Hi all, I'm here today with a card that has been nearly a week in the making! I have made my very first Steampunk style card!! I have recently fallen in love with the gorgeous images by Rick St. Dennis, and he has a wealth of Steampunk images to choose from.
This month's new challenge over at the Rick St. Dennis Progressive Challenge is Steampunk, so I just had to have a browse in this category, and, well, let's just say more than one image fell in my cart Lol!!
Today I am using Aerocruiser for Lady B - I see her as an imperious Lady, observing her minions below, she looks a tad grumpy (I think it's the way I coloured her, I used pencils and had a bit of slip with the lips!).
I coloured her in the earlier part of the week, then was a bit stumped as to how to mount her. I had a rummage in my stash, and found a Steampunk themed embossing folder, some screw head brads, and I bought some little cogs to use too. I know I have some steampunk style paper somewhere in my stash, but I haven't a clue where!
Here's a close up of her - I fussy cut the image with my craft knife, my finger still tingles, it went almost flat!
For the background, I used the embossing folder on some green card, and rubbed some Versamark over the top - my intention was to emboss the raised parts only, but I got the ink all over it. However, I like this too, I think it looks like burnished leather. I then distressed around the edges, and set aside.
I cut a brown mat to size and distressed around the edges, added the cogs to the gold embossed panel, and layered together.
I used this sentiment from Kaisercraft, embossed in gold, and cut using a Spellbinders nestie. I added the brads befor adhering to the panels, along with Lady B.
The card base is green Bazzill - I added some Aged Gold Frantage embossing powder to the edges, before adhering the entire panel to the base. Then inside I added a gold glitter layer, and topped it with an embossed Color Core'dinations brown panel using the same folder as on the front, then sanded back the raised areas. Then i used some stamps from Uniko Studios for the sentiment and cogs and clocks, and sponged the edges with some Antique Linen distress ink.
Well, it took me longer than I thought, mainly because I had never made a steampunk project before, and spent a lot of time thinking lol!!
There is still a week to enter the challenge, so I may use another image and create again, but I better get my (steampunk) skates on!

Pauline

Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog
Hi all, it's time for week 2 of this month's SSCB challenge which is to use flowers on your creations, along with your Serendipity stamps or dies too!
I have made a card featuring one of the newly released stamps Aprons.
I have stamped it in Versamark, and embossed with white E.P, then coloured using my Distress Ink Pens, and watercolouring the image.
The effect is so soft and pretty, I am slowly getting used to my pens. I added some matching flowers to the corner, and topped them with stickles for a bit of shimmer.

Art Deco Elagance..
Happy sunny Sunday all! What a beautiful weekend we are experiencing here in the U.K! This morning I made a card for the Rick St. Dennis Facebook Group challenge, which is anything goes, and runs out on the 21st May.
I have used the very beautiful and elegant lady called Deco la Scala 1931. I coloured her with Promarkers a little while ago, and finally got round to getting her onto a card today.
I have used some Art Deco style papers from Docrafts, and used Art Deco style dies from Spellbinders for the side accents, corners and little sentiment label. The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps Putting on the Ritz set, a suitably Art Deco themed stamp set.
For some extra sparkle, I added some black gems to the corners, and as the papers are foiled I left it at that.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Sister Act Card Challenge
Crafty Girls Challenge
Through the Craftroom Door Challenge

Serendipity Stamps Blog Hop!
Hi all, I'm here today with some cards for a new release over at Serendipity Stamps. This week has seen the release of some fabulous new dies, some words and a lovely frame set.
For my first creation I have made a baby card.
For this card I have used the following dies: Solid Heart Outline die, Baby die, and the corner frames from Floral Frames and Embellishments set.
There is one bigger half frame die, and a smaller corner which I have used here.
The pretty papers are from a Tilda stack, and flowers are from my stash.
For my next card, I have made a card that could be used for a student finishing their studies, or beginning new studies, or someone on a new career path!
For this card I have used the following dies: Dream, Floral Frame & Embellishments dies, and the Solid Heart Outline die.
The fonts for these word dies are beautiful aren't they? And the floral frame is set to become a staple in my little box of dies.
I cut the little butterfly and dragonfly (they match the larger dies too), and cut a second one of each and trimmed the wings to layer on top.
For my next card I have made a greeting card, for general use, a Hello to someone you haven't seen for a while, or miss.
For this card I used the frames from Floral Frames and Embellishments set, Hello die, Owl die and Solid Owl die, and the Pumpkin die.
The elegant papers are from a Creative Expressions paper stack.
And here they are all together.
Here is the order of the blog hop:

Pacifica
Hi all, I'm sharing a card today, using a beautiful mermaid image from Rick St. Dennis called Pacifica. I have recently discovered Rick St. Dennis' artwork, and I have fallen in love with them big time!! He has something to suit all tastes, and my favourites are his elegant ladies, and beautiful mermaids. She is absolutely beautiful, and I couldn't wait to colour her in. I used Promarkers and Flexmarkers to colour her.
I hand trimmed her out, and cut a frame backing from some Prima papers and plain green card using my new Tonic dies. I then cut a rectangular panel of the Prima paper, and layered some hessian and gold flecked lace.
The little fishes I cut from some Webster's Pages paper, and the 'seaweed' is leafy trim from The Ribbon Reel, as is the hessian ribbon.
The sentiment is from Stampin' Up!, and to finish off the card, I added lots of pearls and some sparkly gems. If I had some little shells or something sea themed in my stash I would have added them, so something for me to go and buy haha!
I am entering this into the Facebook Rick St.Dennis Group challenge, which is for anything goes.
I would like to enter this into I Love Promarkers challenge, Not Quite Straight, Feeling Crafty Challenge For The Girls, and Crafty Catz Anything but a Square, and Papercrafting Journey Spots or stripes - I have used a spotted backing paper.
