Bit of Glitz in a Heart

My card today was inspired by the challenge at Just Us Girls, which was to use a heart die.

I cut my die from watercolor paper. My die had a coordinating stamp, which I had to bring in with some metallic watercolors.

Love a bit of glimmer and shine on my projects. And I love that heart cards double as birthday, sympathy and all the reasons to share love.

I hope you find some time to share some love today.

Black and White 50th Card

Happy New Year!

Creating along with the Color Throwdown challenge.

What's not to love about black, grey and white. I'm often reminded of the opening scenes in Wizard of Oz, but I do find it's fun to create in black and white.

I used an old set for this one with the balloons that you could only imagine being much more colorful. Balloons are usually always colorful, unless you're celebrating a milestone birthday.

I used a mix of supplies for this one! I hope you can get your mix going and create something.

Live Your Zest Life

I had so much fun creating this card that was inspired by the Just Add Ink Challenge. I pulled out an older stamp from Catherine Pooler Designs. I believe this stamp set was created for the bullet journaling program that she had back in the day, but I was always in love with this set and forgot how fun it was to play with.

I used a blender pen to bring int he same ink colors, and Stickles to add the sparkle. What I love about stickles is that they bring out even more color because the inks just blend even more.

And I found the perfect sequin mix.

Go find your perfect sequin mix and get your craft on!

Sweetest Birthday Wishes

My card today was inspired by the Make My Monday challenge prompt of food and/or drink. I took the dessert route of cake and ice cream using a set from Pink & Main.

I used pattern papers that were on my table from a previous project. I love how the balloon paper in the background adds to the party theme. Am I the only one who can't throw away pattern paper scraps? They came in handy for this card.

I found myself wanting an ice cream sandwich after making this card (and I don't really even like ice cream sandwiches).

I hope you find some time to create something fun!

Wishing You a Colorful Day

I had an absolute blast creating this card with it's rainbow of colors using this technique on kraft cardstock.

The sketch was inspired by the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I did swap out flowers for butterflies.

For this card I stamped my background in both white pigment ink and some bright rainbow colors. I used those same rainbow colors to blend my butterflies.

My one alteration from the sketch was centering my sentiment. Because it was a die, it seems more appropriate to center it.

Take some time to create with a rainbow of colors.

Belated Birthday Card with Critters

Wild animals were the challenge at Make My Monday, and so over the weekend I created this card which is full of desert critters. I've got a road runner, a fennec fox, a snake and a scorpion.

And while not a critter, I also have a flying cake.

And a "Happy Birthday" sentiment that sneaks in. My pattern paper is from Dear Lizzy.American Crafts and was perfect for this card.

I love interactive cards and find them so fun to make.

Peace & Joy

"Layer It" was the challenge prompt at Inkspirational. I unearthed one of my favorite holiday pattern papers from Catherine Pooler Designs.

A layer of white cardstock for my card base, kraft cardstock, strips of pattern paper, a circle of white and then a sentiment in gold. Add in some stamped and die cut images on kraft cardstock and sequins.

I just felt like I was recounting the receipe for Rachel's Thanksgiving Day trifle in Friends.

Layer something up today.

Trick or Treat - Card Concept Inspired

I bagged up some old supplies today with the intention of creating some cards with a set on my desk that I meant to use in time for Halloween. Obviously, I missed my deadline. But I still wanted to collect up some items and have a plan to get some cards done before next year. I have at least about 355 days!

The Card Concept was my inspiration today. Sometimes it's hard for me to pick my style, but I would say this one is Clean and Layered.

I used a lot of pattern papers. The inspiration photo had me grabbing these pattern papers.
No foxes on the porch in the photo, but my foxes are dressed like the decor!

I had some fun creating this one. Add one to the pile for Halloween 2025!

Happy Halloween

I was inspired by this week's Just Us Girls' Inspiration. Who doesn't love a fabulous mood board full of Halloween themed items. The image that pulled me in were those witch legs. I'm a sucker for some cute witch legs.

So I staged mine, but a bit toppled over.

She fell into something, and her hat hit the ground. All the webs were surrounding it all.

I do love the coordination of pattern paper, inks and stamps at Catherine Pooler Designs.

I hope you can either make a witchy card or coordinate all the things.

Cheers!

Black, White and a Color for Little Red Wagon

Today's card was inspired by the color challenge at Little Red Wagon. I decided to use a new technique that I learned from an event this summer from Taylored Expressions.

The focal point of this card sits on a floating tag created with acetate. The various strips of cardstock flat on the acetate which is popped on to the background. I chose to make this a sympathy card, as the colors felt calming.

I have the negative of the tag die, so you may see that in a future project.

There was lots of mix and matching of products from different companies in this card, so I hope you can find a way to mix and match!

Shake It Up for Little Red Wagon

I can never miss an opportunity to make a shaker card, as was the prompt at Little Red Wagon. I had this one watercolor piece on my desk for quite some time and decided to put it to use.

Went with a bit of masculine look for this card, and a bit monochromatic in shades of blue.

I do love layers, and nothing says layer it up like a shaker card.

I hope you get the opportunity to shake something up today.

House Mouse ABC Blocks

It's been a while since I colored a House Mouse image, but was inspired to color and create a card with the ABC blocks and the little critters. The prompt at House Mouse & Friends Monthly Challenge was the option of back to school. I thought the blocks were perfect.

But of course, mice in diapers aren't going to make it school . . . only potty-trained mice would make it there. But perhaps the daycare is teaching them to get their blocks in alphabetical order.

In the end I turned it into a supportive card. Sometimes you start out in one place and end up in another.

Find some crafty time today!

Feline Spooky, Inspired by Tic Tac Toe Challenge

I went across the bottom row for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge, including some multiples, die cuts and the sparkle and shine.

I had so much fun creating this card. I cut two panels of my "boo, eek coverplate", one for the purple sparkle and the other to get all my ghosts. I have multiple ghosts, and then added my die cut cats and have multiples there.

Not to mention all the boo's and eeks!

Such a fun card to create. I hope you find some fun creative time today.

Snappy Birthday

I got a little crafty with my pile of stamped Pink & Main images. Make My Monday's challenge is coloring medium. I had stamped some images a few weeks ago for a different MMM challenge, so I pulled out my bag of images and got to coloring again. I used Copics as my coloring medium for the critters, and then created a watercolor background for my ocean.

Stickles in all the right places, and some Glossy Accents on the mask and the beach ball.

You all may be seeing more of these gators (crocs) in the next couple of weeks.

I hope you get the chance to get inky!

Woof! Bark!

When I saw the challenge at Little Red Wagon, I had quite the dilemma. The prompt was "Something You Love."

Tough decision . . . family? Friends? An emotion, feeling? My crafty supplies? Coffee? Pizza?

So I went with a card that depicts at least the family and emotion, and my beloved pets (who are family).

My patio in my backyard is where I sit to watch the shenanigans between my three pups. They aren't big dogs, but they have big hearts and love to chase each other and romp and make noise. While I lounge in an adirondack chair, I watch them do all of the fun stuff. They make me smile.

My grass is a knotted ribbon. My sky is a stenciled background.

I hope you have something that makes you smile.

Just Choose Two for Just Add Ink

Just Add Ink's challenge was a Just Add Two challenge this week. The options: Blending, Embossing and White!

I went with the embossing and the white, starting with a white card base and then using embossing on my cover plate die and sentiment.

I cut my cover plate die from pattern paper and white cardstock. I then trimmed out the ghosts from the white and embossed them in white. I layered some black cardstock behind their eyes, and popped them back into place on the pattern paper piece.

So I'm a bit late for Halloween, or perhaps early? I don't do anything on a timetable. I like to bag up supplies, and grab and create. Embossed, white ghosts were my goal with this adorable cover plate die from Catherine Pooler Designs.

So fun to create, and I hope you find some time to have some fun in your craft room.

Peace and Love

When I saw the challenge photo at Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge, I immediately thought of the Let the Good Times Roll set in my stash.  Barely used!  I brought out some colors and got busy.

And where would this card be without some Liquid Glass?  Hard to see in the photo, but the windows and headlights needed some serious glass!

I would drive this, for sure! I hope it's not too retro looking.

Holiday Diagonal Easel

Well, craftio!  That's the crafty version of "Cheerio"!

I saw the sketch at Christmas Card Throwdown and said, this is your chance to finally attempt that diagonal easel card!  I followed the sketch as best I could given my easel element.

Went with lots of kraft cardstock, and even my pine cones are stamped on kraft.

And my pine cones serve as my easel stand.  Is that the proper term.

I don't know that it fully meets the sketch.  I did have fun,and I don't dislike any of this.  Kraft is good.

With a Cherry on Top

Created this card using the color prompts at Seize the Birthday. The current challenge was to create a birthday card and red, white and one other color.  I chose green for my card and grabbed an old card kit in my stash that had some cherry pattern paper.

I've really been trying to use up my stash of card kits.  Oodles of boxes with coordinating paper, dies, stamps and sometimes embellishments just crying out for my attention. Some are older than others, but no expiration date!

Go use your stash!

Love and Laughter in a Jar

Only my second post for 2023, but digging into my stash of old kits this year to create and hopefully thin out my stash of goodies.

The Color Throwdown challenge this week gave me the opportunity to create this card.  I pulled out this kit which had a pattern paper that I knew would work.  I added some stamps, dies and inks to create this card.

Who doesn't want some love and laughter in a jar? And who doesn't love a metallic jar lid?

I hope you can fill a jar with something awesome, or at the very least do some creating with something in your stash.

Cheers.
