CR84FN 17, Stamptacular Sunday, Sunday Sketch and Stamp

Hi lovely people, I didn't think I would have time to craft today, but whaddya know - the weather is terrible again, so kiddies and daddy are tucked up watching Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade, so I get some crafty time!!

Every Sunday there is a new colour challenge over at CR84FN, Stamptacular Sunday which have a variety of challenges and Sunday Sketch and Stamp have a great sketch today. So with a few hours of relative crafty bliss, I flexed my mojo and stamped away to my hearts content. Aaaah, that's better!

Here is the inspiration:

Beautiful colours *sigh*!

Fabby sketch! For my card I have rotated the sketch 90'.

And here's my take:

Seeing as how Easter is around the corner, I thought I'd get ahead and start on some cards.

I had got the Easter themed Spring Baskets from Waltzingmouse Stamps, late last year and hadn't really had the chance to use the egg or basket stamps.

I stamped the eggs and basket (two separate stamps in Memento Rich Cocoa, and coloured them with Promarkers.

Then using a background from Pic-Nic Patterns, stamped in Dew Drop Bamboo leaves the background panel.

The sentiment is from the Spring Baskets set , stamped in an ink I've had for ages but there's no name on it!

Layered both the sentiment and basket onto some green bazzill cut with my Nestabilities Squares Sml, Lacy Squares and Fancy Tags.

Layered them altogethe and adhered to some pink bazzill card, threaded some polka dot pink ribbon through the sentiment tag, and attached to a pearlescent card base.

Finally added some pearls to the top right hand corner and sentiment.

I really love how this card turned out, the colours are fabulous together, so thanks to Mona Pendleton and her wonderful DT for the inspiration!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

So that's it from me, must tidy away my stash and start on a yummy roast dinner.

CR84FN 16, Less is More

Hi all I have a card today for two challenges, CR84FN 16 and Less is More. CR84FN is a colour inspiration challenge, and I've missed the last couple due to my mojo taking a dive, but I have been so inspired by the new Less is More challenge blog, that I feel rejuvenated! I'm not naturally a CAS girl, I've always been fussy and fancy! Still not sure if I have it right but here goes.

The CR84FN want these fabulous spring colours:

And this weeks Less is More wants Spring themed - so technically there are no Spring type images or sentiment on my card, but I'm hoping the spring like colours will qualify.

And here is my take:

I have used a white linen card base, and cut a small square using my Nestabilities Small Squares.

Then using the same die, cut two more squares and stamped them with a little block from Waltzingmouse Stamps Say it With Style set in Memento London Fog and Angel Pink.
The pink square looks wonky in this pic, but it must be a trick of the light or something, it's not in real life!

Then under the aperture on the inside of the card I stamped the same block in a purple/lilac ink.

Added the sentiment to the front, and married it up with another sentiment inside, both from Waltzingmouse Stamps Frame-it set.

Finally added some glossy accents to parts of the blocks and covered with glamour dust.

I felt it looked a bit too CAS on the front, and added some gems to the top left hand corner. Not sure why it didn't look right to me - I think it could be (looking at it in hindsight) the focal point is in the bottom quarter of the card rather than a third, thereby making it a bit too top heavy with the white space. What do you think?

I may try this card again but with different dimensions, and possibly the sentiment on the front should be a bit closer to the blocks.

Thanks for stopping by, and I appreciate all your comments!

WMSC #35, Less is More

Hi all, I have a card this evening for two challenges - the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge, and the new Less is More Challenge. I have missed the last couple of WMSC challenges, so I thought I'd get in today while my mojo has the motor running!

Here's the sketch:

And here's my take:

I have used a pearlescent card base, and run half of it through the swiss dots folder.

Then using the star image from WMS Seasons of Love set I have stamped in versamrk and embossed with white pearls embossing powder onto some turquoisey patterened paper that I got last year from the craft show at Newbury Racecourse - it was in a mixed pack from an independant seller so I don't have the manufacturer's name. Cut out using my Nestabilities star shapes.

Stamped a circle from WMS Vintage Circles in Turquoise Gem, and cut using my nesties circles small.

Adhered the stamped flower image, coloured with promarkers, from WMS Spring Baskets and added some Ice stickles for some shimmer.

Tied a bow and attached to the top of the star with a button I rescued from a Christmas card.
Then I made a boo-boo.

I stamped the sentiment straight onto the card, BUT I smudged it with my hand as I applied the stickles! I was so cross I could have cried, as everything had been stuck down already! Grrrr!

What a wally. So I stamped the sentiment again and added the little butterfly to the little panel, but really I would have preferred not to have had to use this! Live and Learn don't we?

Finally I corner chomped the edges, and I am happy, but not delighted with it. Next time, I'll apply the stickles first!

Less is More, Charisma Cardz

Hi all today I have a card for the fab new challenge blog Less is more. This week they want to see our spring creations, so I made this:

I'm also entering this into Charisma Cardz which wants spring creations too.

I have used a white linen card base, and stamped the circle image from Waltzingmouse Stamps Vintage Circles in a lilac ink that was my first ever ink pad from Tesco of all places!

Stamped the sentiment from the Spring Baskets set in the same ink, and stamped the little butterflies and bees in Distress inks Weathered Wood, Victorian Velvet and Milled Lavender.

Stamped the flower image also from the same stamp set, coloured with Promarkers and cut out: I actually made two of these, but decided Less is more ha ha!!

Well it's raining cats and dogs here, and I've got 3 kids to entertain!

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

PDCC, WMSC #33, I just LOVE Cupcakes!..

Hi lovely people, hope that you are having a good start to the week? It's a beautiful bright sunny day here, if a tad chilly, and my eldest daughter is off school with a chest infection, so she's tucked up warm on the sofa watching Twilight! Yes, she is a Twilight addict now, she's just read the first 3 novels in about 3 weeks, just the one to go!

Anyway, I took the opportunity to rustle up a little something for The Play Date Cafe Challenge, and followed the fab sketch from Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. I'm also entering this card into The Prairie Fairy Challenge which wants something for a sweetheart - it's my valentine card for my hubby :-) and Stampin for the Weekend, which wants Valentines.

Here is the colour inspiration:

And here is my take:

I have used the cupcake image from WMS Frame It! set, and stamped it in a variety of colourways until I was happy with the mix. Stamped the frame from the same set, added the sentiment from a WMS set and the 'cupcakes' part is from a Papermania set, the exclamation mark and full stop is from the Victorian Alphabet set also by WMS.

A close up of the sparkle I added using Glossy Accents and a teeny bit of glamour dust.

Added the sentiment inside using the punctuation as above, and the sentiment from 2 different WMS sets.

More sparkle, it's such a sunny day I couldn't resist!

Supplies used:

Stamps: Frame-It!, Fancy Phrases, Victorian Alphabet and Sweethearts sets all by Waltzingmouse stamps; Summer Bloom Picnic set by Papermania.
Card White Linen from stash.
Inks:Memento Grape Jelly, Rose Bud and Lady Bug; Versamagic Night Sky.

Have a sweet day, I'm off for a bit of cake yum yum!

WMSC #33, CR84FN 13

Hi all today I have a card for two challenges, Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge and CR84FN colour challenge.

Here is the inspiration:

And here is my take:

When I saw the colour inspiration and wonderful graphic, I immediately wanted to ink up the lovely cupcake image from the Frame-it set by Watzingmouse stamps. And the sketch challenge this week made me think of using the long frame from the same set, so job done!

I have used some sweet backing papers by Wild Rose Studio and the sparkly pink paper is from my stash.

The cake has been stamped in Rich Cocoa, distress ink Victorian Velvet and Versamagic Rosebud Pink.

Topped it off with some glossy accents and some fine bright pink glitter which went everywhere!

The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps Sweethearts set, curved around to fit in the dotted frame from WMS Fancy Phrases set stamped in Rich Cocoa, and sentiment in rosebud Pink.

Finally added a pale pink pearly heart.

Now feeling srumptiously sweet!

Thanks for looking, have a great Sunday.

Hi all, I have a card for the Anyone For Anya Challenge, based on the sketch below:

And here is my take:

I have kept to the sketch, it worked well, and it's one I will use again!

This Anya is coloured with Promarkers, layered onto some patterned paper edged with a Martha Stewart punch and turquoise bazzill, and a pice of white linen card embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and softly run over with a chalk ink pad in pale blue. Finished off with some flowers and some candy dots.

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend

WMSC #32, Flutterby Wednesday

Hi all, I have a card tonight for the Waltzingmouse sketch challenge, and the Flutterby Wdnesday Challenge.

Here's the sketch:
I have used a white linen card base, and embossed some white linen card with a cuttlebug folder.

Have used some lilac gingham and some lavender ink around the edges of the panel.

Then using Musical Backgrounds from Waltzingmouse Stamps, have stamped a variety of the stamps in distress inks: Black Soot, Milled Lavender and Victorian Velvet. Then cut a variety of butterflies using two Martha Stewart punches and a butterfly die cutter by Little Claire.

The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps Asian gardens, and the label is hand drawn and cut (must get a tag shaped die cutter!) stamped over some Musical Background again using Distrss Inks Black Soot and Milled Lavender.

Attached tag to ribbon with pearly lilac brad and wrapped some purple thin ribbon around it, assembled and added some gems.

Alll the butterflies are popped up onto foam tape, and the top butterfly has 3 layers attached with Glossy Accents.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great upcoming weekend!

OLW 39, CC308, The Stamp Man

Hi all, it's another grey cold day here, I can't wait until spring!

I have a card today for two challenges which are new to me. I had heard of One layer Wednesday challenge a while back, but had not gotten around to making a card in time for it! This week, OLW is asking for a card using an image, a border stamp and some bling.

And over on Splitcoast Stampers, Julia Aston is hosting the Colour Challenge over the next few months. Julia has chosen some soothing neutral shades in Whisper White, River Rock and Basic Grey.

I am also entering this card into The Stamp Man challenge, which wants Oriental, and as I have used Asian Gardens stamp set, it fits!

I am in a bit of a 'soothing' mood, so here is my interpretation - I have had to use slightly different colours as I don't currently own any Stampin Up cardstock or inks.

I have used a white linen card base, and stamped the border stamp from Waltzingmouse Stamps Asian Garden in Memento London Fog.

From the same stamp set, I have stamped the bare branch image in Khaki Green by Ink it Up!, and stamped some flowers in London Fog and Khaki Green.

The sentiment is also from the same set, stamped in Walnut Stain distress ink. Finally added some gems to the centre of the flowers.

I really enjoyed making this card, it simply fell together, and the colours do make for a soothing card.

Thanks for stopping by,

Pauline xx
