Caroling Penguins

Hi Folks,
I was sorting through some wooden stamps on Thursday night and I came across this Penny Black stamp which I have had for years but hardly used. It's not that I don't like it, it's just that in the past I've always just inked it up and then coloured it in leaving the black wings and backs just as they were inked. The end result was always disappointing as the bodies never looked dark and even enough - does that make sense?? Anyhow, I suddenly had a brainwave - a rare event so you have to make the most of them!! - colour over the top with black promarker, I know you are probably all rolling your eyes thinking hardly rocket science but I'm happy with the end result and to be fair the last time this was inked I didn't even own a single promarker!!

I think it must have been fate to colour this in because the challenge at Winter Wonderland announced on Friday is Pppp pick up a penguin and these little chaps were sat on my desk!! I found time to make this today using the sketch at The Sweet stop:

I'd also like to enter this trio into the following challenges before they retire to my Christmas card box!!

Crafty Creations - Something old (stamp) and something new (black pearls)
Penny Black Saturday - Anything goes
Sparkles Christmas challenge - Fave Christmas colours (traditional red and green!!)
Joanna Sheen - Music and lyrics

Thanks for looking!!

Another Christmas card ...

Afternoon Folks!

This is something of a first for me, 2 Christmas cards made before December!! I'm usually finishing the last ones off on Christmas Eve! Perhaps it's the snowy weather that inspired me to have another sort through my Christmas stash!! Today, I came across one of the first clear stamps I ever bought, this cute little Polar bear is from Spiral Whisper and is no longer available but I think there is a very similar digital version over at Pink Gem. I love the CAS look but I do find them quite difficult because there's no where to hide any mistakes lol!!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Winter Wonderland - Twinkle Twinkle Christmas Star
A Gem of a Challenge - make it cute
Ready Teddy Go - Anything goes (with a bear)
Crafts 4 Eternity - Cute as you like

A bit different....

Afternoon Folks!
Grabbed the chance to have a quick play in my craftroom this morning and this is the end result!! I found a couple of sizzix and cuttlebug snowflake dies that I had forgotten about (oops!)  They didn't look right all layered up in silver so I found a strong contrast of raspberry pink glitter card in my scraps box, I'm not usually a pink girl but I think it kind of works although I'm not 100% sure!!

Thought that as I was going girly I should bling the snowflake up a bit so I raided the gems box too!! sentiment is from LOTV and heat embossed with glittery embossing powder. Background is a swiss dots embossing folder, the cuttlebug has been put through its paces!!

My camera isn't very keen on taking a decent picture today - the card is actually quite sparkly in real life but I can't seem to pick that up. One day soon the weather will improve...

Thanks for looking!!

I have managed to find a few challenges I can't resist entering too:
