Polymeri Online 15.8.11 | Scorpions ahead! Fairy doors, Psyzoo animals and play with some paint!

Stephen Lavedas is an amateur sculptor. According to him, he has no formal art training (unless you count one class in 8th grade). He sculpts in polymer clay as a hobby and is a software engineer by trade. I hope I'm not disappointing Stephen but every time I see a scorpion near my front door (and we have quite a few!), I'm **** the hell out of it. wouldn't want to meet it inside my slippers! Take a look at his various galleries, some dedicated to his sculpturing.

Here is another polymer clay project of a fairy door from "cut out and keep" website, this project is by Lisa H.

Ekaterina is a young artist and fashion designer, creator of handmade clothes, accessories and the russian project Psyzoo. Psyzoo is based on cool, funky jewelry featuring animals of all kinds - cats together with elephants and some creative imaginary animals seen only in Ekaterina mind :) cool!

and a cool painting tool when you're in the mood, I found this flash app in this website
wonderful to play with the children or just for ourselves! Click the link to get the code to your website.

Tomorrow I'm going to have fun with my 12yrs old boy celebrating his birthday, hope you're having fun as well! :)

Dora Giveaway - Winners!

Thank you all for joining and sending some or your favorite color mixings!

This was my 1st giveaway and it was such fun!
Yesterday evening i asked my son to join me for the drawing, i asked him which way he prefered - the old fashion way with notes in a basket or the computer way, of course he chose the old fashion way! (it's the same way my 2 children are drawing who is going to get in the shower first! LOL)

Well, i had a real tough accountant on my side, he wanted everything to be perfect - "mommy, don't fold the notes this way, do it THAT way", then we decided we can't let so many people down - "mommy, i would be very disappointed if i didn't win", i told him - "i know sweety, but not everyone can win - what do you say, maybe we let 4 people win?" He smiled :)

after we put all the notes in a basket the game begun: He is closing his eyes (as if he knows someone written on those notes) and chose one at a time :)
1st was - Crazy Nancy

2nd was - Hope131

3rd was - Emma Phillips
4th was - Zabica67
all 4 winners, please send me your address to ship the Dora cane, my email for sending is imishly@gmail.com
thank you all for participating, my son send regards to all winners :) !

Polymeri Online 25.1.07

Karen Lorraine was born and raised in Surrey, England. she has done many different things for a living, from being an environmental chemist to an aerobics instructor, but her passion, her bliss, has always been art. all its many forms.
her current obsession is faces. she draws them on beads as well as on wall hangings.

how does she do it?

The beads that have faces or fairies on them are done by hand drawing directly onto a polymer bead. Layers of translucent clay and sometimes polyurethane are then applied to seal and protect the drawing. No two are ever alike.
her beads have become all about the sketch or drawing, as she consider the bead a tiny canvas for my art.

Mandala (Sanskrit "circle", "completion") is of Hindu origin and is also used in most Dharmic religions, such as Buddhism and Hinduism, to refer to various tangible objects. In Vajrayana they have been developed into sandpainting. In practice, mandala has become a generic term for any plan, chart or geometric pattern which represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically, a microcosm of the universe from the human perspective.
A mandala, especially its center, can be used during meditation as an object for focusing attention. The symmetrical geometric shapes tend to draw the attention towards their center.
