WMSC #112

Here I am again, LATE as usual! LOL! 5 days and counting until my little darlings return to school, and I can get back into my usual routine!

Heres's the fabby Waltzingmouse Sketch, this week designed by Mona Pendleton:

And here's my take:

I have used a variety of WMS stamps - Text It for the background in the Gothic script, Hocus Pocus for the beautiful Bat Wreath design on the middle panel, and the railing strips under it. Halloween Party for the bats and pumpkins, and sentiment, and the jar is the single Candy Jar.

The background is stamped in Old Paper and Frayed Burlap distress ink, and the Pumpkins were stamped using Versamark and the new ink from Memento Potters Clay, then embossed them with clear powder, cut out and arranged in the black embossed jar. I layered this onto a doily cut using Spellbinders Ironwork Motifs, and wrapped some dark brown twine around the middle panel.

All edges were distressed with Tea Dye and Vinrtage Photo Distress Inks. I added some little green stems to the top of some pumpkins, and added some green ink to their eyes and mouths for a spooky look.

I would like to enter this into Tuesday Throwdown - Use a Colour you don't normally use - I very rarely use orange or black! And Craft Your Passions - Embossing, I have embossed the Jar, sentiment and pumpkins.

Thanks for stopping by today,

Pauline

CR84FN #62 - Week 2

Morning all, it's week two over at CR84FN using these lovely colours of Aqua, Tan and Cream.

I have decorated a corrugated kraft gift box, for a friend's upcoming birthday next month - now all I have to do is buy a trinket to go inside it  :-)

I have wrapped two lengths of aqua silky ribbon around the middle (a gift from my good blog buddy Helen), and topped this off with some tan coloured Alencon lace from The Ribbon Reel.

The sentiment label has been created using a Stampin' Up! punch in Pool Party and Very Vanilla card stock, and stamped with a Decorative labels stamp also from S.U!.

Finally I added some cream pearls, and it's good to go!

Do stop by the rest of the design team for some fabulous inspiration!

WMSC #111

Hi all, I have a card today for this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge.

Here's the sketch:

And here's my take:

I have used some Very Vanilla card, and clear embossed the pretty doilies from Dainty Doilies Large set, before using the resist embossed technique with Milled Lavender Distress ink.

I then embossed in white embossing powder the gorgeous heart from Seasons of Love, onto some purple card, and cut with my nesties.

I then cut a small oval in Very Vanilla, and stamped the sentiment from Fancy Phrases in some new Memento ink in Elderberry. I topped the heart with a natural and purple button twine bows, white paper rose and lilac blossoms all from The Ribbon Reel.

I layered the stamped panel onto some silver mirri card, wrapped some lilac lace and cream frogging ribbon around, and assembled all together. Finally I added some purple gems for a little sparkle.

I'm late again, but I've been away this week in the New Forest visiting my in-laws - my eldest daughter is on a Guides trip to Switzerland and is not back until Sunday, and my hubby was in San Fransico for work, and he returned yesterday and so did we. Whilst he was there, he hired a bike, (he's a keen cyclist) and fell off! Thankfully, nothing broken, but he has a nasty scrape from his knee to his ankle, and its still very sore. Men! I'm just hoping my daughter returns in one piece!

I would also like to enter this into the following challenges:

Craft Your Passions - I've used 3 gems and 3 flowers, an 3 types of ribbon/twine

Some Exciting News & Serendipity Stamps Blog Hop

Hi all, today I am so thrilled to be able to share that I am now a part of the fabulous Design Team for Serendipity Stamps

I was amazed when Mary asked if I would be a part of her team, and of course I said yes! I am also joining along with two other new team members at Serendipity Stamps, whom I have come to know through various blog challenges, and if you're a regular visitor here, you will be familiar with these very talented ladies too!

Cathy Weber and Helen Berry!!

For our first blog hop, we were asked to make a Centre Step Card.

I have used the beautiful floral butterfly from the Floral Butterfly stamp and Die set.

I first cut the butterfly in Very Vanilla card three times using the solid outline die, then stamped the butterfly in Brilliance Blue ink, and embossed with clear powder.

I then created my card base using Bashful Blue card stock. I cut a small vanilla panel, and dry embossed with the PTI Linen texture plate, and assembled the triple layered butterfly on top.

I then cut some borders for the sides using the long border from Spellbinders Persian Accents die, and the sentiment label from the same set.

The sentiment is from Everyday Words - small Sentiment set from Serendipity Stamps, stamped in London fog.

To finish off, I added some ecru vintage lace (a gift from my friend Helen) and cream mini pom pom trim from the Ribbon Reel. I added some blue gems for some pretty sparkle.

And this week, there is a wonderful Special deal over at Serendipity Stamps -  a 40% Off coupon which gives 40% off the most expensive item in the shopping cart.   The coupon code is 40FROMHIGH  The coupon expires August 29th. So, what are you waiting for?!

Here are the rest of the names on the blog hop, do go and visit these very talented ladies for some fab inspirations!

I took the colours used in the photo, and cut some co-ordinating papers from Craft Creations edged with a Martha Stewart edger punch.

I layered some white crochet lace and blue gingham ribbon both from The Ribbon Reel above the panels of layered papers.

I then cut some pennants using a Stampin' Up! punch, stamped with greetings from PTI Tiny Tags set.

Finally I added some cream mini pom pom trim and some bakers twine bows, also from The Ribbon Reel.

CR84FN # 61

Good morning all, today see's a new challenge at CR84FN, Aqua, Tan and Cream. Yum!

I was very lucky to win a beautiful sentiment stamp from Flourishes last month, and I just couldn't wait to ink it up!

I have used some aqua swiss dot Bazzil, layered onto some kraft Bazzill card. The card base is Stampin' Up! Very Vanilla, cut to size.

I stamped the test style stamp by Hero Arts onto a Very Vanilla panel, in Antique linen distress ink, and stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Rich Cocoa onto a die cut kraft circle.

I layered a snowflake die cut by Marianne designs in aqua underneath the sentiment panel, and a Cheery Lynn die cut flourish.

I added a little Tilda chipboard crown topped with some aqua gems onto an aqua seam binding bow, and some tan and aqua cherry blossoms from The Ribbon Reel. Finally I added some cream pearls to the sentiment panel, and some stickles to the blossoms and flourish.

WMS Blog Party & WMSC

Hi all, I have a card for this week's WMSC, and an entry for this evening's WMS Blog party.

I've used a variety of Waltzingmouse Stamps, I'll pop back later and update, as I'm off out in a minute with the kids, and time is running away from me this week1

I have used Very Vintage Labels 10, and stamped the larger label in a purple chalk ink. Cut with Nestabilities Labels 10, and set aside. I then stamped 2 more labels, in S.U Certainly Celery ink using Very Vintage Labels 18, cut with Nestabilities and set aside.

I stamped the rose image from Roses in Bloom in Milled Lavender Distress ink to try my hand at the invisible lines technique. Maybe I should have tried an image that required less shading, as the first four (yes, four!) attempts ended up in the bin! I couldn't get the shading right, and I'm still not happy with the end result, but I ran out of time for a sixth attempt!

I cut some leaves using a Spellbinders die and some S.U Very Vanilla card stock, slightly distressed with Old Olive distress ink.

I used Certainly Celery card for the main base, embossed with PTI linen embossing plate.

The sentiment is from Compact Sentiments, stamped in Dusty Concorde ink.
The ruffled seam binding is from The Ribbon reel, and gems are from my stash.
Butterflies are an M.S punch using some scrap paper from a different project, it fitted nicely with my colour scheme.

Pauline
