Snowboarding Birthday card - Say what now!

I was asked to make a Birthday card for a skier/snowboarder. This had me thinking for a while as to how to go about it and make a card not so Christmassy with a skier/snowboarder on it!

I did a Google search for an image and first started with Honey from All That Scraps, well I printed her too small when it came to putting her on the card, so I gave up with her and Google'd again, and Toby from The Greetings Farm came up. So off I toddled to TGF Central, bought him and downloaded him.

He looks not so very masculine in his purples, and hopefully will pass as a lady snowboarder lol

I've used Basic Grey Papers - Eskimo Kisses. Flowers from WOC, Sentiment stamp from Whimsy as is the die used to cut out the tickets.

I'm entering this card into two challenges

Thanks for stopping by, please leave a comment and I will strive to come visit you back!

hAnglar Babee comes out to play!

My Mojo is not as it can be at the moment, but try as I might, I still get a card worth a blog post. So here goes!

This is the boy from the hAnglar sTanglar Babee set, one of my favourite sets and the set I've so far used the most.

Close up

I've used Bearly Mine Papers from the fairly new 'For the Boys' digital set. Fabulous papers for any male card, I went with the simple diamonds and plain blue. Having used Bearly Mine Papers and there being a challenge at the moment called Beautiful Babies, its only right that I enter this into the challenge over there.

I'm also entering this cutie into:
Lovely hAnglar only : Use your favourite stamp
Sketch Saturday : The sketch obviously
Stamping Scrapping : Anything goes

BMD papers from the 'For the Boys' Set which you can purchase here
Image coloured with copics
Papers highlighted with Crackle Paint Picket Fence for that added texture
Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts
Sentiment from LOTV which I received in a Christmas Parcel :o)

Simple card for a brain that wont work this late at night. I'm off to bed now as I have to be up early for work. Thank you for stopping by, be sure to leave a comment and I'll fly by and visit you!

Sugar Bowl meets Dutch Dare

Ok - I'm loving the Simply Sassy Gals from Sugar Nellie. I've read somewhere that there is going to be a blog hop soon (December 4th), to showcase set three and I'm so excited!

I've used 'Little Light of Mine' and she can be found here at Funky Kits.

I'm entering this cutie into the Sugar Bowl Challenge which is another fabulous sketch and the theme of Snowflakes and the Dutch Dare Card Challenge which is Christmas Tag/Card/Ornament! - I've gone for a non traditional card.

I've kept her simple as I really want to enter the WOW competition again over on the Sugar Nellie blog - I hope I can enter twice, if not please discount this entry!!

Coloured using Distress Inks, Linen and Hammered textured white card stock, simple sky blue card stock for layering.
Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts
Snowflakes are an assortment of punches I had lying around in my drawer.

and a close up ...

Thank you for stopping by my little corner of blog land.
Please leave a comment so I can come visit you!

Friday Sketchers meets SWALK

First of all, I need to say a huge THANK YOU to Elaine over at 'a Technophobes Blog' for holding a candy in honour of her son Hal as I won it and I was over the moon! I was jumping up and down on my seat (which is not good, as I'm not the smallest of people!) and looking like a right loon! Big THANK YOU to Hal too, for picking me out of the many people who won.

I've been meaning to play with the stamps, papers and goodies I won for a while now but just have not had the time. Tonight however I made time.

And here we are...
I have used my Distress Inks on this cutie which is called - S.W.A.L.K -Thinking of you! by Crafters Companion.
Bundled Sage, Stormy Sky, Wild Honey, Tea Dye, and Spun Sugar - simple huh?
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, including the leaves and the pearl spray. The pins I had in my stash.
Papers were also in the candy I won and they are by Memory Box and are called 'Frond' and are absolutely gorgeous!
I've added some ribbon and three green gems from stash.

I am entering this into the Friday Sketchers challenge which was quick and easy to do!

Catch you all soon, I'm off to bed from some much needed shut eye!
