SSCB #25 - Shaped Card

Hi all, it's time for another challenge over at Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog! This month we would like to see your shaped cards, using your S.S stamps or dies!

I have made a Christmas card:

I have used the stamp Snowman with Birds, coloured with pencils. The sentiment 'Merry Christmas' is also from the Serendipity Stamps shop. After colouring him in, I hand trimmed and laid to one side.

I then cut my base for my shaped card, using my fave dies from Stampin' Up!

I added some background to the bases using the Small snowflake stamped in London Fog, and added some green pleated ribbon topped with a wooden snowflake and clear gem.

TRR #66 - Shabby Christmas

Hi all, today brings us a new Monthly challenge from The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog. We have swapped from a fortnightly challenge to a monthly one, to give us all a bit more time to create with the ribbons we all love!

This month, our challenge is for a Shabby Christmas, using the colours in this beautiful picture (pink and blue) and of course use some ribbon!

I have made my card using some Papermania papers, and a poinsettia die cut from Marianne designs.

The little wooden snowflake was in my stash, and from The Ribbon Reel shop I have used Pink Button Twine and Ivory Button Twine under the poinsettias, and added a Rose Petal Pink seam binding bow to the corner.

The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps, I just hand cut the little banner and curved it up as I stuck it down.

I edged all the flowers with Tea Dye distress ink and added some pink dew drops to the centres.
The ornate frame has been cut and embossed using Spellbinders. For some Christmas Sparkle, I added some glamour dust to the Poinsettia leaves.

Pajama Party!

http://waltzingmouse.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/welcome-to-november-pajama-party.html

Hi all, I have a card today for the Waltzingmouse Stamps Pajama Party. This is a card I had made for a craft swap, but I haven't got around to blogging, so now is as good a time as any! Plus, I've run out of time to create for this month afresh, so this has come in handy!

I have used Country Labels No.4 for the label and sentiment, and some pretty papers from prima, teamed with some blue ribbon and lace.

Thanks for stopping by today, sorry it's a short and sweet one!

SSCB #24 - Gift Tag/Present

http://serendipitystampschallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/

Hi all, today brings us another challenge from Serendipity Stamps challenge Blog. This fortnight we would like to see your gift tags or gift boxes/gift holders, using your Serendipity Stamps and dies.

I've made a little treat hanger, suitable for hanging on the tree filled with some little goodies, or as a gift holder for a special someone!

To decorate my hanger I stamped the Small Snowflake in Midnight Muse ink, and cut two panels to fit.

On the other sides I used some Christmas themed paper from Echo Park featuring these cute penguins!

The gift tag is cut using a Sizziz die, backed with two die cut sizzix snowflakes, and the sentiment is also from Serendipity Stamps. I added some gems to the flakes, and shadow stampoed the little snowflake on the tag, tied with some baker's twine and topped with a blue bow.

WMFC #6

hi all, I had a little crafty play today, and checked out the new challenge over at Waltzingmouse Fanatics Challenge. This fortnight, they would like to see us be creative for Christmas , without using christmas stamps!

So I pulled out one of my new faves, Art Deco Backgrounds! I stamped the 'rainbow' background in red, green and embossed gold (although I am having problems with the embossing not taking - it shows up matt rather than shiny), and hand trimmed around the curved bottoms.

I layered them onto some Cherry Cobbler card, with a mat of Lucky Limeade. I then stamped the sentiment from Nutcracker Sweet in Cherry Cobbler ink, and edged with some decorative bits from the Art Deco Backgrounds set. Before adhering to the base, I added some green ribbon, which I thought matched the geometric style of the Art Deco, with it's little black squares.

I may go back to the drawing board with this, as it doesn't look like I had planned!

WMFC #5 - Stormy Skies

Hi all, I have a card today for this fortnight's Waltzingmouse Fanatics challenge. The Theme is a colour challenge of these stormy colours -

And here's my take:

I made a shaped easel card, using my favourite dies of the moment from Stampin' Up!.

I used the Teeny Trees set, with some suitably sormy inks in Black Soot, Weathered Wood and Stormy Sky Distress inks and S.U's Midnight Muse card and ink. I used the masking technique for my little snowy forest.

I added Silver pearl drops to the trees for some snowy accents, and some Stickles for some icy sparkle.

Sorry it's short and sweet today, I've got a much needed hair appointment in 10 minutes!

SSCB#23 - Paper Scraps

Hi all, today brings us a new challenge over at Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog. The theme for this fortnight is to use up those scraps! I don't know about you, but I have a ton of scraps, I just can't bear to part with it! Here's half of my scrap stash - yes I'm unorganised, it all just goes into a box. Then when it's full, I start a new one!

*Warning - Photo heavy Post!!*

So here are the scraps I pulled out today.

And I made a few cards with them!

For my first, I used the Serendipity Stamps Happy Birthday sentiment cut using a Spellbinders Floral frame, and mounted onto a kraft card base embossed with Swiss Dots. I then layered some papers along the bottom, and some pink satin pleated ribbon. Finally I added some Creme Liquid Pearls around the frame.

For the next card, I took a more masculine theme and I used a Houndstooth E.F, and used a strip of patterned paper topped with some brown gingham. The sentiment is Happy Birthday from the Everyday Words Horizontal Sml from Serendipity Stamps.

For my next card I made a Christmas card. I used a Tim Holtz E.F, and although I didn't have any Christmassy scraps, I had some glittery bits, so I used those for some Christmas sparkle.
The Merry Christmas Sml Sentiment is also from Serendipity Stamps.

For my next card I made a Thank You card. I used a Stampin' Up! Chevron E.F, and used some chevron scraps and plain blue card. I cut the Thank You Sml Sentiment using a Spellbinders tag die, and finally added a blue gem and some twine.

Here they are together:

For my next batch of cards, I went for a smaller scale, these are all about 4 x 4.

This card has strips of plain mustard coloured card, and strips of the red stripy card stuck directly to the base. I then cut the heart shape using the Serendipity Stamps Heart Base Die, and stamped Happy Birthday on the bottom.

For this card, I stuck strips of patterned paper to some kraft card, and cut using the S.S Heart die.
Then stamped the sentiment underneath.

For my last card I used the heart die cut from the first card, and stamped the Live Well.. sentiment in red ink. I then layered some strips of floral and stripy patterned papers onto the card base.

Here they are together:

And here all the cards are together. I hope you feel inspired to create using up some of your scraps!

Waltzingmouse Fanatics Challenge, ColourQ #213

Hi all, I'm here today with a couple of cards for two different Challenges- Waltzingmouse Fanatics Challenge, and colourQ Challenge. My first card is for the cQc, using these pretty colours:

I've made a New Home card for the creator of Waltzingmouse Stamps Claire Brennan, who has recently moved house. She also managed to host the monthly Pajama Party over on her blog during moving, no mean feat at the best of times.

I have stamped the smaller house image from A Cottage Home by WMS in Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade, the closest colours I have to the inspiration pic.

I layered the panel onto some card which was the closest colour I had to Peach Parfait, and wrapped some purple button twine along the bottom before adding the sentiment in London Fog ink  from A Cottage Home and Big Day Today set, also from WMS.

Finally I finished off with some sparkly gems.

My next card is for the Waltzingmouse Fanatics Challenge, which has a sketch for us to follow this week:

And here's my take:

I have used Two Step Sprig and Big Day Today for this card, stamping the flowers in a couple of different pinks and purples, and cutting out and layering with pop dots.

It's a fairly CAS design, but I took forever deciding how to place the flowers!!

I love this elegant sentiment., finished off with a couple of pink gems.

And that's all from me today, off out with the kids to see Thor 3, I hope it's not too scary!

TRR #65

Morning all, it's a brand new challenge over at The Ribbon Reel, and this fortnight Zuzana is our hostess, with this fabulous picture, and asks that we use the colours in the picture with ribbons and lace.

I took my inspiration from the picture, and tried to re-create the image of a cup and saucer. I used a cup image from Waltzingmouse Stamps, and paper from Papermania.

I layered the cup onto a gold Cheery Lynn filigree heart, and a white Parisian Doily, also from Cheery Lynn.

I used some more gold paper as the mat, and a little panel under the cup and saucer. I added some White crochet lace, Natural Button Twine and Royal Blue Ric-Rac topped with a Gold Wired bow, all from The Ribbon Reel shop.

Do stop by the rest of the D.T for some more elegant inspiration!

SSCB #22 - Focus on Sentiment

Hi all, it's time for a new challenge over at Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog! This fortnight we would like to see you focus on sentiment - using your Serendipity Stamps of course!

I have made a Sympathy card using the lovely sentiment 'Angels..' using Wisteria Wonder ink and card - I thought the colour was suitably soothing.

I stamped the 'Feather Background' in Wisteria Wonder, and layered with some Spellbinders die cuts.
I added a small flourish with some white roses and tiny little lilac flowers, and some grey pearls to the corners.

This week's sale is 20% off the Words and Verse Category which runs until October 30th.
