Mother's Day

Hi everyone,
I hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend.
We've had a few days above freezing and it's amazing how much snow has disappeared...yeah!  bring on Spring. I can even see a few crocus poking their heads up.

I thought I would share a card with you today that I made for my niece who as I mentioned in an earlier post has adopted a young boy.

I've used a lovely digital stamp from ADFD called A Rose For Mom

No embellishments added because it needed to be mailed but I'm happy with the simplicity.

Bridal Shower

Happy Saturday everyone,

Hope this finds you well and enjoying a lovely Summer weekend.

Last Saturday I attended a bridal shower for my Cousin's Son's fiancée and what a fun time.
The maid-of-honor and bridesmaids did a fabulous job of creating a memorable day for everyone, especially the bride-to-be.  It was my first time meeting her and she is lovely....can't wait for the wedding.
I wanted to make a special card to accompany the gift and here is what I came up with.

I've used an ADFD digi called Wedding Veil, coloured with Copics, fussy cut and added a piece of white netting over the veil.  Rhinestones placed where the dots on the image are located and yes, the not-so-straight sewing is silver thread.

The tag is a Magnolia die, sentiment done in Word.
Flowers from Michaels...a Recollection product.
Leaves are a PoppyStamps die called Gentle Leaf
Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder
Silver netting cut from a 12x12 sheet from Michaels
Sequin ribbon from Fabricland
Two dies used behind the image are SB Radiant Rectangles

 Box was made 6 3/4"  x 6 3/4"
White paper was embossed with SU Elegant Bouquet embossing folder then matted on pale blue cardstock, then added to Pearlized white DP.  White string pearls were added around the edge.  I use api's Crafter's Pick incredibly tacky glue - great for sticking flowers on as well.

I will be entering the following challenges:
  1. Papertake Weekly Challenge: Old swiss dot folder, New leaf die, Blue flower.
  2. Make it Monday #148
  3. Charisma Cardz Challenge #27 - No designer papers
  4. Creative Fingers Challenge - Anything Goes
  5. Sister Act Card Challenge #15 - Anything Goes

All of a Flutter.....and a little Fran-táge

Good morning everyone,

Friday at last! I do hope you've something special planned for the weekend!

I've got some wonderful crafty news to share with you today...
...a few weeks ago I was selected to be a part of the fabulous
Totally Papercrafts Challenge
... and after I picked myself off the floor, I of course said YES.
I'm so honoured and excited to be a part of this great challenge.

Our lovely host this week is the fabulous Debs and she has chosen the theme
"All of a Flutter".  Here is the card I made.

Our wonderful sponsor this week is Ladybug Crafts Ink
and they are offering a fabulous £10 Prize gift certificate to the winner.

Now when I think of flutter....I think of Fairies and this image is one of my favourites. She is called "Wings" and is an ADFD digi.   This is my first time using Fran-táge.  I know...I'm a late bloomer but I really do try not to buy EVERYTHING!   I found it easy to use and I really like the outcome...you might just see more of it in the days to come.

I've used a Cheery Lynn Doily called Large Sunflower.  The shape is a Go Kreate Square Frame #260030 Frilly #10.  Image cut out using SB Romantic Rectangles. Banner is a Hanglar Stamp, with flowers and lace from WOC.   I used Hero Arts Prisma Glitter, Art Glitter #162 Just Peachy and Jewel Glitter Ritz, Sand on the wings. Now if you've hung around to the end of this very long post...I thank you so much. Hope you get a chance to stop by the challenge and see what fabulous creations my team mates have come up with.

Colour Inspiration at Love to Create Challenge - GDT

Hi everyone,

It's a very exciting day for me here.....awhile back I was asked to GD for the fabulous
Love to Create Challenge and of course said yes :)  Today's the day I get to show you what I've made.
Thank you so much for having me...it's an honour.

The awesome A Day for Daisies (ADFD) are the sponsor for this Challenge #71 and supplied us with our digi's.  I've used "Blessing the Spring Fairy" and she can be found here.  The theme is a colour inspiration.

This beauty was coloured with Copics. DP is Graphic 45 and the feather is from Bella Blvd. Spellbinders Grand Circles and Grand Decorative Circles One dies used.

The seam binding was dyed using SU Certainly Celery ink, misted with water.   Lace ribbon and flower are from WOC but the flower ribbon is a Tim Holtz.    DecoArt Glamour Dust used on her wings.

Here is the box I made to hold the card.
It measures 7x7 and is 1/2 inch deep.
The doily square was cut using MS Punch-        Around-The-Page. I cut 2 MB Bella Bouquet dies, added a large white feather and rhinestone swirls to the top.  Another bow made from seambinding and WOC flowers as well as one from the $ Store.   I put ribbon from Michaels around the edge of the box.

Here are the challenges I  would like to enter:

Belli Challenge #157 - Thankful/Gratitude

Good morning everyone and Happy Thanksgiving to those who are celebrating tomorrow.
This is the first of 2 posts for me today....I've been busy!

We have a new challenge starting at the Belli Challenge
and this time the theme Darsie has chosen is
Thankful/Grateful

I've coloured a digi from ADFD called Holding a Flower.
I must confess...I've had her for a few months but this is the first time she's been coloured.
I hope you like the result.

I added a raffia ribbon and topped it with a black stitched ribbon from Michaels.
I pulled out my Spellbinders Beaded Circles, cut and dry embossed them, then added a bit of Versamark to the beads.   The button is from an old BG set tied with some very old Irish linen thread from my dear Mom's sewing box.  She was a great crafter and loved to sew.   I have not inherited that gene....it's all I can do to sew a straight line on my cards.  The sentiment was added in word.  I've used Glamour Dust on her wings and she has been coloured with Copics.

Here is a closeup of this cutie.

I expect to enter the following challenges:
My Sheri Crafts Challenge #98 - Give Thanks
Di's Digi Designs - Show us those Fall Colours
ADFD Challenge #57 -  Autumn colors

Sweet Music

Hello lovely bloggers,

Tonight I have a quick CAS card for you.   I've used a free digital from ADFD that is offered if you participate in their current challenge, which is my intent.

Now my little fella is not really a bluebird but he thinks he is :)
I stamped white paper with an Impression Obsession cover-a-card background stamp called music and then cut 2 of the larges SB poinsettia die, distressed the edges and shaped the leaves a little for interest.   I dry embossed the white panel with CB music folder, stitched around the edge....and this is the finished product....

Will also be entering this card into MIM Challenge #108

Thanks for stopping by and your lovely comments are always appreciated.
