A Sketch for you - DT card Stampin' for the Weekend

Good Morning, its a Friday, and its the 3rd Friday of the month which means:

Another challenge over at Stampin' for the Weekend!

This week the lovely Fiona has created this fabulous sketch for us to follow

She is also providing the prize for this challenge which are these two gorgeous stamps from Funky Kits.
They are Sugar Nellies - Part of the Home Grown collection!

Wish I could play along this week!
***
Here is my take on the sketch for this challenge

I have used some gorgeous papers I received in a Secret Santa pressie called Lemonade which is by Basic Grey. I have used copics and coloured in my Tildas (Tilda Picking Peaches and the other one of which I'm not sure which collection she belonged to) and added some lace, ribbon, charms and flowers from my stash.
The sentiment is also a Magnolia Stamp.

I have popped this little cutie on the inside too so the inside isn't bare and boring! She sits on a strip of paper which goes along the inside length of the card, just below where you'd write your message

We also have a Guest Designer this week - Sharon kindly agreed to stay on until the end of January - Thanks Sharon!! Check our her beautiful creations here!
Thank you for popping by, I hope you will visit the Design Teams blogs and see what they have come up with this week. I'm sure you will find lots of inspiration to take part in the challenge this fortnight!

Totally Gorjuss meets Tuesday Morning Sketchers

Hello everyone
I've had a play around this evening with my NEW Distress Re-Inkers and coloured this cute Gorjuss Girl in from Funky Kits.
When I was finished I didnt know what to do with her so I went on the look out and found some Challenges
Tuesday Morning Sketchers had this sketch for us to play with so I rotated it 180 degrees

And the lovely Totally Gorjuss Challenge blog were looking for Thank You cards.
I tend not to put 'THANKS' on the front of my thank you cards, so I hope the girls on the TG Team don't mind too much!

I've used papers from K&Co - 'Roam' and 'Life's Journey' 12x12 collections

Punched some flowers with the same papers using my Retro punches in Large and Medium sizes, and added some green gem brads from stash

A little close up of this cutie!

Thank you for popping by!

The added option is 'Doodles!'

I've used the sketch twice and flipped it for both of my creations.

Here is the card - Using one of the Gorjuss Girls in Set Three. I've doodled around the circle with pen to give a faux sticth effect and written 'Thanks' on the side for a sentiment!

A little close up of this beautiful little girl!
This is the front of the box - again the sketch is flipped :D
And I've doodled in the same way and written thank you on this one!
A couple more views of the box

Stampin' for the Weekend - Week 10

For this weeks challenge, Vicki has given us this lovely sketch to work with, and I have to say I really enjoyed it!

Thanks Sweetie!

We have a lovely sponsor this week too..
Sir Stampalot who is offering one lucky crafter a
'My Favorite Things - Isabelle Paper Doll Clear Stamp Set!'
So for my card I decided to ink up this Gorgeous Sugar Nellie - Manga Girl which I bought fromFunky Kits when they were first released (Have since bought the other three hehe).

I think she is brilliant, and I've seen her around on some blogs and she is so versatile too.

I bought some fabric from the local quilting shop a while ago and decided to use some as inspiration for her tights and arms. So I started to colour her with those exact colours. However, I had no papers to match. So I cut up the fabric and wrapped it round some card and hey presto, bobs your uncle I had some groovy backing :o)

I layered up some retro flowers and stamped out a sentiment, popped em all together and I think it looks very funky!!
Another little view of the card.

Please head on over to Stampin' for the Weekend and check out the Teams Fabulous takes on Vicki's Sketch! They've done a fantastic job!!

~ Recipe ~
Stamps : Manga Girl 2 from Funky Kits, Sentiment from Papermania
Papers/Card : Gemstones Card Stock, Fabric from local store, Textured Card Stock from Papermania
Embellies : Brads from Stash
Tools : Retro Punch
Medium : Copics, Inkssential White Pen

Stampin for the Weekend Week 5 - Double or Nothing

Good morning everybody. Today is week 5 of our challenge blog being launched. The past month has flown by and with all this hot and humid weather, my Mojo has up and left me ! If anyone finds him, please send him home to me!

This week at Stampin' for the Weekend, we have a Double or Nothing theme for you!
Two Sketches!
It would only be right to offer two prizes too! So I'l show you the sketches quickly and the prizes, then my card!

If you decide to do my sketch, you could be in with a chance to win one of the lovely stamps from Pink Gem Designs! Janet has kindly donated this lovely fairy stamp, she is so sweet!
All fo these stamps are so cute and if you head on over to the site, there are new stamps being released for July!

My Sketch!

If you decide you prefer Donnas sketch, you could be in with a chance to win some fabby Digi Stamps from the Cute Daisy May collection!

Donna's Sketch

So, with the formalities over, here is my card. Obviously I went with my own sketch.

I inked up one of my favorite Gorjuss Girls from Sugar Nellie at Funky Kits and coloured her with Copics. I cut out some circles and scalloped circles with my nesties from my Gemstone papers (which I think are papermania, but not entirely sure), and mounted this little lady onto them!
I alternated between the Gem stone papers and Core'dinations textured card stock to build up the sketch. I kept it all bright and hippy like, to keep in the theme of this little lady. Which I think, had she been around at the end of the 60's would have fitted in well at Woodstock! I used my Doily Punch for a little detail on the right hand side.

I then used one of my birthday sentiment stamps, but I dont think it stamps well onto the textured card very well, and it kind of bled a little!

I used some paper flowers that were in my stash, I think they are K&co, but not sure. I went over them with some Copics as the colours didnt match completely and I'm still not sure if they do! and attatched them to the card with gem centred brads.

That's about it for my card. I kept it simple, and dont think its too busy. The card has already been claimed. So it had a nice new home now!

Thanks for popping by, and DONT forget to go see the Stampin' Teams creations over at Stampin' for the Weekend where you will find all the links to see how they made thier card.
Also, again this week we have the lovely Nancy who is our Guest Designer! Her card is fabulous, so go check it out!

Thanks again!

Sugar Bowl - Challenge 13

Hello again :o)

Over at the Sugar Bowl, the challenge has been set by the lovely Lilian for this coming two weeks. Its a gorgeous sketch. There is an added option of a colour challenge using Kraft Paper, but as I have none, they have allowed brown and creams :D
The prize for this challenge is Set 3 of the Gorjuss Girls from Funky Kits. Ooooooo I'm so excited about this next release. I cant wait to get mine when they are available.

On to the card then...
I had this lovely little Gorjuss Girl already coloured for a challenge that was a few weeks ago, but I chose a different image (another Gorjuss Girl instead). So I've used her here. I'm not sure I will be allowed as she isnt in brown or cream but gorgeous blues and a deep pink.

I coloured her in using my copics and highlighted her with the Inkssentials opaque pen.
The backing papers are from Bearly Mine Designs - Designer Extreme Vol II Cd created by the wonderful Donna.

I coloured in some white Papermania flowers with copics that I had lying around from another challenge I did and added some Papermania Pearl Brads. I didnt want to add a brad on the centre flower and remembered I had some amonites from weeks back when I bought them off the fossil guy on the market. I think the amonite looks fabulous on this flower arrangement, but then I would say that wouldnt I!
Thank you for popping by and catch you again soon.

Coloured using Copics Ciao Pens

Coloured card from my stash
Papers - unknown - have a feeling they may be Papermania or Dovecraft
