WMSC #4

Hi Bloggers, I have today a card made for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. Using the sketch, and inspiration from a card I made last week for a different challenge (see here if you are interested!) this is what I came up with:



Using my new paper stack from DCWV, called Nana's Kitchen, I cut 4 labels using Nestabilities Labels 12 and inked around the edges with Versamagic Chalk ink in Sage.


I then stamped the lace circle from WMS Faux Fun Circles in London Fog onto some pale patterned paper, and hand cut out as I wanted to show up the little stitches a bit more - not sure if it worked! Inked the edges again in Sage.



Layered the squares onto some pale patterned paper and adhered to a cream pearlescent base card. Inked all the edges with, yep, Sage! I love this colour!

Stamped the sentiment from Sewing Box Hugs stamp set in Distress Ink Weathered Wood, and layered the circle up on some foam pads.

Then using Stickles in Ice I traced around all the edges of the lace circle, and added a clear gem to the middle of each lace image.

Finally some green gems in two shades in the corners, I just couldn't leave this card alone !! In hindsight, I would have preferred to layer up the lace circle again, in fact I may just go and do that now......!

New Home Card for WMSC#3

Hi all, I have another card for the WMSC #3, it's such a lovely sketch and I needed to make a New Home card for one of my best friends.


I have used a scalloped card by Papermania, and some lovely paper by DCWV Nana's kitchen. I stamped the house from WMS Sewingbox Hugs onto 3 different patterned pieces, and layered them up. I them randomly stamped the Home Sweet Home sentiment onto the beige coloured paper, and cut a panel from that.


I then stamped the same sentiment onto some lilac ribbon, and spent a very long time trying to tie a decent bow!

Using a Martha Stewart edger, I added a pink bazzill panel to the card, and layered it all together. Added some glossy accents and loads of gems, cos I like the bling!


Couldn't resist the heart from this same set and the sentiment again for the inside. Makes me want to move house!

Card Patterns Sketch, and a few other Challenges....

Hi All, today I have another card made using Waltzingmouse Stamps. I have followed the sketch from Card Patterns Weekly blog using this sketch:



And here is my take:




I have used a fab sentiment from WMS Afternoon Tea Sentiments, and the little cups and teapot from Afternoon Tea set. The cups and teapot are stamped in London Fog, and the sentiment is stamped in Distress Ink Black Soot.



I couldn't resist adding some glossy accents to them, it's my new fave product!



The paper flowers are Kaisercraft, as are the gems, and all papers are DCWV Nana's Kitchen and Nana's Nursery girl.

Finally finished off the inside with some cups stamped in Memento Angel Pink, and another sweet sentiment in London Fog.

Cupcake Inspirations #64, The Play Date Cafe, The Crazy Challenge, Charizma Cards Challenge.

Hi all, today I have a card for a few challenges I found whilst hopping around. It's Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #64, The Crazy Challenge, The Play Date Cafe, and Charisma Cards Challenge, and here's the inspiration :




And here's my inspired card :



I have used a cream pearlescent card base, and a paper stack by Papermania called Chatsworth Vintage Collection.

Using Nestabilities Labels 1, cut several labels using different papers from the pack. Then using Nesties Labels 4, cut 2 more labels in the base card and the teal paper.

Stamped the chandelier image using a co-ordinating stamp set from Papermania onto the smaller Label 4, and layered all onto the card.

Added some teal rhinestones and flower by Kaisercraft, and some stickles, distressed around the edges with some Sahara Sand chalk ink, and added the sentiment from Waltzingmouse Stamps Roses in Boom set.

WMSC 3

Hi all, I have today an entry for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. It's a Father's Day card for my husband, I have to confess that I completely forgot about this important day what with all the shenanigans of last week!
Here's the sketch :


And here's my take:




I have used a piece of dark green pearlescent cardstock for the card base, and layered different patterned papers together to make a panel, and cut an aperture in the panel using Nestabilities Labels 11. Attached that to the card, and cut another label in gold cardstock, and die-cut the word DAD in brown metallic Bazzill using a Sissix alphabet and the Sissix Side-Kick.



I Stamped the sentiment using Fancy Phrases by WMS and Memento Rich Cocoa. The sentiment strip on the paper says 'Fathers build dreams out of paper aeroplanes', but I had to cut the end off. Stamped 3 little hearts from the Earthangel set, also by WMS. Filled in 2 of the hearts with Ranger Glossy Accents, and added a heart shaped rhinestone to the middle heart.



Instead of a big girly bow, I added a shell shaped button, and tied a little bow through it, so hope fully it won't dent his manly pride lol!

I used some of the patterned paper inside edged with a Martha Stewart edger punch and some more patterned paper.

Finally finished off with some gold stickles around the scalloped ends of the window in the panel, which I should have done before I stuck the DAD label on top!

A VERY Late Blog Waltz!!!

Hi fellow Waltzers, I am very late in posting this, life I am afraid has just got in the way - not to mention pesky husbands, pesky mid-life birthdays, and pesky other stuff!!!

Anyhow, I think I have recovered from the shock of turning 40 this week, (I can't believe it, there must be some mistake!), and think I have got all the partying and celebrating out of the way, and finally finally made a card! Phew!

Based on nothing in particular, it's for my lovely hubby who has spoilt me rotten this week.




Using the Labels 5 set, I repeatedly stamped one of the beautiful flourishes onto some gold cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black. I stamped the label onto the same card with the same ink, cut out and layered it onto a textured card, which I bought from my local craft shop in their reduced bin, so not sure what the make is.

The sentiment is from Say it With Style stamp set, still one of my favourites, and one that I use most often.




Corner chomped the edges, added some rhinestones, layered it up, and good to go!

WMSC 2

Hello blogland, thanks for stopping by today, I have another card for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Blog. Another fun sketch, last week's was a real treat, I'm so glad that Claire has added this particular feather to her cap!

Here is the sketch:

For the label I have used Very Vintage Labels 10 set, stamped in Sage Versamagic chalk ink. The sentiment from Fancy Phrases is stamped in Distress ink Weathered Wood, onto the smallest die cut from Nestabilities labels 10, which I sponged with Versamagic Chalk ink in Aspen Mist.



The panel underneath the label is a pale green pearlescent card, stamped alternately using the scroll border from the Say it With Style set, with Sage and Aspen Mist, and trimmed with a Martha Stewart edger punch.

The beautiful paper under neath is a Laura Ashley print (I believe, I bought it from my local craft shop on their odds and ends table so think it's from a broken pack) so I'm sorry I don't know the name of the pack. It inspired my choice of colours for this card, and incredibly, it really looks like fabric, I hope I can find some more of it, as it was the only sheet I could buy at the time. Mounted this paper onto some glitter card, and corner chomped. Then mounted that panel onto a Bazzill card base.

The ribbon is from stash, and I thought I would leave the ends unfixed for a bit of interest, and it's not something I have done before.

The two white paper roses are from my local craft shop, with a bit of Stickles added to the petals, and the fabric roses are from my local Haberdashery shop, and the centres of them have a very sparkly crystal, although it's not very clear in the photo. I just couldn't get them at the right angle to catch the light.


Finally the inside of the card was made using the stamped scroll (as before), and the stamped frame this time stamped in Weathered Wood onto pearlescent blue card.

WMSC 1 - Decisions Decisions...

Ooooh it's so exciting, Waltzingmouse Stamps have their very own challenge blog! Whooo - hoooo!!! I love Claire's designs, and I hope to own a few more in July when she releases some new sets.

So, today I have not just one card, but two! I just couldn't choose which to post , so in the end I thought I would post both of them!

Here is the sketch:

The first is a card using Afternoon Tea and Afternoon Tea Sentiments. I have used some paper from a stack by DCWV Nana's Nursery (Boy), and the green card is from a Martha Stewart pack I got when I was in Florida last year - yes I went mad in Michaels!


I have repeatedly stamped the little cup in a green ink by Whispers, and the sentiments are stamped in London Fog (Memento Ink). The lovely large pearl button was a gift from a friend, and the floral blue button was in a mixed pack from my local craft shop Flutterby Crafts. The Rhinestones are by Kaisercraft.


My next card is made using the same sets, but I have used some lovely Nook and Pantry paper by Basic Grey. The spoons, cups and sentiment are all stamped in London Fog, and the sentiment banner is again using Martha Stewart card. The blue pearls I added on a whim, as I felt it looked a bit empty in the middle. I have added some stickles to the cupcake (cut from a design in the Nook and Pantry stack) and the tea in the cups, cos I love a bit of bling!
