did for this collection! I wish it were on the bottles too! Here is a little info on the collection and colors too.

Femme Bot is a fuschia metallic.

The formula was good with two coats.

Dusty Bot is a pale silvery purple metallic.

The formula was good with two coats.

Lucky Bot is a bright fresh green metallic.

The finish on this one was really odd. It was drying a bit before I even finished a coat, almost like a matte polish. It was doable, just weird. This is two coats.

Skyward Bot is an ocean blue metallic.

The formula was good with two coats.

Bitty Love Bot is a light teal metallic.

This formula was a lot like Lucky Bot's - quick to dry and weird. This is two coats.

Yoshimi is a clear base filled with black and white squares of various sizes and small iridescent glitters.

This is one coat of Yoshimi over Bondi New York Chasing the Sun. The formula had no issues.

This is totally my favorite polish in the collection! It's a little Connect the Dots-esque, but a totally different take. The iridescent glitters really make it unique.
The metallic collection is a little done, but I do like how they paired a metallic collection with the robot theme. Very cute idea! The foily collection reminds me of the older Color Club Foiled collection of metallic polishes. The colors are mostly different though, so if you dig metallic/foil polishes, hit this one up!
These polishes are available on Rainbow Honey's website for $10 each or $50 for the set of 6. The mini set is $25. Don't worry if you're not in the US, she has lots of other retailers!

Element of Magic

Mmm a romantic manicure for this week :D.

This is two coats of Rainbow Honey the Element of Magic over Borghese Mezzanotte Blue. The accent nail is Orly Pixy Stix with Mezzanotte Blue stamped.

The Element of Magic is a freaky shimmery jelly base packed so full with blue, pink, and purple shimmers it makes it opaque. There are large hexes in pale pink/purple/blue violet, small hexes purple/blue violet/blue/silver holo.

In the shade especially, you can see the polish flash blue, purple, and pink. <3

I'm so glad I have this super cute RH polish I've been wanting now! I still want A Little Kindness from this collection though. And I'm trying to stamp more!

I got these from the Rainbow Honey sale on Fab. It was a great deal! It was a couple dollars off and included a cuticle stick! I like the cuticle stick a lot because it's handmade and very natural. It's the right consistency to spread evenly but not leave bunch of gunk on your nails. Definitely purse worthy!

Did you pick up anything from this sale?

Rainbow Honey Sweet Talk Swatches

Rainbow Honey has a new Valentine's Day collection! I got two of the three and I love them!

Sweet Talk is a white crelly (creme/jelly) with hidden pink microflakie shimmer, large and small hex glitters in pink, purple, and pale light blue. Some of the glitters are a little irregularly shaped too, which I think is fun.

This built up nicely in two coats, but was a little thick so it was hard to spread evenly.

I thought it looked really cool as I started to remove it. It kind of takes the first layer of jelly polish off, but not the glitter. It would look cool again with a top coat. Or you could even try a different color of jelly!

I tried one thin layer over green, pink, gray, and purple to see how it would look. I like that you can see the color through it, but the real difficulty is getting that one coat even. I think it was great on the green and pink, but the others are just so so. You could do this with a little practice if you like this look!

XOXO is a sheer glitter polish with gold holo shimmer, pink and gold microflakies, and small and large pink hexes.

This is one coat of Rainbow Honey XOXO over Zoya Monica. The formula was good. No glitter dobbing or anything.

This is two coats of XOXO by itself.

The collection is available on Fab.com right now through the 20th, then on Rainbow Honey January 25th and on. Don't wait too long though, they're limited edition!!
They're $10 on her website.
The sets of 3, like this collection, are $25. The sets of 2 are $19 and come with a cuticle balm stick!

Rainbow Honey The Yokai Collection Swatches

Rainbow Honey has a new collection for us for Halloween 2012! It will be available for purchase October 13th, but it limited edition and while supplies last!
This is the Yokai collection. We have Kawako, Kitsune, and Oni. They are all named after beings in Japanese folklore, so I added a picture of each inspiration on the bottle. What a unique idea, I love it.

Kawako is "the mischievous river child"...a legendary water sprite found in Japanese folklore. Its story is used to scare children of dangers lurking in waters. This is a dark blue jelly with blue and silver microglitter and microflakies, and blue and purple iridescent flakies from tiny to large. This was a great formula and opaque in two coats.

The flakies are gorgeous and once you know what to look for, you can see them all over the bottle. I didn't get many on the nail though, maybe two...and I can't see them in the pictures. I shook the bottle twice during application for good measure. They definitely aren't sinking in the bottle, so maybe I was just unlucky.

Here's a great view of the microflakie goodness!

Oni is "the malevolent wild demon." Oni are very ugly ogre-like creatures with crazy hair, claws, and horns. These beings take on a variety of forms to trick or consume humans and bring disaster. It has a brownish charcoal jelly base filled to the brim with gold micro flakies and some pink and purple microglitter. This was a great formula and opaque in two coats.

I was so surprised by the base not being a true black. It really adds a little flair to it and makes it extra unique.

 Closeup of Oni ;)

Kitsune is "the magical white fox." They are intelligent magical beings that can assume human form. This is a gorgeous sandy nude beige with red and holo gold glitter and packed with gold microflakies and shimmer. The formula was a little thick and not self leveling, but top coat evened things out quite nicely.

This is my favorite one in the collection, but I feel like it would look nicer on someone with a darker skin tone. Mine is already quite yellowy, but I still love it lol :P.

Here is Kitsune in the shade, where you can see the microflakies even more!

Rainbow Honey polishes are sold for $10 on her website, and this collection will be available for purchase October 13th.
Will you be getting some, all, which?! Which ones are your favorites?

These items were provided to me for my unbiased review. I got my folklore information and pictures from Wikipedia: Kawako, Oni, Kitsune

Rainbow Honey The Yokai Collection: Sneak Peak!

Rainbow Honey has a new collection for us for Halloween 2012! It will be available for purchase October 13th, but it limited edition and while supplies last!
This is the Yokai collection. We have Kawako, Kitsune, and Oni. They are all named after beings in Japanese folklore, which I will go into more in my swatch post.

These are my first Rainbow Honeys ever and the packaging is so cute! I also really appreciate how they come a little more eco-friendly than other brands. The boxes offer a good bit of protection, so layers and layers of plastic bubble wrap aren't necessary - just a little bubble wrap pouch. Then she wrapped it with a good bit of tissue paper (and paper is a much more renewable and eco-friendly resource than plastic) and sealed it with silver heart stickers <3. Cute and hip ;).

Kawako is "the mischievous river child." This is a dark blue jelly with blue and silver microglitter. But look closer and you'll see some awesome blue and purple flakies floating in there! What a great surprise!

Kitsune is "the magical white fox." This is a gorgeous nude beige with red and holo gold glitter and packed with gold microflakies.

Oni is "the malevolent wild demon." This is a black polish filled to the brim with gold micro flakies and has another fun surprise of pink microglitter.

How awesomely cool are these polishes? I can't wait to swatch these puppies, so you'll see them very soon if not tomorrow! Rainbow Honey polishes are sold for $10 on her website, and this collection will be available for purchase October 13th.
