Pattern Paper Friend Card

My card today was inspired by the word prompt at Just Us Girls, which was "friend". I pulled out a number of supplies and in the end was drawn to some pattern paper in my stash.

I had a zipped bag with the paper, some scraps of cardstock and that black border, so from there I pulled in cardstock and some additional dies to create my very subtle "friend" sentiment.

It's been a while since I added a pop of black to a card.

I hope you find some time to create.

Just a Little Bling

I pulled out some old sets to add "just a little bling" to my card, which was the challenge prompt at Just Add Ink.

I kept my bling in my glitter embossed background and my sequins.

And while it's hard for me, I left some white space!

So hard.

Go leave some white space somewhere, and add a bit of glitter.

Paper Pieced Stamped Image

I'm a huge fan of paper piecing. Whether it's stamping and fussy cutting, or it's die cutting and creating pieces to layer . . . COUNT ME IN! It's like a puzzle to me.

I was inspired by Little Red Wagon's challenge suggestion of "piece" which was paper piecing. And so today I'm sharing this card that is a combination of paper piecing dies, and paper piecing stamped images.

The background is paper piecing some pattern paper pieces into a background die. The images of the scissors is cutting and pasting the scissor blades and the handles, which were stamped and then layered onto the solid die cut image. I colored that image with a blender pen and coordinating inks. I just love the pop of dimension.

Do all the piecing and have fun.

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

I love a good Tic Tac Toe board! I played along with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge this week. I went across the middle row . . . Gems/Embellishments with Embossing (I used wet embossing) and Snowflakes. Here is my card . . .

I just love all the texture in this card. between the stamped/embossed card base using embossing glitter to the die cut frame, and then all those sparkly snowflakes. This card just makes me smile.

And then add a bold sentiment!

Highly recommend you layer up some things.

Cheers!

Get Well Soon

My card today was inspired by the sketch at Just Add Ink

I did make one adjustment in the sketch, as my element in the sketch spans up the tire card, and not just in the lower third as shown in the sketch.

This particular stamp, stencil and die set is from Hero Arts, and I love the gradation of color in the flowers. I really enjoy the opportunity to color with stencils.

I hope you find some time to create today!

It's a Boy

Stencils was the challenge this week at Just Us Girls, and I love a good stenciling session. It gets the blood pumping!

And so today, a baby card using some Pretty Pink Posh stencils.

I do love this technique which is perfect for stenciled backgrounds. I used a mix of yellow, blue and green to create this card. While I used only one shade of each color, I varied the heaviness of the blending to get some lighter/darker shades.

What are you waiting for? Use a stencil!

Naughty or Nice?

The color combination at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown was my inspiration for this card. Admittedly my end result is a little odd, but my original thought in creating this is to have a choice of a green or a pink check on whether you wanted to be naughty or nice.

The little shaker with the options for the checks reminds me of one of those boxes where they say "Brake in case of an emergency." And behind the glass is a Snickers candy bar.

I do we think we have times where we can pick between both checks, so maybe pick both?

I hope you find some time to be n........

Trick or Treat - Card Concept Inspired

I bagged up some old supplies today with the intention of creating some cards with a set on my desk that I meant to use in time for Halloween. Obviously, I missed my deadline. But I still wanted to collect up some items and have a plan to get some cards done before next year. I have at least about 355 days!

The Card Concept was my inspiration today. Sometimes it's hard for me to pick my style, but I would say this one is Clean and Layered.

I used a lot of pattern papers. The inspiration photo had me grabbing these pattern papers.
No foxes on the porch in the photo, but my foxes are dressed like the decor!

I had some fun creating this one. Add one to the pile for Halloween 2025!

It's All Black and White

Continuing my use of items in my stash, and decided to create a little something in black and white.  This card was inspired by CAS on Friday's challenge prompt of "leaves".

I really love this set from The Stamp Market.  It has the main leaf stamp set, and then a separate stamp for the veins of the leaves. I also stacked my sentiment which provides a cleaner look than foam tape.

I stamped and die cut multiple times.  I love the simplistic look of the black and white.

I hope you find some time to raid your stash.

Flowers Everywhere for SOS

The Shopping Our Stash Weekly Challenge prompt was "Flowers, Flowers Everywhere".

I created my background using a coordinating stencil and stamp from Hero Arts.

Rather than use the full panel for this card, I decided to add some interest by breaking the card into quadrants and having a black panel.  I think it helped to really "pop" the design.

This is a beautiful set and while I bought it as a kit, I've heard recently that the individual stamps, dies and stencil are available now.

Don't miss your opportunities for creativity.

Cheers!

Flower Power

A creation for Little Red Wagon, where the theme was "Flower Power" this time around.

Not a whole lot of "power" in black and white, but these little gold beads for the center give this card some power.

Sometimes the hardest part is getting the little things to stick.

I hope you find some time to make something stick today.

Happy Halloween - Mixing and Matching

I've been creative, I've just been so busy with the 9 to 5 that I've not posted any creations or done any challenges.  Remedying that and posting a card I created inspired by Little Red Wagon's prompt.  And so focus on the bats . . .

I had the two striped papers as scraps on my table from a project.  I can't part with striped paper, as it makes great borders for cards.  But I also used them for my bats and really like the look that the metallic silver stripes brought to this card.

I do love mixing products from different companies together and today's project is an example of mixing and matching.  I hope you find time to mix and match today!

You and Coffee for Just Add Ink

Cleaning out my craft room and found an old card kit from Simon Says Stamp.  It caught my eye, because it was stamps and paper relative to coffee and tea. So when the challenge for Just Add Ink came up this week, I went straight to the box.

I used pattern papers and did some fussy cutting to create cut my stamped cup images and the sleeves.

And some stamping on pattern papers rounds it all out.

One day I may get smart and create like crazy with a kit . . . meaning less boxes in my craft room.

One day!

I hope you find some time to get inky today.

Taking the Positive with the Negative - Take 6

I had a goal to post more this year, and I've been failing miserably.  My goal was 100 posts in 2022, so I have a lot of time to make up.

And so why not create a card casing myself, and of course, I can't resist the opportunity to use my positive and negative die pieces.  So two cards today, inspired by Just Add Ink's Challenge 604 - Case of Yourself.

I'm casing a card I made using Lawn Fawn stamps and dies.  I posted the card here, but here is pic of it:

Instead of hearts, I went with squares.  My images were a bit larger, so I had more real estate to cover.

And instead of Valentine's Day, I went with Halloween.

I colored my images with a blender pen, and my candy corn have a coating of Liquid class.  They look more like embellishments than dies.

My scallop border had those inner squares, and I couldn't resist the opportunity to create another card with my negative images.

And for this one, I flipped things a bit and went landscape with my design.

Cutest little monsters!

These were fun to create, and Halloween is months away.

Go create!

Debbie

Little Town Inspired

It's a theme challenge at Christmas Card Throwdown, and the prompt was . . .

I have had this stamp and die set in my stash for over a year, and it's just time!  I feel as thought they were neglected, so created a little something . . .

This is the set with the little doors that align with stamped images that you can purchase to go with it.  I used another set for inside the little peek-a-boo doors.  I'm always a fan of mixing sets and companies who manufacture the sets.  Behind the doors are small sentiments, strings of holiday lights, silhouettes and faces of elves . . . all little things!

The weekend is here - and it's time to create.  I hope you find some time to fit some cut and paste into your life.

CAS Card w/Flowers

A CAS card for CAS on Friday.

I've had these stamps and the coordinating punch in my stash for a long time.  Seemed perfect for a CAS card.

I always struggle with CAS.  I have a need to put stuff everywhere.  I did my best to refrain.

Whatever you do, make time to create!

Taking the Positive with the Negativie - Take 2

I'm big on negative and positive dies, and using both to create cards.  Several weeks back I had my first post showing an example of how I use pieces from both. I'm back today to show another example.

I won't lie about this one.  Whether it's my water technique piece or just me being me, I like my negative die card better.  But here are both . . .

I started with a watercolor panel and used a die to cut.  On my positive die piece, I put sentiments on the base of my card and then popped the die on top and created a shaker card.

Yep - it's o.k.  But the negative pieces.  Never throw them away!  I love my negative piece card even more! Entering this one below in Use Your Stuff.  The inspiration there was stripes!  STRIPES!

I encourage you all to show your negative/positive die pieces! Now go create.
